Kevin's been my trainer for 17 years! He also trains my husband and my 14 year old son. He's really relaxed and easy to work with, the sessions are really enjoyable and we often laugh quite a bit. He plans a really varied programme, which is always challenging but achievable, using weights, bands,exercise ball and BoSU. The main cardio I do now is boxing but I used to run. Three years ago I had been suffering from a serious back issue for the previous eight months, having seen a chiropractor and physio which did not help. My back condition had deteriorated so badly that a specialist back consultant suggested an epidural which in fact did nothing to help. I was facing the prospect of back surgery. Within a month of treatment from Kevin I was much better, as well as<span id="moreReview598878" class="hide"> massage he recommended key exercises to strengthen my lower back to prevent problems re-occurring. I have continued to see Kevin on a regular basis, his visits were to my house at a mutually convenient time. I did subsequently have a couple of minor issues with my back but with advice/treatment from Kevin I was quickly back to normal. For the last two years my back has been problem free, I cycle long distances, I scramble in Snowdonia and am basically not restricted by back issues. Kevin has been my personal trainer for a number of years and I cannot speak highly enough about his knowledge around exercise, diet and sports massage. He's also incredibly enthusiastic and good fun. He tailors his programme very carefully and rotates different types of exercise to keep it interesting. I particularly like the boxing. How do you help your clients achieve their fitness goals?
I make sure that I assess each of my clients comprehensively and build individual programmes for them. I have a wide knowledge base too in fitness, nutrition and sports injury treatment and management. I am also a performance trainer to many large companies. I ensure people work hard but safely and most of all have fun and educational sessions.
What’s the secret to getting the body of your dreams?
Work hard and consistently. Regularity of training, good habits pay off.
What do you love most about your job?
Helping people to feel better to live better quality and more energised lives.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I wanted control over my diary and have a flexible working pattern.
Why should our clients choose you?
It's best for people to talk to a range of trainers but as a fitness tutor I have the knowledge and experience to make training work for people. Work smart and don't get bored. There are also a lot of poor fitness practices out there as the industry is often driven by fads and fashions not evidence based science.
