What do you love most about your job?
I think the favourite thing about my job is the spontaneous and unpredictable nature of event photography. No two events are ever the same even if they are at the same venue.
When you arrive at an event very little is under your control - how people react, the 'atmosphere', the lighting - it's all up for grabs. And the challenge of leaving an event with not only a collection of great photographs but also photographs that faithfully reflect the event and tell a story is what I truly love about my job.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I had been passionate about photography for many years whilst running a database consultancy. I had started doing an increasing amount of paid photography work on a part time basis and then one day it suddenly hit me. Whilst I was very good at creating databases, I was far far better at taking photographs.
After that light bulb moment, the decision was easy.
Why should our clients choose you?
Very simply because I am very good at what I do, I am a specialist event and people photographer and have been doing it for a long time!
My style and approach are entirely built around event and ‘live’ photography. It is a very specific skill and requires an exceptional eye and a thorough understanding of how to capture live and unpredictable situations as they unfold in front of you. I have worked on an endless number of events of all types and in all conditions and thus have unbeatable experience in this type of photography.
Therefore I feel very confident in saying that anyone looking for an event photographer should talk to me as I am sure I will be able to do an exceptional job for them.
