I'm very dissapointed with their service, I've been a loyal customer for years however when I called to place an order they were short with me and me feel like I was bothering them. I used to like this place but honestly the quality has gone down and the portions as well. I ordered a Caesar salad entree to go (there was a side salad option) and i got a tiny container even though i paid for the entrée portion. I would highly recommend avoiding this business as a place to work. The owner has not paid rent since beginning of covid claiming she is a amenitie to the building. She will not give you the raises she promises you. She will ask you to use your vehicle and will never compensate you, despite saying she will. Behind the scenes is very disorganized and hectic. So I struggled to write this because I used to love this restaurant. The portion sizes were significantly shrunk, and the brewed coffee was horrendous. I usually get a latte there but decided on a regular one, that was a mistake. Their food did taste good, and their chutney was still delicious but the service was a bit gruff. They weren't rude by any means but I was ignored for 10 mins just waiting to ask for a takeout box. I could tell he was a bit overwhelmed and probably having an off morning, so I didn't take it personally. But when I'm paying $30 for one breakfast bowl and a coffee, I'd expect more than 2 cherry tomatoes cut in half and a few mushrooms in it. What’s your signature dish?
At Good Eats Cafe we make all our own bread. Our sandwich platters are made on our freshly made, whole wheat wraps that are more like naan bread than wraps. They are very fresh, soft and chewy. We fill these wraps not with cold cuts, but with things that you would normally have for dinner, i.e. roast chicken, gravy, stuffing, cranberry sauce or chicken curry, or vegan sushi, etc.
How do you go about creating the perfect menu for your clients?
We are very careful about understanding the food intolerances, preferences and dietary needs of our customers. We cater to gluten free, vegan, dairy free, etc. We make all our own gluten free products in house so we can be sure of what is in them. We have a dedicated gluten free table and utilize separate oil for making our gluten free doughnuts. We have an online recipe system so that our dishes are repeatable and consistent. Since we make things all by hand and in small batches, having the produce be consistent is important to our customers.
What do you love most about your job?
I love interacting with the customers...especially the repeat customers that come into the cafe regularly. We call them (and ourselves) GoodEaters. We get so much joy when people tell us how great, fresh and healthy our food is and especially when they then suggest inviting us to cater their office lunch or mother's birthday dinner.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I have an interesting story. I have always wanted a cafe and planned to open one when I retired from my career in engineering. I got a possibly serious illness that I dealt with successfully and while recovering, I felt I dodged a bullet and didn't want to waste any more time doing something that my heart wasn't into anymore. I wanted to open a cafe. I started doing research and building a business plan and I found the perfect cafe to buy. I had significant experience in project management and manufacturing and I bring a lot of the process and efficiency thinking to this business as well.
Why should our clients choose you?
We are a happy group here. We don't run our kitchen like other kitchens. We are a team...no hierarchy. We all have our responsibilities but we all pitch in where it is needed. That makes for a lot of accountability by everyone and a lot of focus on quality and doing things right. We also all have the same belief that eating out shouldn't mean being unhealthy. It should be an extension of your home...the way your mom cooked. Our byline is 'You'll love how healthy tastes" and we plan our meal to reflect that.

We can cater anything from as little as 8 people to as large as 300 people. We do corporate lunches, receptions, business openings, weddings, etc
