I came to Korey Keyser four days before taxes were due. I had been an independence contractor for the past year so I needed someone who would work with me personally and help me figure out what I could and could not include in my taxes. Over those four days, Keyser communicated with me through phone calls, texts, and emails (because of my schedule I couldn't stick to one). I came to Korey Keyser five days before my taxes were due. In the 5 days before he turned in my taxes we communicated several times over email, text and phone call. I had anticipated my tax bill to be a couple thousand dollars for the 2017 year. Working with KFS was absolutely fantastic! I have never had an accountant do our family taxes but with our finances getting more complicated I saw the need to get outside help. Korey was super responsive, highly personable, and did everything he could to bring down our tax bill. I honestly don't have enough good things to say about Keyser Financial Services and our experience with our accountant Korey Keyser. He was very welcoming and kind and knew his way around getting the best deductions and exemptions. I came to him at 10am on a saturday a few days before taxes are due and we were submitting my return by 2pm. I have been using Keyser Financial Services (KFS) for a couple of years now for both my C-Corp's accounting, taxes, and my personal taxes as well. They have kept their promises, and are yet to let me down. There have been occasions where I have requested services that were frankly outside of the scope of "accounting & taxes"; but once again KFS has been extraordinarily helpful for me and my business. Why is it so important for businesses to hire a great accountant?
People are generally motivated to start a small business from inspiration and passion. Most businesses aren't formed from a source of structure and financial competence. As such, most entrepreneurs are not well suited to measure, report, and translate the information contained within a business' transactions and financial data in to smart business decisions. Businesses need to have an ally who is capable of: 1. analyzing the business' transactions. 2. Recording and reporting the information into a universally accepted format. & 3. Being able to utilize the information and translate for the benefit of the owner to perpetuate success.
What do you love most about your job?
I love the dynamics of business. I also love helping serious minded business people who are working hard to achieve their goals and success. For me there is no better way to help than to examine and evaluate another person's business; and show them without bias the strengths and weaknesses inherent within their organization.
The fun part is to help formulate a corrective strategy; and watch the changes and benefits take effect.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I have a very entrepreneurial spirit, and am way too autonomous to be an employee. I have to be the captain of my own boat. IT MAY NOT BE A BIG BOAT.. BUT IT'S MINE. :-)
