La Baia Hotel

Stayed here for 2 nights with my 12 yr old son. On arrival we were greeted by Jamie. Lovely guy, who then proceeded to carry my case upstairs. I've stayed 4 times in Scarbs and this is the first time someone has offered to carry my stuff upstairs! Brilliant! ||||The room was exceedingly clean, I mean spotless! Beds really comfy. And bathroom was lovely and big. Shower was AMAZING. Spacious and loads of hot water. ||||View was spectacular (always is in Scarborough). You get the usual coffee and teas PLUS some biccies. And chocs on the bed! My son was particularly impressed with this. Breakfast was delicious, and lots of it.||||All in all it was just wonderful, my only comment would be if you have mobility issues or are pleasantly plump maybe go for a room not right at the top. We stayed at La Baia from Monday 24th to Friday 27th. We recieved a warm welcome from Jamie, and made our way to our fabulous rooms. After our exploration of Scarborough's exquisite offerings it was back to La Baia for a blissful night's sleep on a comfortable bed. Next morning a tasty selection is available on the breakfast menu. Fabulous hotel with totally amazing views of the coast. The rooms are warm,comfy and clean. The staff are really lovely- can't do enough for you. Great hot and cold breakfast choices. 5 minute walk from shops bars & restaurants. The parking permit is really useful. Apologies to Jamie, Elaine and the gang at La Baia for the delayed review. We once again stayed with La Baia Hotel in September for our annual 2 day golf trip to Scarborough. This was the 9th year and as always we were made to feel very welcome the moment we walked in the door. The room was lovely and clean, the breakfast was just right and there are plenty of options if you do not want a full cooked breakfast. We are currently on our last night of a 7 night stay. Just myself & my husband. Neither of us have been to scarborough or the hotel before we arrived just after midday and emailed ahead of time if we could check in at that time and we could. We were warmly greeted by Elaine one of the owners of the hotel. She took our details and gave us some very useful tips on scarborough and good places to eat they showed us to our room we had booked a premier seaview room ( highly recommend booking a seaview room the premier room is one of la baia larger rooms , we were room no4 on the first floor the room is light and airy in colours of cream & white and touches of purple with a large bay window overlooking Scarborough’s north bay and to the right a view of scarborough castle. Amenities in the room include free view tv, tea & coffee making (tea coffee and biscuits) and a couple bottles or water) dressing table , plenty of storage and seating area in the bay window. En-suite toilet and large shower with nice complentary toiletries free WiFi we had a parking permit included in the price . There’s a lovely reasonable priced bar. Prices are in the guest info book in your room every morning you are served with full English breakfast or you can choose what you want of the menu, also juices , cereal and fruit served with tea of coffee toast and jams . The breakfast were always perfectly cooked and defiantly set you up for the day. But Elaine , Jamie and all the staff make you feel so welcome and at home which is a real bonus. ( forgot to add you get a nice big comfy bed) ||Scarborough itself is lovely its spilt into 3 lively South Bay , quieter north bay and then the main town. Scarborough is very hilly but it keeps you fit. But if you do have mobility issues it’s still good to get around. Within 5/10 min walk from la baia is scarborough castle and st Mary’s church with Anne bronte grave( her grave is in the cemetary not the church yard) thanks to Elaine for punting us in the right direction cos we couldn’t find it at first. Peasholm park and north bay minature railway just a little further away and sealife centre is around 20 min walk along north bay . You won’t go hungry in scarborough plenty of great places to eat in the evening or at lunch our personal favourites are Gianni Italian on Victoria road and Indian lounge on castle road about 10 min walk from la baia and a good Cantonese kam sang also short walk away. Scarborough arms is good for pub grub. Oasis cafe just down on the north bay seafront and lookout on the pier on South Bay all stood out but there’s so many places to choose. ||This has been our first time but it definatley won’t be the last a great top notch B&B/hotel. With great hosts and amazing view. We totally recommend la baia when you come to scarborough , I recommend booking direct. We will be telling friends and family . My husband, Ray and I, enjoyed our 3rd August Bank Holiday break, with these wonderful people!!||||The place is beautiful, the rooms, comfortable and luxurious, and we have never stayed anywhere so exceptionally clean! !||||The breakfasts are what you dream of, and such a variety, if you have yours cooked, it is sheer perfection!!||||Then there's Jamie, Elaine and Tony, who are delightful people, work extremely hard, along with their staff, to make sure you have the best holiday experience!! Nothing is too much trouble!!||||It isn't just lovely Scarborough we come back to see, it's these wonderful people at La Baia, and the place itself!! We are currently half way through a 7night stay at la baia it’s our first time to the hotel and to Scarborough. It’s situated in the quieter north bay of Scarborough . We are in premier sea view room 4 and it’s has an amazing view of north bay. The room and whole hotel is clean and comfortable and we cant fault a thing. Breakfasts are lovely and set you up for the day. There’s only one negative we have to leave on Saturday but we will be back. We stayed at La Baia for our UK mini- moon and we weren’t disappointed. We were greeted warmly by Jamie and were very impressed. We had a lovely super-king room which was pristine and the bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was just lovely, a great selection and my husband got very used to his top notch cooked breakfast every morning! We stayed for just the 1 night. We were welcomed by Jamie who was very pleasant and accommodating he gave me a parking permit and explained that parking was on the street and advised best location. The double room was very clean,light and airy we had a view of the South Bay. The hotel is a slight distance from the centre but is within walking distance. It has a bar and has free WiFi in all rooms. There was a good choice for breakfast and it was cooked fresh. A special mention for Elaine for whom nothing was too much trouble. Hotel is in a great location - plenty of on street parking - (free via voucher issued by hotel). Our room was quite big, en-suite, with a large shower with plenty hot water. We had a huge king size bed which was so comfortable and great curtains which kept the room very dark We had a great nights sleep each night. Our room was on the first floor and was very quiet even though the hotel was full. Plenty of selection at breakfast each morning including fresh fruit and yoghurt, cereals, kippers, porridge (and of course the full English which looked very good although we didn’t try it) All staff were very friendly and couldn’t do enough for guests.
