My dog had surgery for a torn ACL in August and our Vet recommended aqua therapy a few months into his recovery.  We took him to K-9 Aquatics and Tara took excellent care of him.  He was definitely a little hesitant about swimming in a pool (doesn't like the steps going in) but it didn't take long for Tara to have him paddling around like a champ.  He looks forward to his sessions and can't wait to see her and start his therapy!  Tara is so friendly, loves dogs (which you can easily see in her interactions with them) and is knowledgeable about the physical therapy process . K-9 Aquatics was recommended to my by a friend who had taken her dogs there, and I'm passing along the favor. Excellent resource for dogs recovering from surgery or even dogs who need a little exercise. I'll be bringing my dog Bear when he's better just for fun! More...

My pup is not graceful in the water, I would say she can't swim. I didn't know that dogs could not swim being that they have that paddle named after them. My pup jumped in a wade pool at the beach and it looked awful very concerning luckily I had the long leash on and pulled her back in. Sometime latter she jumped into a lagoon and my heart dropped she floundered around and luckily made it back just as I was emptying my pockets. I called K9A and booked a swim lesson. People say it's far, it's really far like your thinking "I didn't know there was more earth this direction."  It's like a few feet from France, Eiffel Tower far. Good news is it's where they say it is and it's easy to find. I got two instructors. One in the water and the other acted more like s lifeguard. Very cool indeed. Lifeguards are fun and we need more of them in everyday life like at Intersections and narrow grocery store Isles. They put a little life jacket/vest (depending on where your from) on my pup and they did about 10 -14 laps looking for tennis balls and rubber chickens. They are so kind to the pets dare I say too kind. It's not summer camp or your parents throwing you in and that was the extent of your lesson. Nope they guided my pup around tried to make her a swan. But she is no sawn she's a kick asss Doberman in floaties trying her best to be like  Jesus and walk on top of the water like the boss lady she will be.  Until that happens swim class is appropriate. If your pup is suffering from any mobility issues K-9 Aquatics and Wellness is the place to go. Brixton was apprehensive to enter the water but after Donna showed him the step and eased him in he was fine. Donna takes great care in making sure the dogs enjoy their therapy. She doesn't rush then in and out of the pool. She works with each dog individually to ensure a positive healing experience.  Thank you Donna for your kindness and knowledge. Brixton can't wait for his next swim. More...

Let me start by saying that it took us 50 - 60 mins to get there so it's pretty far from where we live but we decided to try it because I really want to get my siberian husky more comfortable with water. I am blown away by the professionalism and high quality services. It was our first time so a swim instructor was provided for us. She was a total pro. We enjoyed our time there. I really want to go back for another swim. 100% would recommend it to my friends. More...

I loved going here - my pup had knee surgery and being a water breed, I used this as her PT. I had employee Tina with us for 8 sessions. Willow LOVED her! Water was clean & warm, Tina kept Willow moving.Unfortunately Willow turned out not to be such a fan of swimming, otherwise I would have happily continued to take her - but honestly I enjoyed my time there in the water chatting with Tina as well! My vet said I need to start my dog Gizmo on swimming therapy since her back legs were giving out.  Gizmo is a 12-year-old Corgi and has hip dysplasia for years.  The goal is to keep her going as long as possible. We are on our third week of swimming at K-9 Aquatics, and the results are AMAZING.  Gizmo never swam, and was calm and loved it from the very first moment.  She is moving her back legs more smoothly and regaining use of her footing.      The staff are pros that know how to work with dogs.  I would recommend K-9 Aquatics without hesitation.  Swim therapy works. K9 aquatics and Donna are the best. It's one of the only places where you can swim with your dog. The water is always pristine, super warm, and easy access ramp with pool ledge and stairs. In addition to this she provides life jackets, towels, toys and treats for after. My dog just loves it there! Donna also after swimming gives a couple of squirts of canine hair conditioner to my dog and a squirt of water drying medicine for his ears. Donna is so attentive and really cares about her canine clients and improving their mobility. My dog was carried in there in the beginning and could only float with a life jacket on,,now he walks in on his own and swims without a life vest for 30 minutes,,,she's a lifesaver for us! More...

Great place to swim your dog even if they don't like the water. Mojave had TPLO surgery and needed to build muscle back. Best way to do it was in the water. The team there was great. Donna is the best! I have been going swimming with my dog at her pool for more than a year! Her pool is always clean and nice and warm, but that isn't the best bit,The pool has enabled our dog to walk again,,,we carried him in a year ago and floated him with a life jacket she provides,,,and twice weekly swimming,,our lab is going strong and walking like he is a youngster,he suffers from osteoarthritis and we thought last year he were going to have to put him down. The warm pool and the free weight environment has worked wonders on his joints,if you have a dog with any kind of mobility issues try her pool! the results were nothing short of miraculous, within the week Biskit was able to get up and walk on his own!thanks Donna! I was super excited to find a place so close by without all these random restrictions that the other places have.. I've been looking for one for awhile now that does a 1 on 1 pool time and I'm so glad i stumbled upon this oneSo i called and asked all the necessary questions and booked 1 appointment right away! Since i work weekdays, i had to wait a week to get an early Saturday afraid that she might poop in the pool :( i didn't want to risk anything afternoon :PShe walked right in, trainers were super sweet and super helpful. Geneva jumped right in and swam like a champ. shes swam before in the ocean but this setting was much more fun and safe. I can't wait to bring her back, she had tons of fun and now shes tuckered out and ready to sleep. Thanks again ladies!! More...

My husband and I took our three doxies for a "fun" swim.  We had a blast.  The dogs did too!  Was very fun to just splash around and play with the dogs in the pool.  We swam with them, they took to the water like ducks, held them and had a great bonding experience.  Donna is a delight to work with.  If this was right down the street from us, we'd come once a week! We started out taking our 15 year old Aussie here when he started having trouble getting around...wish we had done it much MUCH earlier. He really enjoyed it for his last few months. The really warm water and indoor setting was great for an old dog with mobility problems even through the winter months.Having learned the hard way...that earlier is better...we then took our 12 year old Aussie who is an agility dog who kept having minor strains and sprains. She needed to visit the doggie chiropractor every other week. She is very hard on her body when she plays....so...now all of her ball playing is in the pool for a half hour a week! She loves it and starts barking when we're still a couple miles away. The strains and sprains seem to be a thing of the past, she has more energy and endurance and her agility runs are better than ever! And...the chiropractic appointments are almost unneeded! We were on vacation and missed 3 weeks in a row...and boy did she get out of shape fast...it took 3 weeks to get it back after the break. Swimming is a LOT of work!We wanted our younger dog, a 4 year old 70 pound Belgian Sheepdog, to learn to swim just in case he ever injures himself and really needs that type of exercise. He was SURE he was going to die if his feet were NOT on solid ground...we had given up on the idea at Fiesta Island...panic time in water above his elbows. He had no concept of how to swim. In just 3 visits, he went from "sure he was going to die" to retrieving a ball on his own across the pool! We all love the K-9 Aquatics and Wellness Center! More...
