We love going here when we are in that location. We have known Jose about 20 yes from a previous restaurant to LA Piazza. Besides enjoying the best egg plant parm w penne Ala vodka, Jose is the main reason why we go, friendly and makes it feel like visiting family!

Absolutely love this place... Went there for the first time after coming out of Manhattan which I wanted to go to Carmine's but didn't get a chance. Made a reservation last minute on a Saturday night.  I was surprised they took it for party of two as most restaurants do not. We had dinner out in their garden area which is enclosed. It was nice to eat in their but it became way to cold and they could not adjust the temperature . That was the only negative,   Our waiter Jose was great. Very attentive and served with a smile. We had sautéed calamari in a fra diablo sauce and it was delicious. I had chicken primavera which was plentiful. I do wish they served spaghetti squash but not on their menu. We are not from Melville. We came from Astoria to visit white post farms. We were hungry and wanted to find something close by to have dinner. This place had excellent food and service. I'm not sure why there are some bad reviews here. But the food was absolutely delicious. The fruiti de mar was fantastic and the chicken Marsala was so flavorful. Went here for dinner with the wife. We have been here many times. The food is consistently good. I ordered the branzino Mediterranean but I asked to substitute broccoli rabe for spinach. My entree came out with spinach so I had to wait for the broccoli rabe. Our server apologized and gave us a comp dessert which was the right thing to do. Sign of a good restaurant. La Piazza exemplified what an excellent Italian/ continental restaurant. The menu is diverse and the portions large and delicious. Excellent service, excellent food and a true culinary delight for the discriminating diner. The owner Tommy is definitely hands on and in touch with the kitchen, the staff and every patron.
