This was an interesting place. The couple who own it are sheep and cattle farmers. They are very nice and friendly. It is in the country surrounded by fields of sheep and cattle. A traditional farmhouse in a glorious location. A lovely, friendly welcome. A bright, sunny, good size double room with shower room ensuite. Breakfast to last the day! We felt like we were staying with old friends, on a true working farm. Lucky enough to watch the delivery of a lamb, and follow his progress for a few days, and to bottle feed and cuddle lambs. Pigs, goats, cattle, dog, cat, children!! This was a never to be forgotten stay with the wonderful Sandra and Arthur and their family. We will return. Can’t wait. More...

I’d always wanted to stay on a working farm and this really didn’t disappoint! Loved every minute, from the friendly greeting from Anya and Rosie the “guard dog” ( who thinks she’s bigger than she is! ), to discovering our delightful sunny room with a huge and most comfortable bed; from watching the delivery of their last lamb due, to greeting the pigs and goats; from the wonderful breakfasts enjoyed in the company of the family, to the drive round the entire farm in the landrover.||We felt like we were staying with friends in their home, rather than at a b&b. Sandra and Arthur, Susan and little Anna, plus the boys, were the most friendly bunch you could wish to meet.||This is a true working farm, with views you couldn’t buy, and we can’t wait to go back. We stayed here for 3 nights for a wedding. We were greeted with coffee and cake in the garden. The house is very quiet with excellent views. We really enjoyed the breakfast and there was a good selection. We felt very much at home here and nothing was too much trouble. We were even able to stay an hour after check out because they knew we were feeling delicate after the wedding the night before! I took my 82 year old mother to Kilworthy House for the night and she loved it. It reminded her of childhood holidays on a farm in the 1940s. Kilworthy House has clean and comfortable rooms with lovely views. We had the large room with a double and a single which is very spacious. It is so quiet just the sound of the cows! I loved my stay at the farm. If you're looking for an authentic farm to stay at in the South West then this is the place for you. The hosts were both lovely and really made you feel welcomed - no request was any bother. The bed was so comfortable as others have said, and although yes the presentation of the hallways/communal spaces could be improved - I wouldn't consider the place dirty or unclean. Good value for money. Friendly family run business. Very quiet, and comfortable bed - probably the best night's sleep we've had in a long time. It's a farm so obviously in a rural setting, but only about a mile and a half away from Tavistock town so it's a very convenient location - best of both worlds. More...
