For anyone who wants to make their wedding day into a thrilling masterpiece of a movie: meet the Ladds!

Here’s the deal, future newlyweds: Only three things last after the day is over: the rings (and corresponding vows, of course), the memories, and the photos. If you find the right videographer, it’s like having moving, stunning pictures catching your love in action; the nuances of how you look at each other, the details of the day you’d forgotten because it went by in a flash, and the beauty you saw in your head and hoped others would see as well… Saying your vows, being declared as husband and wife (or what have you), hugging your family and friends, dancing your first dance, crying at your best man’s or maid of honor’s speeches… these are things a photo can’t catch.

We found Jake & Lizzy Ladd at a friend’s wedding. We chatted with them a little, told them we were on the lookout, and a few weeks later we received two emails. One was from the couple who had gotten married that day- a link to their videos. The music, the sentiment, the ambiance… I was quickly brought to tears by the beauty. I also had an email from the Ladds.
Without derailing from the couple’s special day, they had caught a few moments of my fiancé and I (talking with the newlyweds, dancing, etc.) and sent it over. It was thoughtful and wonderfully presented and I knew instantly we should hire them.

The Ladds don’t just hold a camera near you. They listen carefully, they figure out what makes the two of you special as a couple, they catch on quickly to what you want to see and hear (and what to leave on the cutting room floor), and they craft such beautiful vignettes that you will spend hours upon hours re-watching it with your spouse.

My husband and I got married on 10/15/17 and Jake was amazing to work with - so fun and always had a positive attitude, super talented and creative, and very accommodating. Even though we were only able to meet with him once before our wedding day, we feel like the videos he made truly captured the feel of our day and who we are together. He worked so hard (like seriously, running everywhere all day) to get as many moments as he could for us. Jake and Lizzie are absolute dreams to work with, and the videos they create are beautiful, unique and spot on at capturing the essence of their subjects!

I have told anyone who would listen (which isn't many because whenever people start talking about their wedding, other people kind of tune them out. have you noticed that yet? you will) that they should hire Ladd Films to capture their wedding or any other special occasion.

Some people view a wedding video as a complete luxury and don't set aside the budget for it, but I can honestly say that my wedding video was my all time best wedding investment! It instantly transports me back to that amazing day that flew by WAY too fast and let's me relive it in such a special way. Every detail I thought through and put money towards that seemed SO important at the time (flower arrangements, centerpieces, first dance selection) would be a vague memory at this point if I didn't have such an enchanting wedding video to re-watch whenever I was in the mood to reminisce.

Seriously. If you think a wedding video is an unnecessary luxury, PLEASE reconsider and have the video to be your one splurge you allow for yourself! You will appreciate it 100 times more than splurging on rarer flowers or a fancier veil or an extra passed hors d'oeuvre. This video will last you a lifetime, and will only get better with time.

Jake and Lizzie did our wedding video. Was so blessed that they were able to join us on our day. They did a fantastic job, let me share some of the reasons why:

>> They have a natural creative sense. They got us into excellent poses. In fact, our wedding pictures turned out great as well... because of their creativity!

>> They weren't in the way. It felt like at every important moment... when there were emotions being shared, etc Jake and Lizzie were there. At the same time, they were able to blend into the surroundings.

>> They were able to adapt to the situation. Jake and Lizzie had never done a Muslim wedding before. That said, they were able to adapt to make things work. They were sensitive to the culture and religion, and it made the experience really pleasant.

>> The end product was fantastic. Without any direction at all, they were able to put together a really great video.

I don't think we could ever say enough about Ladd Films. Jake and Lizzie were not only our videographers, they became a part of our family during the wedding day. Jake was the first person at our venue on the wedding day, and was there until the very end. They not only captured every moment, but they were a part of it, even sporting our sunglasses favors.

From the initial conversation to receiving the last deliverable, you can tell that they truly care about their clients and want to get to know YOU. They do not just fit the highlight reel to a standard criteria, they make it unique to each couple. I am so in love with not only the quality of our video, but every last detail, including how perfectly the music works with each frame. I find myself wanting to watch it all the time, even months after the wedding has passed to relive the day.

Where do I even begin... Jake and Lizzie aren't just amazing videographers, they are incredible people who truly care about what they do and are so kind and genuine. Before the wedding: Jake and Lizzie were super approachable. Communication was easy and efficient; it was never a problem to get in contact with them , and we always felt valued in our ideas and questions. Quite simply, they made it easy to work with them--they were warm, inviting, and fun. The wedding day: On our wedding day, having Jake and Lizzie there was like having 2 of our dearest friends along for the ride. They had a way of capturing intimate and personal moments in a way that was not intrusive or pushy. They were also a freaking TON OF FUN!!! I mean, Jake was climbing trees to get the shots he wanted, Lizzie was crawling around on the ground to get the perfect angle--how can you not have fun with that kind of entertainment!?!? These guys had a way of being "behind the scenes" in their approach to filming, but didn't miss a single moment. After the wedding: When we received our highlight reel, we could not stop watching. We heard great things about them from our Wedding Planner. Our wedding was a destination in Miami and we decided to fly them out. We had put so much time and effort into planning our dream wedding...so it was extremely important to fully capture it & get a great video to show for it. After our first meeting with Jake & Lizzie all our anxiety was put to ease. They asked great questions to get to know us & had great ideas to best tell our story.

Moving onto the actual wedding...Jake & Lizzie were simply a joy to have around us at all times of our wedding. It is so important to have good people around you during your wedding and these two were so cool & calm the entire time. Always making sure they were capturing the important events but you totally forget they are even there. It's not an easy balance...but they somehow did it perfectly.

With the wedding captured, these two went straight to work on our videos. They really made the effort up front & during the wedding to get to know us and everyone who was special to us. This made for the perfect wedding video, that captured our love, the special days & all the incredible people who shared it with us. We literally were sobbing watching it.

We couldn't have been more impressed by Ladd Films! Jake and Lizzie did a great job of explaining all parts of the process, and taking the time to get to know us and our story prior to the wedding. It was obvious that they came into the wedding day with some creative ideas to tell our story, and did a great job getting the necessary shots without adding stress to bride, groom, guests or photographers. Their personalities made it easy for them to blend into the days events and get candid footage and commentary without people feeling uncomfortable or intimidated by a camera in the room. Some of our favorite parts of the video were the early "getting ready" parts and the closing of the night-- we were so glad that they were in it for the whole day, instead of choosing a window of a few hours. They were professional throughout the whole process, did a very nice job of explaining their rates and packages, and kept in communication after the wedding to let us know when to expect the videos. For budget reasons, we were unsure if we would go with a videographer at all. Looking back, we are so happy that we have such an awesome way to remember the day (including the events we were too busy to see when they were happening), and the people that were all there with us. Hiring Ladd Films was one of the decisions we are most happy about. We would highly recommend Ladd Films.
