Just had a brilliant 1-2-1 with Steve. My GSD was lunging and barking at other dogs and walks were a bit of an ordeal. Steve was incredible and gave me the skills and confidence to successfully walk her past several dogs in our local park; somewhere I have avoided for the last year. I need to keep working on it, but now I know how to, and it has completely changed my mindset about how I should be handling my dog. Steve has just spent a few hours with our dog and already, as long as I have paid attention to the training, I can see a difference. There was no rush it was calm and informative. I got myself a puppy to train as my future assistance and mobility assistance dog. I chose a German Shepherd dog as I knew they were very loyal to their handler and highly trainable due to their wanting to please. I have a very bright pup who picks things up rather quickly. I knew puppies nipped but my pups nipping just seemed too much and my husband and I didn’t know how to control that or Ernies over excitedness when people come to the house so we called Steve. Steve arrived and had Ernie under control within minutes. Now Steve has armed us with the strategies to control our little land shark. We will put into practice all that we have been shown. We had a session with Steve today for our 2 year old Dogue de Bordeaux X Rottweiler who is very bouncy, barky and overexcited. He is also not very good at listening to commands from me! After just one session Ludo is much calmer and responding better already. By the end of a short walk he was also responding much better on the lead. After wasting a lot of money on 'dog trainer's I was fortunate to find Steve at K9 Handling and training. My boy Bailey is dog reactive after being attacked on walks 3times. One afternoon session with Steve gave both me and Bailey the confidence to enjoy our walks again. He gave me good tips on how to keep Bailey's attention so he is not worrying about other dogs. What can I say, Steve is a miracle worker ! My uptight anxious agoraphobic boarder collie had not been out for a walk in over a year. she would not let any visitors in the house and would growl and show teeth at me for no reason. The aggressive side to her has been there since I've had her (5 years). I had tried several dog trainers before finding K9 all of which couldn't help or never got back to me. Steve has made such a difference in the few times he's visited. My dog isn't as aggressive anymore and she's going out for short walks ( we are still working on that ). Steve came and helped me with my very energetic and hyper spaniel who struggled walking on the lead and doing any commands on a walk. with in minutes Steve had him not pulling and doing as he was told. it was as though he was walking a totally different dog. Steve saved my marriage today, my husband was so fed up with my beautiful dog Alfie’s barking and anxiety that it was getting to be the dog or me. Steve spent about 2 hours talking to us and training not just the dog bit the humans too. He is gentle and obviously very knowledgeable about dog behaviour. Having had a succession of bad incidences walking my labrador, I was feeling very despondent and anxious about walking him. He had developed a really aggressive and over excited demeanour whenever another dog came in sight. Steve spent a morning with us and literally transformed my dog! I'm sure he swapped him secretly :-) I couldn't recommend highly enough booking a lesson with Steve - I honestly can't believe he has helped us so much, so quickly! I only wish I had done so sooner. Now instead of dreading walking my dog, I am beginning to enjoy it again, as my confidence being out with him returns. Met with Steve yesterday as he had been recommended by a friend. He came to our home to help us with a very strong willed and disobedient Frenchie - Elvis. We chatted for a few minutes and Steve asked lots of question to gain an understanding of why we were having the problems we were. Then he broke down all the issues and dealt with them one by one, the hoover, visitors knocking, jumping up and then finally his lead walking. We had a intense 90 minutes where we learned new tricks and techniques. By the time Steve left for the first time Elvis was actually following a command. Needed help with our two 10 month old French Bulldogs for jumping up at visitors and walking on a lead. In particular one of our pups, Ralph, wasn't particularly friendly with other dogs either! After one session with Steve we could see an improvement straight away and he even managed to get Ralph to walk past other dogs without reacting to them by the end of our session! Amazing! Steve came round to help us with our reactive Border Terriers as walking them had started to become a nightmare. We were having to try and dodge other dogs on walks and the park was a no go. After an hour and a half with Steve we were actually sitting in the park with a calm dog. Steve came to help me and my staffie cross Buddy this week. We had a 1-1 and the advice he gave us has proven to work wonders. It's only been a couple of days but already buddy is reacting less to things at the window, showing less anxiety, settling better at home and walking better on the lead.
