Hello!
Thanks for taking a look at my profile. In a nutshell I photograph babies, children and families like yours throughout Edinburgh the Lothians and Fife.
The experience is fun, natural and relaxed portraiture with photographs taken in the comfort of your own home (most likely if you've just had a baby) or in the great outdoors at a venue of your choice.

My youngest is usually shy of the camera but Kirsty made them feel very relaxed and managed to capture their personalities as they played in picturesque surroundings. What do you love most about your job?
The BUZZ that I get after a photoshoot! The anticipation and sense of excitement before and during a session. Every shoot is so different, even if I find myself in a location that I've been to before. Plus, the people I have had the pleasure of working with have all been fantastic.
What inspired you to start your own business?
For as long as I can remember, taking pictures has filled me with happiness and excitement. One press of the shutter release and you have a new creation in an instant. Amazing. Art and Creativity has always been in my heart since I was a young girl. My studies led to a career in graphic design, print and marketing. I loved designing layouts which used amazing photography and I became more and more interested in exploring this avenue as a profession. Throughout my time as a student and professional designer, my passion for photography was always there, I just needed to unleash it! I chose to complete an evening class in photography and it was here that I discovered my love of photographing people. Finally after years working for the same company I made the leap and left to become a self employed photographer and boy do I love it. Having my children was also a huge inspiration!

At Home Newborn Sessions
If you're expecting or have a brand new bundle, then congratulations! You can choose to have your session at home or at an outdoor location of your choice. My style is candid and natural and with a little gentle direction you will end up with a gorgeous range of images you can treasure and reflect upon.
Newborns are best photographed in the first 2 weeks. I don't pose or touch your baby, but leave that up to you. Almost all sessions take place in your own home so you have everything to hand. Don't worry if you're house is a tip, I've been there! I like to capture those early days using natural light wherever possible.
Wall Art
I am a firm believer in getting images on display in your home to be enjoyed for generations. Choose from a stunning range of frames, canvases and gallery prints.
Family Portraits
99% of my family sessions take place in the great outdoors. It's fun for all with many a giggle along the way. I very much go by how people interact with each other. I want you to be at ease and relaxed, and above all I want you to be yourselves!
I'm quite happy working silently in the background capturing candid and spontaneous shots from a distance. Children are more reactive in outdoor locations and there's more chance to capture those 'living in the moment' style of shots if there's lots of space to run around.
I've been doing this for 10 years and seen many a tantrum so you don't need to worry about your wee ones not playing ball. I come supplied with bubbles for those moments but sometimes it just requires some down time and a biscuit!
Other than some gentle direction the session is fun and informal. I like to get a range of naturally posed shots in amongst the candid ones where possible, providing a good mix of images.
Maternity Sessions
Pregnancy is a special time, whether you embrace your new body or not! 9 months can go by incredibly quickly and at the time, you're too busy trying to organise things that you don't get a chance to really see how you're body is changing. It's an exciting time, full of anticipation when you can look forward to the arrival of your precious little person.
I can create some beautifully natural images of you and your bump (on your own and/or with partner) in the comfort of your own home, or you can choose an outside location.
The benefits of having your session at home is that you will have everything you need and this will probably be your preference if you have just had your baby and it's your first time being a mum.
