We had a great experience with K-9 Companions! We have two young labs and they went through their level 1 training. It's amazing what they can teach a dog in just a short period of time. We appreciated the time they took with us when we picked up our dogs and answered all the questions that we might have. I have a new German Shepherd puppy that was in serious need of basic training because of his extremely high energy. I live alone which made the desire to have him under control even more of a necessity. When he was too young to get a rabies shot (14 weeks old) I found a private trainer that would accept him for 3 week basic obedience and keep him separate from any other dogs (full shots are a necessary requirement). That did help some and gave him a decent head start, but the results after a lot of $$ and 3 weeks away from my new puppy were not everything that is advertised, which is generally the same for most puppy “boot camps”. When he was a couple months older with all of his shots and much more work with him on my own at home, I decided to look for a more comprehensive training facility and was recommended K-9 Companions from somebody at the doggie day care he goes to. When I took him in for evaluation I anticipated that he would be going to the intermediate/off leash, 2nd level program. He was way ahead of the game from a first timer but not up to the standards K-9 Companions expects after their 1st level of obedience. He had to brush up and advance his basic training (sit, stay, heel, down, come, no, off...) for one week and was able to move on to the next level for the next 2 weeks. He came back a different dog! Still as sweet and playful as he had been from day 1, but he obeyed everything he was taught as if he was having fun doing it. When I take him for walks or anyone comes to the house, every single person who meets him can’t believe how well behaved he is for such an energetic puppy. I have even recommended to several people that they take their misbehaving or untrained adult dogs to K-9 Companions for at least basic obedience. I am certain that it has done as much for my dog’s quality of life as it has for my own enjoyment of him, and believe that would be true for any dog owner/parent. After a couple more months at home with me, he does SO well and enjoys working on everything he has learned so much, I decided to put him through more advanced training. I had already taken him back for short boarding and brush up training and he absolutely loves the staff, as they do him. No separation anxiety at all (I may have a little:) and he was genuinely excited to be back. There was no hesitation at all as the quality of the facility and the care he is given there is top notch. In researching dog training facilities the first thing reviewers and experts say is to do your homework on the facility, they are not all equal. I am 100% comfortable knowing my baby is in great hands at K-9 companions. He is currently there as I’m writing, going through his off-leash and advanced training. I could not recommend this facility and their staff any more than saying my dog is now on his third stay there and I know he is loving it as much as I will be when he comes home. The follow up training that is included has been invaluable more in the sense of training ME than my dog. He knows exactly what to do, it’s up to me to know how to properly communicate with positive reinforcement. This training is worth every penny and will pay back dividends with years of enjoyment for both you and your dog. I have owned many dogs throughout my life and never had one formally trained. I thought they were so smart (they were) but had never realized their full potential. I thought my own training that only came from years of repetition was enough. Our dog, Axel can get very protective and territorial around the house. He took the two weeks boot camp program and came home a much better dog. We love the results and also the stuff. Diane was very nice, she evaluated Axel and took time to call me with updates. His trainer was Khatia, she handled the dog with confidence, strong hand, but gentle and we had great results. We couldn't be more happier with the experience our Ben had at K9 Companions during puppy boot camp. The staff was kind, smart, friendly and extremely knowledgeable. The grounds were clean, well kept and large. Our Ben arrived and was very timid and shy. The friendly and helpful staff greeted him slowly and won him over immediately. When we picked up Ben after the two weeks, he was happy, energetic and excited to show us all he learned. Walking him before boot camp was not as enjoyable as it is now. Ben is much more obedient now and we are enjoying him more than ever. We love taking him to restaurants since we know he will can be trusted to stay in a "down/stay" command while we enjoy our meal. We have had our in home visit and took advantage of the training time we have at the facility as well. When we travel it is so nice to know when we drop him off to be boarded, he will also receive more training. Ben loves seeing the trainers and staying with them while we are on vacation. Excellent.We brought our rescue poodle mix for some training a few years ago. The owner met with us and assessed our dog. He was deemed easy to train and the owner suggested we look at less intense options . She was of course willing to train the dog, but really thought basic obedience would work saving us quite a bit of money. She was right and we have a wonderful dog.Fast forward a few years and we ended up with a giant breed that was over-turning our home. I knew exactly where to go to bring this 120-pound angel beast under control. I chose the field work option. We met once a week for 6 weeks. It was a lot of work on my part (and tons on their part ), but K-9 Companions eventually turned me into the master of our giant. Our dog is now a loved member of our family. We enjoy having him spend time with us. We have also used their boarding facility. Fabulous! We come home to a clean, tired pup who is happy to see us but is also happy to go back to boarding. We love K9 Companions. Our puppy attended the 2 week long puppy boot camp and came back extremely obedient and full of energy. His sweet personality was the same when he came home as when we dropped him off. The staff is kind, knowledgable and courteous. The grounds are well kept, clean and tidy. I was impressed with how willing they were to allow me to walk the entire grounds. I was able to view the kitchen, training fields, meet all the trainers and the area where the dogs are kept BEFORE making my decision. Our puppy learned all basic commands and how to walk next to us on a leash. We enjoy taking our Ben with us to local restaurants. Now that he knows the down/stay command, we can enjoy our meal and know he will stay in his area the entire meal. K9 Companions is the absolute best training facility we have ever used. Our puppy attended the two week boot camp and came back to us very obedient and happy. He learned to sit/stay, down/stay, come, heal, walking next to us on his leash, automatic sit, and the place command. We love walking him now since he no longer pulls on the leash. I am still amazed when we stop walking, he will sit next to us until we say heal. We often receive compliments on how well behaved he is now. As part of the two week boot camp, we had 1 in home visit and 5 visits at their facility to brush up on our training with him. I have loved coming to the camp to learn what I need to do to continue to have a well trained dog. The trainers are so kind and loving not only to our sweet furbaby, but our entire family. My furry child has been going to this place for about six years now. When I adopted her she was already partially trained but this place was able to pick up where her last trainers left off and finish the job. Also when we have to leave her for any amount of time we bring her here for boarding. My four-legged friend loves coming here and always seems super happy when she is there. We took our year old GSP to K9 Companions for their boot camp. We had tried a couple of private trainers and not had much success. He came back a new dog! Still the same sweet boy but now he has manners. I highly recommend K9 companion boot camp and training I have 2 very large Labrador retrievers that have been through their training and they are both amazing well behaved dogs they offer so much at this facility they’re amazing with the pets and their boarding facility is awesome you not only get to board them you also get training at the same time so they’re always brushing up on their training every time you take them to boarding which is awesome for your pet . After losing our beloved older female Husky, we adopted a two-year female Husky from the animal shelter. After bringing her home, the sweet dog that we met at the animal shelter suddenly became a holy terror. Not only was she driving our older male Husky crazy, she was biting and chewing on everything including us. After three weeks of canine craziness, we contacted K-9 Companions and immediately enrolled Sierra in the three-week Boot Camp. Now after attending Boot Camp and several follow-up lessons, we are proud to say that Sierra is truly part of our family. We took our Neopolitan/ Cane Corso mix dog here for training at about 1.5 years old, specifically because we needed to find a boarder that would take him. He is a big dog and also very dominant, so if he thinks he can get away misbehaving he will try. He pulled on his leash, constantly tested me and my husband and also had food aggression. In order to board at K9 you have to go through the full training program. They evaluated him and he stayed for about 3 weeks. When we picked him up they provided training for us, so we would be able to continue reinforcing the training he had been taught. The trainers came out to our house to continue the training. We were very pleased with the results. Our dog still has a dominant personality, but as long as we keep using the training on a regular basis (walking on a leash, commands etc.) he behaves great and I think he is much happier. We have been able to take the training he learned and use it to accomplish other specific behavior, like living with our chickens, he even herds them back into their yard when we don't want them free in our backyard. In addition we have been able to establish boundary training and feel confident he will not leave our yard if off leash and will also listen to our commands even if we are across the yard. The best part is that every time we board him at K9 we know that they are continuing his training and we get back from vacation with a very well mannered, happy dog. We recently got a Great Dane puppy who is now 7 months old and he is all set to go to "camp" too. I may have gotten lazy on the training with him on commands, thus far, because I know K9 is going to get him so well trained for us. I am looking forward to seeing how much he will learn!The boarding facilities are very accommodating and our Neo/ Cane Corso gets so excited when we drive on the property.
