How can someone tell if their Garage is suitable for conversion?
In the majority of cases, the work involved in converting a garage will be considered as permitted development.
If you live on a new estate with strict guidelines or in an where development can be restricted to protect the appearance of the surroundings, it would be good to check what’s allowed.
If in doubt, you can apply for a certificate of lawful development to your local authority. Bear in mind that, the removal of permitted development does not rule out the potential of a garage conversion, but you’ll need to ensure the design is sensitive to the setting and apply for full planning permission.
You will need a planning permission, if you live in a listed building, if the garage conversion increases your home beyond permitted development rights, if you are converting the space for business and your council has restrictions on reducing parking. Even if these restrictions apply, you should be able to convert the garage interior as long as the exterior is untouched.

How can someone tell if their loft is suitable for conversion?
The features that will decide the suitability of the roof space for a loft conversion are the available head height, the pitch and the type of structure, as well as any obstacles such as water tanks or chimney stacks. An inspection of the roof space will reveal its structure and physical dimensions.

As the founder of KIDD Construction Services Ltd, I have been in building, development and renovation businesses for almost 30 years. KIDD as a company is quite young, we started our activities in 2017 and completed several projects since then.
What guarantee does your work come with?
If it's a problem related with workmanship, our work comes with 1 year guarantee. If it's a problem related with a material that has been used in the work, then the material suppliers' guarantee will be valid and we'll make sure that the problem is resolved promptly
What do you love most about your job?
I am a civil engineer by education and also with almost 30 years of experience in different fields of building industry. I worked as project manager in many large projects as well as an investor in property development. So, I can bring a large portfolio of experience for people who would like to improve their living space or add value to their property. I love the idea to transform places in order to create inspiring spaces for people to enjoy and share. But I also like to create added value through efficiency , design, high quality execution and competitive pricing. It's a never ending challenge.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Both of my parents were architects and I come from a house filled with ideas and designs. They used to design buildings with lots of interesting features and character. When I started doing property development, I realized that transforming spaces and creating new environments were the most interesting part of my work. That's how I decided to start a complete renovation and refurbishment business to share this enthusiasm with like minded people around me.
