Beautiful surroundings and dog behaviourist Alison who very much cares for both dog and owner who works very hard with rescues, training and specific skills. Ive been 3x and have already seen improvement with my dog at home and relationship wise. My husband and I tried others but after meeting Alison for an initial consultation we knew straight away we needed her help. More...

We got our first rescue pointer via K9interventions, a few years ago, Harry was a very needy boy who had lots of issues due to his previous history. Alison and Ian gave us lots of advice and help to manage these and we had six very happy years together before he died of cancer. More recently we have attended their training classes for a young rescue pointer who came from another organization. Again, fantastic advice and support, we would happily recommend Alison and Ian to anybody who is looking for a rescue dog and/or dog training. They are knowledgeable, caring and totally dedicated to ensuring the best interests of all the dogs they work with. More...

I adopted my chocolate Labrador Barney from K9 and thought they were excellent. As he had some areas that needed to be worked on (as do most rescues) it was important that we were the right fit for each other. Alison was very clear to ensure that we understood Barney and his special ways. We’ve had him two years now and couldn’t be happier. Thank you! More...

It is hard to appreciate how much time, effort, blood, sweat and tears go into running a rescue like K9 and I personally can’t praise them enough. Their ethos really is about matching a dog with the owner. To ensure harmony and safety. They are thorough, as they should be and the ongoing care and support is second to none. We were introduced to K9 6 years ago, through a friend. We adopted our beloved Ted from them and I have nothing but kind words to describe them. We are proud to be a part of the K9 rescue family and would trust them implicitly Xx More...

Best thing about the work Alison, Ian and the rest of the team is reminding us that we, the owners need the help and training to be the best we can for our dogs. We adopted our fur baby 6 years ago. After going to meet Alison about the dog we were originally interested in we quickly realised that he needed more than we could offer. After discussion about our circumstances we found our perfect fit. Alison has the dogs best interests at heart which meant we both got the best outcome and more importantly our fur baby - which is the most important thing . When the time comes we will definitely be in touch to look at adopting our next rescue- in the meantime we have a much loved couch hogger. More...

We received amazing support from K9 interventions when we rescued Boyd (now Banner). After a turbulent start to life, we fell in love with the cheeky pointer cross that bounded around the enclosed field wanting us to play. We knew instantly he would be perfect for our family and arrangements were made for a house check and Boyd to move to us the very next day. The best 90minute journey we have ever made - we couldn’t be without our gorgeous boy. He’s the light in our lives ❤️ More...

K9 Interventions helped me with my “aggressive” gun dog. They gave excellent solid, easy to use advice, and were a godsend to me at a difficult time. And during the training and time spent, I witnessed compassion, canine understanding, giving 200% of their life to dogs with all sorts of needs, and putting themselves out to help/support/rescue dogs from all over the country. I recommend them wholeheartedly, for advice, help, support and all things K9! More...

Although we have not adopted from K9, we did years ago have to take our dog their for a few weeks when we were witnessing distressing behaviour with her. They worked hard to get her back to her usual happy self and we finally had our girl back. Their training, knowledge and expertise is absolutely undeniable. We were at a scary point where we didn’t know if we were going to manage beforehand and then came back to a happy pup! They also took our dogs last year when we were on holiday as our dog who we had sent years ago was now poorly and old and we needed skilled people to look out for her. They did a great job, too. She died in December and we did look at k9 for another dog but the one we liked didn’t fit our criteria and we were advised immensely well on the types of dogs to get or not get. They don’t rush and tell you to adopt one of their dogs. They specifically want every owner to find the right dog and every dog to find the right owner. We then found our next dog at a different rescue but will be forever eternally grateful for K9 helping us in so many ways. They truly are a fantastic business. If we were more local our dogs would be there for training and agility and we would help out more, but unfortunately we are just too far away :( More...

My mums experience was a positive one. After seeing an advert and wanting to rescue a dog K9 interactions couldn’t have been more helpful. We contacted K9 and talked about Chip now named Pickles. Alison was open and honest helping us to understand that any decisions made had to be right for Pickles and ourselves. We made an appointment and went for our first visit. Pickles was introduced and we took him for a walk. We didn’t make an on the spot decision but went home and talked it through. After leaving it a couple of days we re contacted K9 and asked for a home visit. This was invaluable Pickles being a Jack Russel cross had plently of places to escape. It was advised that the garden needed dog proofing we also talked about diet etc. Once things had been put in place at home we were in a position to say yes please and we couldn’t wait for him to arrive. Our whole experience has been a positive one with no rushed decisions and no pressure we would highly recommend K9interactions. More...

We have been very fortunate to rescue Barley from K9 Interventions - Alison and Ian. Their expertise and knowledge was second to none and their continued support has been invaluable. They 100% have ONLY the dog's interests at heart and to be frank anyone who doesn't appreciate and understand that shouldn't be rescuing a dog! They run a very small rescue and amazingly take in and keep those difficult dogs who otherwise would have nowhere to go. Those that can be rehomed are only rehomed to somewhere they trust will be right for the dog - that's the way it should be.We also attend training classes which are great fun as well as being really useful for training and bonding with your dog.We can't speak highly enough about K9 Interactions/K9 Interventions - long may they keep up the good work. Q&As

seeing happy dogs, happy clients and most of all hearing their positive stories especially if they have had a more difficult dog.

After being involved in dog training and dog rescue for many years I wanted to help people understand their own dogs so they could live happily together, enjoy them and have fun interacting with each other. The rescue side was out of total compassion and wanting to share my experience to retrain dogs so that we could find them forever homes.

I will welcome anyone that wishes to train their dog, I will adapt classes for you and even base my timetable around what my clients availability is. I will make agility equipment just so that you can be involved. Whether thats a giant tunnel for a nervous dog, a ting tyre for a chihuahua or a low dog walk for an older dog. I will try my best to make you laugh when you are training to make it fun, keeping you calm when you are feeling nervous, encourage you when you are lacking in confidence and give you lots of advice and tips to take home to put into practice out in the real world of dog ownership.

Online zoom training, training advice via email and remotely in our training area.

We currently train outside and in masks when we are together, we are social distancing, limited touching of equipment and antibacterial gel available. All chairs are cleaned between every lesson and refreshments served in disposable cups. Classes numbers are kept small so everyone has more than enough room to feel safe and we keep upto date with government guidelines.

Services

All Gundog breeds but main focus is springer spaniels.

We run a wide range of activities including agility, gun-dog work and obedience, scent work and toy training. We suggest working on your dogs overall interest in you but we can focus on just specifics if you prefer, lead work, recall etc 1 to 1 and group classes
