I didn't want to write this review, as the start of our experience with Kwikshift was quite good, but after our post-move interactions with them, I feel that I need to share what we've experienced. We moved from Liverpool to Oxford in mid-June 2021, and opted to pay Kwikshift £1475 to move our 3-bedroom house worth of furniture. We did this in order to protect our belongings and to ensure a smooth transition. Firstly, the booking process was very easy and Kwikshift was helpful in getting everything arranged. The movers did arrive almost an hour late picking up our things in Liverpool, and 90 minutes late in bringing them to Oxford (without calling), but we were willing to overlook that (despite how inconvenient it was during a very busy week). The movers spent the better part of a day moving things in to the new house. They were bringing each item to its designated room, which I appreciated, but which meant I didn't touch the things between the truck and their final room assignment. Once they left, I went to move our bedside table into place, and noticed that the entire top of it came off when I picked it up to move it. Looking inside the unit, I could see that the drawer was also damaged. Obviously the movers just rested the top on the base of the table and didn't mention anything to me, as the two bedside tables were stacked on each other. The next day, we unwrapped our chest of drawers only to find that this had apparently been dropped and the top had fairly significant damage. I wrote to Kwikshift to make them aware of the damage, assuming they'd be as helpful as they were in the beginning in finding a resolution with me. I will paste their responses below, and will add screen shots to the post, as I found it difficult to believe a company would send such brazen responses, with no care or concern for the customer. In fact, Kwikshift opted to blame us for the build of the units (the drawers had been built by M&S, so this certainly wasn't a good excuse!). In response to our bedside tables breaking: "Thank you for sending the pictures through to us. We have had a reply back from our claims handler and unfortunately he has rejected this claim. We can see from the pictures that the item is only held together by dowles. To correctly fix these items they are designed to push together. This is common design fault and usually down to an incorrect assembly." I can't imagine that any furniture built with dowels wouldn't be covered. If that was the case, it should have clearly been stated, as MOST flat-pack furniture is built with dowels. After a week with no replies, I followed up and received this reply regarding (I assume, as it isn't stated) both pieces of furniture: "Apologies for the delay in replying, Unfortunately we are not able to accept any liability for this, as you have stated that after our movers had left you have moved the item yourself. "We tried lifting the top of the piece to move it" This is an incorrect lift for this item and may have damaged the piece. Please see our terms and conditions regarding the knock that you accepted when taking our services: 11.3.15 For any goods packed by the client and not by us, the insurance cover excludes breakage, denting, chipping and scratching in respect to all property. 11.5 Any minor damage, chips or light scratches to furniture will not be covered by our insurance cover." We did understand that 'minor damage' wouldn't be something worth complaining about. Our bedside tables are completely broken beyond being able to be used. Our chest of drawers has structural damage to the top of the unit that's the top to curve upward. We're using it for the time being, but this will need to be replaced as well. I don't believe either of these would be considered 'minor damage'. Kwikshift is effectively refusing to have a conversation with me about this, and is finding different ways to blame me each time they reply to an email. I think it's insane to think that we can't pick up our own furniture (which we did correctly, by the way) without voiding any liability they might have. You can even see in the photos below that the movers didn't put the bedside tables next to the bed- they were stacked on other boxes, so we had to move them. As it seems I'm getting no where in my claim, I thought I'd warn any future customers that might get caught in the same trap by other good reviews. It's a shame, as I thought we were hiring a trustworthy company. Instead, it appears we got a company that doesn't care about its customers, or their possessions, which would seem to me to be a key criteria for a removals company. Booked removers weeks ago for tomorrow, confirmed on Monday and asked if I could pay to be told somebody would contact me Tuesday from the office to take the payment. Nobody called me yesterday, I called this morning to be told my slot had been given away. They had sent one email to say I needed to call them which I had missed, they obviously got a bigger job and were charging them more. We used Kwikshift to undertake our 3 bed house move from Liverpool to Cornwall. The team were amazing from start to finish. I genuinely can not recommend these guys more. I was originally meant to move on Wednesday with another company but these guys saved my life with their flexibility to work on Thursday and then Friday. Shortly before 8 on moving day I get a call from them to say they will be with me in twenty minutes. Sure to form they show as promised.Jordan and Elliot were my team for the day. Absolutely great lads, both professional and personal. They get straight to work getting our things into the van. I didn’t know what to do with myself as I had nothing to do on moving day but watch. So we just relaxed.After explaining that the new house had just been built and giving details of how to find it I thought there might be a risk they could get lost as delivery people have. Instead when we got to the new house they were waiting for us.Some delays in getting the keys I kept keeping them informed. They acted like this was perfectly normal and they were not in the slightest concerned.We got the keys and the two of them promptly put on shoe covers and just started unpacking. We were still excited we had our house but Jordan and Elliot were just cracking on with it.Before we knew they had brought all our stuff into our new house into the rooms we wanted. Kwikshift helped us move offices recently, and we couldn't be happier with their service. We gave only two days notice, but the team were still able to accomadate us at our preffered date and time. The two removal men, Josh and Ally, were very friendly and polite, and nothing was too much trouble for them.
