We were on a two day walk with two dogs and this met our requirements of being dog friendly with a pub just down the road for dinner. ||We booked the Byers family room because it had a double and a single bed, had a bath and was dog friendly. However on arrival we were told that room had been given to someone else and we had been reallocated a double room. We pointed out that as two men this was no good and the lovely young receptionist was great and quickly found us another room with two beds (Forge twin room). This was a nice room but smaller, only had too single beds and wasn't great for dogs due to a light carpet which we did our best to keep clean by hosing the dogs off. Also not only did it not have a bath, there was no shower cubical either - the shower was just on the bathroom wall which meant the whole bathroom flooded and when returning to the toilet you got wet feet! All a bit weird but OK for one night.||The beds were comfortable and there were good tea making facilities and biscuits and a TV with many channels. It was very warm even with the heating turned right down. Oddly although there was a wine list and a room plan there was no other information in the room regarding breakfast times, WI-FI password etc. ||Breakfast was very nice with a freshly cooked full English (great bacon) and buffet for cereals, toast etc. and our dogs were allowed to sit with us.||For dinner we walked the 5 minutes along the road to the village pub which did very good food.||All staff were friendly and helpful and they did apologise for the room mix-up which they blamed on the booking site. We would happily stay again but would either book direct or contact them beforehand to ensure we were actually going to get the room we had booked. More...

We stayed in The Granary which is a big open plan room. It was lovely. Kitchen area, TV area, dining area and a double bed and a new sparkly bathroom. Great taps in the kitchen by the way ;-) Breakfast was amazing, piping hot and plentiful. All the staff we met were so friendly, even finding our dog a sausage for his breakfast. Really good, relaxed family feel about the place. The view from the garden was spectacular. Keep doing what you are doing, it's a great place. More...

We could not fault the service we got. Chris the host is great in his role and made sure the day went smoothly. Friday evening buffet to our design with lovely fresh made rolls etc, fantastic ice breaker for all the guests. Lovely breakfast with eggs to order and lovely baked goods again, all done by chef from scratch. All of the food was delicious. Wedding meal was barbeque style with salads. The Kilmer Jars of water always available. Drinks vouchers organised for us. Lovely setting for a wedding. The present team took over in June, so they have done so well to pick up the weddings booked. They have great plans for over the winter so should be even better next wedding year. Disabled facilities already good, but plans for improvement over the winter. Fantastic stay. The guests said best wedding ever! More...

The location was great, not far from Corfe Castle and just on the outskirts of Kingston village, so things to see and do within walking distance or a short drive. The views from the garden, and the garden themselves, were beautiful. ||The property itself is well kept and maintained. Check in was quick and easy and the guy on reception really friendly. Unfortunately I had booked a "Byers" room and had been relocated to a "The Dairy" room instead and unless I missed a message I was not informed of this before arrival or during check in. However, the room itself was nice so I didn't bother to complain about it, especially as the "Byers" rooms all seemed occupied anyway. The room itself was clean and tidy. The WiFi connection in this room is all but non existent and phone signal so poor that I couldn't use my phone internet to do some important work that needed doing. I understand the difficulties of WiFi and old stone buildings but prior warning of lack of coverage in this area would have been helpful. ||Breakfast was good, the usual selection of continental and freshly cooked English breakfast. ||All in all I had a lovely stay and would come back again More...

You can beat the setting it’s so picturesque and the barn is faultless. The chefs on site will cater to whatever you want and the planning and communication from Tony and Katherine in the lead up was great. The rooms could do with an update on the bathrooms and some decor but it’s very minor and I understand the new owners are starting to make improvements but I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the venue to anyone it’s just perfect! The location is brilliant.. very close to Corfe Castle/Village & a short drive from Swanage, Studland & Wareham. The twin dog friendly room was very spacious & airy. I was worried that it would be too stuffy & hot in the summertime but I was so pleased that it wasn’t at all. My dog was very comfortable too as he had ample space. The bedding was nice and cosy too. Nice big wardrobe which easily fits the clothing of two people, decent sized flat screen tv (freeview). I liked that there was a table & chair available too as I like to use my laptop occasionally. The bathroom was very big with a convenient walk in with wet room (shower) & body wash, shampoo & conditioner all provided. There is also two hairdryers provided in the room for those that use them. The garden was big & good for exercising of dogs. It was nice & peaceful with a couple benches. Great views of Corfe Castle across the beautiful countryside too from the wall at the side of the garden. The breakfast was great with a large selection of foods to choose from & the staff were always friendly, professional & very helpful. I really enjoyed my stay & felt very relaxed & comfortable throughout.. my dog also loved his stay! My father stayed in a single room & loved it too! I would strongly recommend this location.. A beautiful view, a barn full of character, an option for an outdoor wedding under the rose pagoda but with wet weather alternatives and luxurious accommodation onsite for ourselves and our guests. Not only that, but they are also pretty eco-conscious, cutting down on single use plastic where they can and using a composting sewage system. At the time of our wedding, the business was in the process of changing hands, which could well have sent alarm bells ringing for us if it hadn’t been so smoothly run! Bobbie took care of the accommodation for our guests, ensuring they had everything they needed, while Catherine and Tony oversaw the running of the wedding and the catering. We would never have known had they not told us!Tony was ever so patient with us as we ummed and ahhed about whether to go inside or outside for our ceremony - the weather was unpredictable and we must have driven him crazy! However we’re so pleased we opted for the outside ceremony as the weather came through for us and it would have been such a shame not to use the beautiful pagoda and garden. The food was incredible, they worked with us to design a vegetarian option that wasn’t on their sample menus and created stunning started hampers, ‘ploughmans’ style. So many of our guests have since told us how delicious the food was. The canapes were also amazing, even pandering to our plea to have half of our cream teas jam then cream, and the other half the other way around! The only negative point we could think of was that the corkage was a bit pricy. We had the most beautiful day at a venue that really felt like it was built for us, Catherine, Tony and Bobbie couldn’t do enough for us and our guests, we only wish it could have lasted longer!
