Terrible experience in 2017 when we took our pup to him. She did the boarding training (puppy version) and came home with severe matting on her front legs. She was medium hair and the underside of her front legs were matted beyond fixing. This means she spent unknown amounts of time sitting in a kennel unable.to do anything lay there. Our dear friends lost their beloved Brooklyn due to Alan’s neglect:

My dog died with K-9 Direction and Alan Brown

I don’t normally use Facebook but I need justice for my dog and I will relentlessly pursue this until this guy is out of business and can never do this to anyone again.

Prior to leaving for our three week honeymoon overseas, we boarded our Bernadoodle (Brooklyn) with Alan Brown at K9 Direction on Friday June 23rd at 1pm.

On Sunday June 26th, Alan Brown took Brooklyn to Creekside Pet Care Center DOA.

On July 2nd, after multiple failed attempts to get in touch with Alan for general updates on Brooklyn, we decided to have our friends go to his home and retrieve him. It was only then that Alan Brown finally answered the phone and informed us that Brooklyn had DIED on Wednesday, June 28th and provided an inconsistent account of what occurred. Prior to this discussion Alan had been very difficult to get in touch with and would only communicate through text messages that gave us the impression that everything was fine.

After a group of our friends showed up at his house and we collectively grilled him for answers, here are the key details of the incident :

1. Heat Negligence: Our dog was left unattended inside a van during his training session (for over an hour) in the scorching Texas heat, which ultimately led to his untimely death. This level of negligence and disregard for an animal's life is unacceptable. The vet at CPCC received a distress call from Alan on Sunday evening, June 25th at 5:17pm. (We dropped Brooklyn off on June 23rd)

2. Deceptive Communication: When we reached out to the trainer for updates on our dog's well-being, Alan provided misleading information and failed to disclose the severity of the situation. This deliberate misrepresentation caused us unnecessary anguish and prevented us from taking immediate action. He failed to use the emergency contact we provided him and as a result we are unable to get an autopsy done. The vet we spoke with also mentioned that Alan insisted on cremating Brooklyn but thankfully he was unable to because they checked Brooklyn’s chip and realized he was not the right dog owner.

3. Lack of Transparency: Despite our repeated requests for a detailed account of what transpired and an honest explanation of the events leading to our dog's passing, Alan Brown consistently evaded the truth and provided conflicting statements. Alan’s lack of transparency raises serious concerns about his professionalism and the care provided to other animals in his custody. We feel his intention was to continue to mislead us until the vet was forced to cremate Brooklyn. He told the vet at CPCC that he attempted to contact my wife and our emergency contact multiple times and was unsuccessful. This is a complete lie.

We are devastated by the loss of our beloved companion and the circumstances surrounding his passing. Our painful decision to cut short our honeymoon and return to Dallas to lay our dog to rest is a testament to the love and bond we shared.

DO NOT USE!! A young, healthy dog passed away in Alan’s care due to negligence and abuse. I had been considering boarding my pup with this business for obedience training, but now I am deeply saddened and disgusted by the actions of this business owner. Alan Brown is a negligent trainer who has killed multiple dogs. He left a dog in the heat during 100 degree temperatures resulting in his untimely death. There was no transparency from his end as he lied throughout the week to the owner's about the dog's progress in training, when in fact, the dog had been deceased for a week. The dog passed within 48 hours of his care and the owner's were not notified until a week later.

The owner's asked daily for updates and Alan was always too busy to send a photo or a video of the baby. He would promise an update and it would never come. It turns out the dog had passed and Alan continued to lie and tell the owner's he was doing great.

DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS. This is not the first time dogs have died in his care due to heat exhaustion/dehydration. He refuses to show where the dogs are boarded, which is likely outside. Do not entrust your loved ones in his care.

MY DOG DIED WITH ALAN BROWN!

I boarded my beautiful German Shepherd dog Booster with Alan last summer, and he died on Aug. 2 at Alan's house. Alan admitted to leaving him outside too long during the afternoon. Then he put him in the kennel inside his home most of the evening during a storm. Alan said that he noticed Booster was panting heavily and pacing most of the evening. He said that he didn't think he ever cooled off. When I asked how much water he had to drink, Alan replied, "I don't know. I don't monitor that."

He left him outside too long when the heat index was 106 degrees. He noticed distress signals from Booster, but failed to act. When he found him dead in his kennel at 7 am, he left him there all day to rot, and then took him to Creekside Vet Clinic and put him in the freezer around 4 pm without ever talking to me or a vet.

He was boarding the dogs inside his home within the city of Arlington illegally. He had a total of 6 dogs plus 4 of his own at the time Booster died.

My family is still devastated from this loss. We loved Booster like another child and not a day goes by that we don't miss him. He was a healthy year and a half old dog when we left him, and now all we have left is a paw print.

I recommend keeping your dogs far away from Alan Brown and K-9 Direction! More...

I highly recommend Alan Brown's dog training classes. It made such a difference in our dog's life and ours. We adopted our dog as an adult and he was untrained in all aspects.
