I went into KD360 not knowing what to expect, but hearing from many that PT is “torture”. I was pleasantly surprised when I found that Karen – who owns KD360 - doesn’t push you too hard. I now have a totally different view of PT; it’s not only beneficial, but I learned a lot and looked forward to going. It’s not too much of a stretch to say that Karen makes PT fun. It’s a very easy, relaxed atmosphere and Karen makes the time pass very quickly – even when counting reps of 20 or ticking off 2 minutes. I felt distinct measures of progress every time I walked out the door (maybe not immediately, but within that day). I would not hesitate in the least to use Karen as my Physical Therapist if (when) I need it again. Along with all of this, Karen is also into a complete wellness concept (hence the 360) and her overall approach come from that point. Getting well was her goal for me and it was achieved. More...

Just over a year ago, I suffered a C1 fracture burst. After eight months in a Miami J brace and a soft collar, my doctor cleared me for physical therapy. During the past five years I have experienced physical therapy for my shoulder and my wrist. Each time 6 to 8 weeks after I started I was released to work on my own at home. Both classic scenarios for PT, but impersonal throughout. This time I decided I would be proactive and very selective. With the help of my insurance company, I gathered a list of physical therapists within a radius that was reasonable for frequent travel. I asked the same question of each one. I explained my injury and asked about his/her experience and comfort with treating a C1 injury. I encountered more hesitation than confidence until I talked to Dr. Karen DeSimone. Her knowledgeable answers to each question combined with her confidence, made me feel I found the right person.

Dr. DeSimone is an expert in Physical Therapy and Laser Therapy. She is the complete package. She taught me that recovery for an injury is a complex process. It involves physical therapy, attention to nutrition, and the patient’s dedication to selected exercises. Laser Therapy is a recommended addition for some but not all injuries. Her work with soft tissue helped me to better understand my injury and to regain the mobility in my neck. Karen expertly guided me in each area throughout the physical therapy process.

As I approach the end of my need for physical therapy, I am thankful everyday for Karen. She is energized by my success. She faces each day with determination to help her patients improve. When I told her I thought I would only get 80% of my neck mobility back, she looked at me and said, “You can and you will get to 100%...and I will make sure that happens.”

Dr. DeSimone cares.

I highly recommend Dr. Karen DeSimone, and I would never consider anyone else.
