I booked a one hour appointment with Petra as our rescue dog Micki suffered from anxiety & I was worried about leaving him home alone whilst at work. Petra gave me plenty of valuable tips on things to do & not to do. I am pleased that Micki is settling at being home alone which is helped with Petra doing solo home visit/walk. Cannot recommend Lakes Pet services enough!!! I can honestly tell you my dog has been so much happier since regular day care visits with Petra. Hugo had become quite un-socialised and nervous around other dogs/ people. He started going to Petra once a week for day care - and we have really noticed a change in Hugo. He is SO much happier. He still gets nervous but every week he is getting better and it is really helping alongside our at-home training. At day care it's like he is learning how to be 'a dog' again, playing and socialising, it is so lovely to see. Hugo LOVES Petra and I mean she's his favourite person in the whole world! He sits crying at the window when he knows she's coming, tries to leave with her when she drops him off. This is a testament to Petra's character, she is truly amazing at what she does. i have been taking kie for a few months to see petra, and she has helped me and kie so much.kie is very nervous and cannot deal with dogs running towards him he wears a yellow coat and he has not socialized when he was younger. petra has helped us both i am more confidence when i am walking him. i would recommend petra to any body who needs help with a dog thank you petra it was great seeing kie running around with the dogs today x More...

I can't recommend Petra enough. We've just returned from 2 nights in The Lakes where Petra looked after our 18 month cockapoo for overnight boarding. She was so welcoming, friendly and brilliant with Reggie, we knew he was in safe hands. She sent us regular updates, took him out on early morning/evening walks and was flexible on drop off/pick up times. Prices are very reasonable. We booked for Maggie to stay with Petra a bit last minute after finding this on Facebook and she was extremely accommodating and flexible around what we needed. I'm always nervous to leave her anyway but I felt comfortable as soon as I met Petra and Sky. You could tell Petra knows exactly what she's doing and loves dogs. We brought our 16-week pup, Minnie, to spend the day with Petra whilst we were out enjoying the Lakes and felt happy to leave her from the moment we met! Petra obviously loves dogs very much and is a capable, knowledgeable carer. Minnie had a great time, despite being so young, and we loved seeing video and photos of what she'd got up to during the day :) We'd certainly recommend Petra's services and will be more than happy for her to care for Minnie the next time we visit! Petra has groomed our Cockapoos and walked them for some time now. We are really pleased with her grooming skills and our dogs are always so excited to see her ,which gives us great confidence that they are happy to be out walking with her. We recently left our dogs with her for 12 days when we had a holiday . Petra posted pictures every day on her site so we could see what they were up to, they always looked very happy and had some fantastic walks . Just returned from a great half term break in the Lakes, thanks in no small part to Petra, who at a couple of weeks notice was able to accommodate our Golden Retriever, when we were told we could not have him stay with us in our holiday apartment. Echo the other reviews. Petra clearly knows her stuff, loves the dogs in her care & loves providing a great service, going above and beyond to be flexible to the needs of her customers, canine & human alike! Major disappeared into her house each evening without even a backward glance, to be returned to us the next morning as a happy and excited boy! My boys Alfie and Sunny have regular walks with Petra and they have just come back from a weeks holiday with her. They have returned happy and healthy and I was very pleased to get regular updates from her while I was away. I've never used a dog walker /boarder before but I'm really pleased with Petra. I regularly see her walking her packs (I live very close) and the posse always look to be in her control and enjoying themselves. My small dog also gets groomed. It was our very good fortune to come across Petra’s Facebook page when we had a shift change at work. She is passionate about dogs and it shows. Well what can we say about Petra -
We booked our Precious fur baby in with Petra whilst our youngest daughter was getting married at the Lakes, Petra looked after Marley previous to the wedding day for a few hours so they could get to know one another, Petra updated us throughout the day with photos of his fun time with the other dogs, we are happy to say that we enjoyed our Wedding weekend without a heavy heart as we knew our Marley was being cared for with a beautiful animal loving Lady!

We were looking for somewhere to leave our puppy Edith for the first time.....we found Petra and after a trial run at doggy day care and seeing how happy the puppy was, we had no hesitation in leaving our cockerpoo with her. We were away for 10 days, Petra gave us plenty of updates and photos which showed Edith having a great time. We first met Petra when we needed daycare for our boy whilst we were at a Ruby Wedding lunch in Windermere. We found her via searching the web and got in touch.
She picked him up and dropped him off and in between, he had a wonderful day with her and we could relax and enjoy the event. (We also asked for him to be groomed and he came back to us silky smooth and smelling gorgeous!)
Fast forward 2 years and we’ve recently moved to Cumbria and have reconnected with Petra and have used her services for some sleep overs for our boy. It’s very reassuring to know that he is happy, well cared for and having a fun stay. Petra is a natural with animals and we highly recommend her pet care services.

Our cocker spaniel puppy layton has had 3 visits with Petra this week whilst we have been on holiday.Layton has settled really well and loves Petra.
Petra is great with dogs and very reassuring to us as we were a little worried about leaving layton but we had regular updates and photos.
We would happily recommend Petra and have a booking ready for our next visit to the lakes.

Puffin obviously had a great day with Petra while I was at a family wedding. It was very reassuring to know Puff was in safe hands so I didn't need to worry about her at all.
Petra is an excellent communicator with humans too and we all enjoyed hearing how Puffin was getting on during the day and receiving some very cute photos!
I thoroughly recommend Petra's services to everyone and would not hesitate to contact her again next time we are in the Lakes & need someone to look after Puffin.
