Hi everyone,

I'm an undergraduate student on an Art and Film & Theatre course (combined studies) and am interested in developing my portfolio through work experience and also in part-time paid work to support my studies.

I am experienced in using wide range of materials and techniques and can adapt my style efficiently according to genre.

I thoroughly enjoy creating my work and am more than willing to do commissions.
I like to think that I have my own distinctive style yet I do not find it difficult to work according to another person's specific guidelines and ideas as well.

If you're at all interested, feel free to send me a message as I would hugely appreciate any opportunity to get my work out there.

A some PDF samples of my work should be available below but I'd be more than willing to show you some more up-to-date sample pieces if you send me a message. I am constantly revising my work and trying to develop my skills so it can be difficult to keep updating this site at a rate that represents my current skill-set.

Thanks,
Katherine.

I am currently an A level English Language student with a keen interest in creative writing. I have a specific aptitude in comedic and opinionated editorial pieces and specialist reviews as well as short fiction. I am also interested in working on scripts and screenplays with aims on taking a Film & Theatre course next year.
I have had plenty of experience in submitting work to a deadline both for coursework and whilst writing for Leeds magazine 'The Student Beacon', and would love for more opportunities to get my work published on a commission basis.

I think the best way for you to find out if you'd like my work is to have a look at some sample pieces of my work yourself. If you're at all interested, go ahead and send me a message and I'll get them to you as soon as I can.
Cheers,
Katherine.

I have a longstanding interest in the cosmetic industry both as an everyday personal hobby and as an art form in its own right. With an extensive collection of my own I am accustomed to a great range of practical techniques and beauty routines and have a strong field knowledge of the products currently available. I have pursued my own interest in makeup for independent projects, working as a commission MUA for photo shoots in and around my local area.

One of my art projects this year was called ‘Characterisation through Appearance’ where I explored various special-effects makeup techniques to create unique, original designs for the main characters in my schools’ production of The Odyssey. I became head of the hair and makeup team for this production - orchestrating a large group of people in order to achieve the various practised looks with a strict time limit every night of the show. I gained the highest marks out of my year for this project which my tutor deemed ‘degree level’, which was put down to my genuine interest in the subject.
I have been strongly influenced by online makeup blogs and tutorials from gurus such as Nic & Samantha Chapman, Emma Pickles and Sandra Holmbom who demonstrate not only the vast versatility of ‘conventional’ makeup, but also open up the realm of the more creative and bizarre. Wayne Goss was also influential as he has such useful advice when it comes to complimenting the features of the individual. This knowledge I know would prove very important when interacting with customers and promoting products which cater to their specific needs.
I believe there are no strict rules in makeup, and that a particular brand or label should not limit the unique style of the individual client, but enhance it by adapting to their own personal needs, lifestyle and desired look. I would take pride in advising clients in this area
