I thought it was a good idea, and then nearly a dozen friends and colleagues who I had no clue used the service swore by it's convenience and uncanny ability to match you with the right specialists. The amount of time and money I saved in the typically frustrating process of finding the best professional for my particular needs alone has already made this service a winner! Thank you! More...

Q&As

Helping people to feel better and get more out of their lives is an amazing privilege. Every client is different and presents a unique challenge and opportunity. I can't imagine doing anything else as long as I could be a therapist.

I have been employed full time at the VA for the last 15 years, and have only recently ventured into private practice. I have realized over the past few years that it can be difficult for people outside the VA to find really experienced therapists, and I would like to offer everything I've learned to a wider audience. I've been blessed to work with literally hundreds of people with a wide variety of problems and issues, and I think it has given me a unique perspective on the therapeutic work. Eventually I plan to transition into full time private practice - I may "retire" from the VA but I don't intend to ever retire from doing this work.

-Experience counts. I have spent over 30,000 hours in face-to-face sessions with clients and it has taught me never to take anything for granted; to approach each person or couple or group with "beginner's mind"; to pay attention to what my clients say and help them find and utilize the tools that are going to work for THEM.
-Not much fazes me. If I've learned anything, it is that none of us are in any position to judge others. I am honored when someone chooses to entrust me with their pain and difficulties and ask for my help. People coming into therapy often worry that they are going to "overwhelm" their therapist with their problems. If I don't think I am the right person to help you, I will do everything I can to help you find the best therapist for you.
-I am Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Oregon. Being licensed means that I am held to a high ethical standard and have to stay current with advances and developments in the field. Every client deserves a provider that is accountable to them.
