My wife was lucky enough to have a cake made by this talented cake maker. She made a cake that looked just like our dog! The only problem was it was so realistic (and such a work of art) we were reluctant to cut it! But we were so glad we did. We knew we were in for a treat as soon as we looked on Karen’s website and saw all her amazing flavours and past creations. We were lucky enough to secure Karen to make our wedding cake and after a few consultations (in person, via telephone and email) we eventually settled on a 4 tier cake – with a different flavour on each tier.

We hoped the design we conceptualised (flower garland and gold leaf World map on top tier and brush strokes on the bottom) would work but we would not find out until the day of our wedding. Nor did we try all the different flavours, but again, we were willing to go on trust. We need not have worried. Karen absolutely NAILED it! Alongside input from our florist (Kate Langdale), we (and our guests alike) were left extremely impressed with the finished look! We were especially pleased with how the Gold leaf World Map panned out. Karen and Kate had come to our venue (Angel House) early and had spent a lot of time constructing the cake in situ. Their hard work more than paid off - our cake was on display from the morning right through to the evening and held up beautifully throughout that time.

With a lot of cakes, if they are stunning in appearance, you expect there might be a bit of compromise when it comes to the taste. Not so with Karen’s bakes. We had 4 different flavoured tiers (Chocolate fudge with Nutella; Lemon and almond with lemon curd; Apple and cinnamon with salted caramel and Carrot & pineapple with cream cheese) and every single cake was absolutely delicious!! Flavoursome, moist and made with quality natural ingredients. Our guests could not get enough of them and even though we massively over-ordered, by the end of the evening, there were only a few portions left from each tier – and even then our guests were asking our caterers for tin foil so they could take some home!

We are extremely grateful to Karen for her involvement with our special day and will most definitely be placing future orders with her for other special occasions. If you are reading this review and wondering whether or not you should go with Kasserina Cakes, our advice would be a big fat YES! Do it now before she gets booked up. Like us, you won’t regret it! I love Karen's' original and creative ideas! And they taste amazing too! I cannot fault her in any area of her service. As a wedding planner, I can fully rely on Karen to deliver on time, a fab cake which will be exactly what my couples have asked for an more. I knew I wanted to go with Kass for our wedding cake after seeing some photos on Facebook . I then went to speak to her and one of the local wedding fairs and was so helpful and lovely :)
Our cake was absolutely amazing and everyone couldn’t stop talking about it . It tasted amazing as well ! Nothing was to much trouble and I was so excited when I saw it for the first time !!
