About

My name is Karen Parrow. I’ve been working professionally in this role since 2018 – with adults and teens. Prior to this, I worked as a support worker in an addiction centre for three years and then took over the running of a local community centre.
I decided to train as a professional counsellor and subsequently set up KPCounselling in order to allow me to help and support others through difficult times. My own counselling journey was difficult, but life changing and it's such an incredible privilege to be able to use my own life experiences to help others.
I work ‘integratively’, which means I use elements of different models of theory and tailor them to each clients needs.. I’m also able to invite you to use creative explorations such as sand tray work, play therapy, art therapy, writing and visualisation/meditation work.
Whichever way we work together, the relationship between us will be what facilitates the changes you wish to make and I endeavour to consistently offer empathy, to regard you positively no matter how difficult some of the things we deal with may be, and to be honest and upfront with you. This will help to nurture an environment in which you feel truly heard, valued, and empowered to make positive change.
