The Kimpton has a perfect location to get anywhere on South Beach. The staff is friendly and very helpful. The pool is nice and beach access great. The indoor bar is homey and friendly. Included afternoon wine is a nice touch. These are all huge positives and make it worth staying here. We had a suite. It was very large, nicely decorated. It was a little worn though very clean. Nice mini bar but no coffee in the room, needed to trek down to the lobby every morning for the free coffee bar. It better be fantastic coffee to drag my butt down to the lobby first thing and it wasn’t. The staff and the location make this place, we would definitely stay here again. We stayed at this hotel for six nights. We enjoyed the weather, swimming pool and the surroundings. We used the bicycles, we could only use them for 2 hours. So we couldn t go very far. The bikes were are nice add on but no gears therefore not very comfie. The hotel is situated near lincoln rd where are a lot of stores and restaurants. The room was big enough with a nice tv, ok bathroom (not too big) but sufficient. The bed was excellent by the way.I personally enjoyed the unicorn in the pool:). In the room you could get different kind of candy, water, wine etc. But usd 10 for a bottle of water is a little bit ridiculous. I also used the small gym which was nice. The employees near the pool were really nice. You have to pay a resort fee per day which wasn t cheap, almost usd 40 per day incl tax. Furthermore the hotel blocked my creditcard for usd 850. Partly for resortfee but also for possible damages and food. This blockage is not very nice if you use the cc al the time. The positive thing is it was refunded the day we checked out. From the time you walk in, you are greeted by friendly staff, the mild and pleasant scent of jasmine and sandalwood that permeates the halls and elevator, and the eclectic interior decor. It rests at the prime South Beach location. It boasts of a private beach with a full bar/food service to your lounging chair. A full spa with individual bungalows that are surrounded by hanging clematis pergolas, a hydration station and a 24 hr. supply of 50 and 30 SPF for your convenience. As you walk into your room, you immediately notice the basket with goodies, kits, and spirits, as well as a full stocked refrigerator for your leisure. The toiletries are part of their luxury brand and come in a full large size dispenser rather than mini sizes.||||Demetrius accommodated us at the beach, as we were celebrating our 20th anniversary, with a full service of king size beach bed, canopy and umbrellas. This is the second time this year I have stayed at this location. This time was for a work trip so the room was with 2 double beds. Room size is definitely on the smaller side but the comfort of the beds and amenities of the hotel make up for that. Lower resort fee than other hotels in the area. Gaurav and Nikola at the front desk were so kind and helpful! They recommended restaurants and gave us great travel tips. The entire staff was friendly and the hotel rooms were very clean and comfortable . The hotel is centrally located and close to many restaurants and shopping options. I thoroughly enjoyed relaxing by the pool and taking advantage of the free bike rentals. The daily happy hour was also a definite bonus! I am looking forward to coming back in the near future! Just stayed here for the Art Basel weekend, as a family and an IHG Platinum member. Hard to say how much different the experience would be without 'status' - But they treated me like a wealthy aristocrat the whole time (which I am not). Earlier check in, 2-bed request met, $20 bar/food credit, Happy Hour Wine each day... This place is exceptional. The location is REALLY nice, the best of 3 hotels we stayed at on South Beach. (Confidante and Gates (Hilton) being the other 2). The Customer Service is above and beyond here, honestly the best of any IHG hotel i've stayed at. We spent an amazing week here with our two kids, ages 6 and 9. It was absolutely perfect in every way. The hotel is large enough to offer a good choice of amenities, but small enough to feel personal. The location is unbeatable, right on the beach and within walking distance to Lincoln Road (you don't need a car here!). All of the staff were great, but the pool staff were just exceptional (we spent nearly all our time next to the pool!). Taylor is an excellent pool manager, she kept everything running smoothly and was professional-yet-friendly with everyone. Dean, Ty, and Claudette also brought so much extra to our stay. We enjoyed the food and drinks from the beachside cafe - they'll bring everything to you poolside. There are activities for all ages every day, even in the 'low season' when US schools aren't on school holidays. Beach chairs, beach toys, towels, suncream, and pool toys are all included, which is great if like us you are flying in and can't bring these with you. The 'wine down' hour with complementary wine was also much appreciated! I've seen some reviews talk about the size/decoration of the rooms. It's worth it to note that this isn't a 'balcony high-rise' type hotel, but rather a smaller, historically-listed building, and the size and decoration of the rooms blend with the period the architecture represents. It really was an unforgettable week, and this is the first time I've loved a hotel enough to be sure that I'll go back again! More...

The Surfcomber has a great location: right on South Beach and in the middle of the action. The pool is totally gorgeous: huge, heated, and fringed with plenty of sun-loungers. There’s free fruit-infused water, pool towels and vegan sun cream next to the poolside and you can order snacks and drinks to your lounger. The hotel also has free bikes. The lobby is really hip and well furnished and the wine hour was great. We would have loved to give this hotel five stars, however, the bedroom and bathroom are both teeny; and the charges for parking and the resort fee were more expensive than we’d anticipated and unexpected, respectively. Furthermore, we were charged for using the minibar for having “6 food items and 1 drink” when we in fact didn’t consume anything and it took 1 Facebook message and 2 emails to get them to respond and resolve this. We were having a girl’s’ birthday weekend in Miami & our servers at the beach, Karina & Teodora, were both so fantastic! Excellent recommendations & service! One of the most pleasant & least pretentious beach hangs we have had in a long time! |The hotel itself is in a great location- walkable to everything you want to do! It is an Art Deco building so expect small rooms & thin walls! But this is a Kimpton, so as always, the service makes up for any shortcomings. Even our person from housekeeping Sandy was phenomenal! I stayed at the Kimpton Surfcomber hotel this past November, and was extremely pleased with this property and its customer service! The staff from the front desk, pool, all the way to housekeeping were extremely genuine in their attempts to improve our stay and make us feel at home. We got some great recommendations from the concierge as far as restaurants to try as well as where to go for paddle boarding to see manatees. The property was very well kept, upbeat, and modern. They even offered social events daily that were a great added touch. It was located in a great spot right on Collins that was easily walkable to the area attractions and loved the beach access. I stayed at this property the weekend before Thanksgiving. I work in luxury hotel food & beverage for a living & this hotel exceeded my expectations. Very professional valet staff, positive check in experience. Concierge, Omar, knowledgeable about the area and very pleasant to interact with. The entire bar staff lead by Andres is flawless in my opinion. Interacted with Andres the most as a bartender at both bars which I found impressive provided he manages the bars. Ruben bartended a couple evenings while I was there, wrote me a list of places to go out to-great bonus because it was my first visit to this amazing destination. I feel terrible I can’t remember two of the female bartenders names, one outside who looked like Halsey (great compliment) and one inside who was blonde, has two dogs and lives on the beach-she held great conversation with me and gave great advice on where to head, I hope they can be recognized as well for efficient bar service. Pool staff Claudette is energetic, set me up with chairs several times, expressed interest in my trip and was a lot of fun to chat with. Her team member James was also great with extremely prompt service to the pool. The housekeeping team provided stay over service for me almost immediately upon my request-so appreciated because I stayed for four nights. The staff made me feel like family, the property made me feel more than comfortable enough to relax and this was a great hotel to stay at if it’s your first time visiting. Surfcomber is my go to for South Beach. Being greeted with smiles and acknowledged by front desk staff. from the time I step foot in the property sets the tone for how the stay will be. After our week long stay at Surfcomber, all I can say is Outstanding! We were greeted each day at the pool with a bright smile from Taylor, Dean, “ T” and Collette. Collectively they enhanced our experience and enjoyment of the hotel. The food at the Social Club was delicious as well as the service. The food, libations and servers from High Tide poolside bar were timely and outgoing. Ghulam greeted us upon our arrival with a smile and a helpful hand with our luggage. Lastly, Michelle at the front desk was efficient, and understanding when handling our room change. The hotel is located on the beach and a block from Lincoln blvd...... I lost count. This may be my 8th straight year staying at the Surfcomber on Collins avenue. Many thanks to the Surfcomber for a fabulous, relaxing 5 days in Miami. We had a room with a balcony and view of the pool, and it was worth the extra money to be able to pop outside anytime and enjoy the sunshine. We visited the beach daily for a few hours and Karina and Feodora were there to help bring us drinks. They were very friendly and attentive. There was an app you could use to order food/drinks, but we didn't need to use it. Karina and Feodora were there whenever we needed something. Manuel was a big help on the beach as well making sure we had chairs, towels, and a table for our books and drinks. We also ate breakfast a couple days in the restaurant. We so enjoyed our stay at the Surfcomber. We have not stayed at a Kimpton resort. We found everyone was so friendly and accommodating from the start. Loved all the free goodies!! Wine tasting and treats to go with it. Free chair massage. ||The concierge Omar was very helpful and friendly!
