What do you love most about your job?
Variety! Working with so many different people and sectors. Me and my team deliver NVQ Energy Training to all kinds of people and businesses. Over the last 12 months alone, we have trained over 2,500 people online, due to the COVID Pandemic and our numbers continue to grow.
We train people from all kinds of different backgrounds, from Plumbers and Electricians, to Retired Managing Directors and even Pilots who lost their job through the pandemic.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I worked in energy compliance and sales for over 20 years and always wanted to be able to change process for the better. I believe firmly that everybody is different and so there should not be a 'one size fits all' approach to training. We are down to earth, grounded energy professionals with the good fortune to have developed a very good reputation in the training industry. It has also allowed me the anonymity to support charities through the business and be able to 'give back', which is something important to me.

All our courses are provided online, and are followed up with remote support, for completion of the portfolio after the online training.

All courses are delivered online, so you can study in the comfort of your own home with no requirements to travel, or mix with others.
Online Training NVQ Level 3 Domestic Energy Assessment
A domestic energy assessor is responsible for producing an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC), for a domestic property.
An EPC is a mandatory requirement for any property in the UK, which is being sold or rented and the certificate is valid for a period of 10 years. The duties of the Energy Assessor are performed on-site in the property being assessed and the report will require the following details:
Establishing the age and construction method of the property.
Measuring floor and wall areas of the property.
Looking at heating systems including the boiler, heat emitters and controls.
Identifying existing cavity wall and loft insulation.
Identifying any alternative heating (e.g. solar) and energy-efficient products (e.g. energy saving light bulbs).
In addition to the above requirements for the report, the EPC now serves another important purpose, when considering energy efficiency measures, funded by the Energy Company Obligation schemes (ECO), or the ‘former’ Green Homes Grant initiatives.
