Absolutely loved our night at the lion inn. Tucked away in a tiny village in the welsh countryside, with the main b&b and a separate little bothy, where we stayed, is so beautiful and surrounded by nothing but fields. Theres even a fabulous park tucked in the centre of the village, again with gorgeous views and a stream. ||The bothy, being separate from the main b&b gives you so much more privacy and costs less! And still those gorgeous views. ||The owner was so kind and lovely, and did anything she could to help us and make us feel welcome. I'd happily go back over and over. It was only a short, but very scenic drive to zip world at betws y coed.||Will definitely return in the future! As many times as possible! ||Thank you so much for making our stay amazing More...

I stayed at the Lion Inn for 2 nights whilst working in the area. The new owner, Karen was welcoming and helpful and provided a superb evening meal and breakfast. ...whilst also organising a team of builders who were working on improvements to the kitchen area at the back of the property. ||My en suite room was spacious with a super comfortable bed, good quality linen, tea/coffee making facilities and mineral water. TV / DVD, radio, etc. All I needed for a restful night's sleep. ||The property is located in the small, quiet village of Gwytherin, which is within easy reach of Betws y Coed but gives the impression of being well 'away from it all'....perfect if like me, you enjoy exploring the surrounding countryside with great access to walking trails. Gwytherin is one of the important sites along the St Winifred's Pilgrim Trail , en route from Holywell to Shrewsbury Abbey.||Only a few minutes drive from the village are some of the most spectacular views of Snowdonia. I will definitely be returning to the Lion Inn. More...

Our welcome was warm, our breakfasts and dinners delicious with great attention given to presentation and detail. Dinners are cooked to order and during our stay we enjoyed a a perfect steak, chicken in a delicious mustard sauce, an amazing fish pie and a very tasty Lasagne, all expertly prepared by Fiona. Tim and Fiona are amazing hosts welcoming guests in to their tastefully decorated historic Inn with genuine kindness and generosity. Our room 'Sage' had a comfortable seating area with a window overlooking rolling hills where sheep were grazing. Tim and Fiona had time for us and went the extra mile, providing us with details of a local lady who had researched the Church records in this historic village. This enabled me to complete my family tree. A truly memorable weekend. More...
