We booked Karen for our wedding on 9th August 2019. We had an amazing service start to finish, with plenty of communication from the time of booking last year to the actual wedding day. A lovely, bubbly lady who makes you feel at ease. Our photographs are out of this world. We got married in the Scottish Highlands and didn't know the area well. Karen took beautiful pictures at the wedding venue and then as an added personal touch, even took us to a few locations she recommended for additional shots. Karen was out wedding photographer this year at the Old Fruitmarket. I would recommend her for many reasons, her professionalism, making the experience personable and reassuring us when things got a wee bit stressful on the day! Karen had contacted myself promptly after enquiring, and we discussed what our vision was for the wedding, Karen was able to listen and suggest things that I hadn't even thought of!
Throughout the course of preparing for the wedding, Karen was reachable at any moment, to discuss other ideas, and areas around the venue for couples photos.
Karen also met with my family at a time that suited us, as a young family we had bedtime routines to follow, Karen was happy to met with us after our little one was in bed, and when my husband arrived back for work.
During the day of the wedding, Karen arrived on time, and stayed until she felt was the right time to leave. Karen captured so many lovely and beautiful moments during the course of the day. Capturing the essence of our wedding and our relationship.
I can't thank Karen for everything she has done for us, I would recommend her to anyone looking for a wedding photographer.

Karen did a family photo shoot for us with our 1 week old daughter to mark her arrival. Karen's professional approach captured this magical time for us perfectly and we really enjoyed the photo shoot. As an HSS celebrant I work with many photographers and Karen is right up there with the best. Friendly, kind and so unobtrusive during the ceremony, yet producing lovely images of the most intimate moments. She also sent me a link to view the album ( with the couple's permission of course :-) ) which many photographers promise but fail to do! As an admirer of Karen Thorburn’s stunning photography, I contacted her in order to purchase a print.

The process was easy; Karen is attentive to all inquiries; the print arrived in the USA about 2.5 weeks.

I plan to paint in my studio the picture of the white pony on the Isle of Harris.

I will surely invest in more of her photography as she is able to capture the vast landscape of Scotland, truly one of the most gorgeous places I have ever visited.
