Really accommodating and helpful staff; I was only in the area for a week and was able to purchase a temporary membership and have an induction on the same day so I could use the gym on some of the mornings. The staff on reception also gave me and my wife a list of potential places to visit which we used, though didn't get everywhere. Gym was nice, clean and cool and had everything you need to train. From the word go this sports centre have been friendly and helpful. The pool , gym and other facilities are great. Full membership gives you members only swims as well s the public sessions, the gym pass and all classes are freely available to you. You also have a pay as you go option if thats what you want to do. I am so glad I joined. More...

I booked a 1-1 lesson for my husband with Heather and he came back beaming with confidence. The staff are all so welcoming and helpful. The lesson has really helped my husbands technique and is a great help towards his upcoming triathlon. I would recommend the centre to anyone!! More...

Only used the swimming pool sometimes u had to swim in order to get warm water in pool not always that warm !!!�!would have loved to have used the gym but no pay as u go �but a good clean and smily staff

First visit to the Oxley Sports Centre in Sherborne, came along with a few of our fencers from Barnstaple and Tiverton Fencing Clubs, attending the Dorset Open & County Fencing Championship 2016, which has not been run for many years. The Sat nav found it with no problem, awkward entry to the free car park, but plenty of spaces. Had a fair amount of kit, managed to find a space quite close to the main building. The main sports hall on the ground floor as is the entrance so no problems getting in and out with automatic doors. Arrived about 9.30 am, leaving home at 7.30 am so a black coffee and bacon bap was very welcome, not expensive served by polite friendly staff. The men's changing rooms were in very good condition and good quality, the gents in the cafe area a little cramped so recommend using the changing rooms. Very modern looking well designed building, the main hall was large with plenty of space around the marked out floor areas. Lighting was very good. Left at 5.00pm so after seven and a half hours in the centre, cannot think of anything negative, did help having the cafe though. Competition went well, hopefully return in 2017 now that they have set a date in the annual calender for the event. More...

Oxley has a very friendly atmosphere and the staff are always helpful. I use it during my university holidays and its great to be able to buy a months student membership.
