Keir Townsend did the full refurbishment, redecoration and furnishing of my flat in Queen’s Gate, South Kensington, London, including change of layout, to create a functional and luxurious space for us to enjoy when we visit London. We wanted to have a 5 Star feel, whilst not losing site of an all important home from home experience, so it had to be practical. I can confidently say that Keir Townsend achieved these objectives 100%. They also fully managed the construction process and I didn’t even have to visit the building site once, which made the process completely seamless for me. It was wonderful to step into a transformed space in the end – complete with beautiful personalised touches, stunning accessories and even a biofuel fireplace! Everyone who visits the flat falls in love with it and it and I had some fantastic complements from family, friends and several international publications, so we are very pleased with the project and are currently continuing cooperation with Keir Townsend as repeat clients. We are always careful to take the time to fully understand the client's brief, what's important to them and how the space will be used on a day to day basis. Once the brief is agreed, we work to RIBA work stages to ensure a smooth progression of the project. We combine regular design meetings and reporting structure to ensure the client knows what is happening and what the next stages are.

What do you love most about your job?
We love overcoming design challenges to deliver on the agreed concept. When we are working on beautiful period buildings we need to design to the client's expectation for modern living, but respect the period features of the property. When these elements are combined successfully, it creates a truly inspiring place to live.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Combining the design expertise of Design Director, Keira Townsend with the project management skills of RICS qualified Projects Director, Alastair Keir, created a partnership that allows us to control all aspects of the project in house, giving the client more control and only one point of contact for all aspects of the project.
