Kay provided an afternoon tea package for an event I was hosting. The items arrived extremely well packed with generous portions. An amazing selection of fresh cakes, samosas, mini quiches and sandwiches. The guests all commented on the selection of food and how delicious everything was. Kay also provided tea and coffee butlers, to save me from having to make multiple individual cups, a real-time saver. This was extremely helpful as my party helpers had cancelled. We had Kay and her team cater for us on a film set this week and the food is hands down the best-set catering I've had the pleasure of eating. Kay's Kitchen delivered us with a diverse and exciting menu which adhered to the multiple dietary requirements we had amongst the crew. I was particularly fond of the Tandori Chicken with grilled paneer and sweet potato and Chicken Cacciatore with braised Kale and Pancetta. Above the delicious food was the outstanding customer service and experience presented by Kay and her team. Kay and I often talked through the menu together and Kay offered a load of exciting options that met the needs of our crew. Her team who helped with the deliveries and setting up on-site were also amazing, friendly and professional with their service. What’s your signature dish?
I have so many! Because I have lived in so many different countries and cooked all over the world, it's hard to pin it down to just one. However, being Malaysian means that's where my roots are and so this is the cuisine I really love - Beef Rendang is my favourite dish to make
How do you go about creating the perfect menu for your clients?
Creating the perfect menu is all about listening to the client's needs. Some clients know exactly what they want and so I deliver to the best of my ability, and then some. For those that don't know what menu they want, it's my job to inspire them and offer enticing suggestions.
What do you love most about your job?
I love so many aspects but the parts that really excite me are the cooking and the feedback.
I was born in Malaysia, to a large family of strong women all interested in food and cooking. I’ve travelled the world and lived in various different countries - I’ve attended the Sydney Seafood School in Australia, I’ve taught Indian cooking in Belgium, I developed internationally flavoured recipes whilst living in Switzerland, France, New York and England. When you combine that background, a love of travel and a passion for food, it ignites something special.
When I cook and get amazing feedback, it makes it all worthwhile. I love what I do and that fact others love it pleases me greatly.
What inspired you to start your own business?
As above, food has been a part of my family since I was little, so I was brought up by passionate women who loved food and cooking - it was inevitable that I get involved and love it as much as I do.
To deliver my services to other people and have them enjoy the experience as much as I love creating it, is simply amazing.

I cook with passion and always give the client an exceptional experience. My offer is bespoke and so I am able to meet the clients needs, at a competitive price that suits their budget.

With my passion for food and cuisine, I want to be able to share my knowledge and skill to teach other people. I have successfully run courses for teenagers leaving home for University and soon I will be offering students the opportunity to learn cooking skills in preparation for their Duke of Edinburgh award.

Weekly Menu
Due to the current pandemic with all events and parties becoming more of a vague memory, I have started my weekly meal menu. Every Thursday, I post a new menu to my Facebook account Kayskitchenvirginiawater. Orders are taken till midnight Saturday. Sunday and Monday i shop and prep and Tuesday meals are cooked fresh from scratch and ready for pick up or delivery. Within Virginia Water, free delivery. For now we are delivering to Cobham, Oxshott, Weybridge, Windsor, Ascot and surrounding area, and all surrounding area around Virginia Water. The menu comes with a variety of cuisine with Gluten Free and Vegan options.
