You all need to come and try this place out. We have been coming here for a few years and getting their cookies. Went this past month to get some cookies and to ask about their pies. Was so awesome. Picked up a Pumpkin, Dutch Apple, and the best of them all...a Pecan. Now my family knows Pecan pies because my mother in law bakes the best ones ever. We taste Pecan pies everywhere we go and nothing comes close to ma’s. Well until now, and the entire family agrees. We don’t live in the area but camp a lot in Pismo, so this will now become a “let’s get some cookies and pies” to take home event. And home is in NorCal for our adult kids and our siblings are in Fresno. I can see us driving over from Fresno just to get pies and cookies in the future. Stop right now!!   You gotta read this review.   First the hubby and I are dessert lovers.  And if you saw us you could tell!   Having said that, we are constantly looking for great dessert places and bakery/pastries shops.  We have been coming to this location for cookies for the past  2 yrs.  Sadly we don't live in the area but when we are down here we always stop. The cookies are off the chart. Yummy yummy yummy.   Now for the juicy super tasty part. The part where you start imagining you have a slice of their pie  in front of you.   Can you see it?  The smell, fresh pumpkin. apple, pecan to name a few....with or without whipped cream or ice cream.....my mouth is watering already!  Our family was staying in the area camping for Thanksgiving.   So in we go to get some cookies and ask about pies.  We ordered a Pumpkin, Dutch Apple and a Pecan.  Well those three pies barely made it through the first round of dessert eating, little piglets that we are, and there was only 6 adults and 4 kids.  We were fighting over seconds of each.  Our personal fav is the Pecan.   We are both 65 yrs old and the hubby's mom , hands down makes the best Pecan pie ever and we make the point of tasting pies everywhere we go.  No luck until now!!!!!    Seriously the entire family said their Pecan pie far exceeds my mom in laws Pecan Pie!   No lie, not exaggerating either and no joke that's a great fest in itself. So the family all goes home.  We stayed in Pismo to camp some more and our Pecan loving tummies couldn't take it anymore. We called and order 3 more to take home to the family.  That's if they make it home!  Our son is chopping at the bit for us to get our rear ends home.  "Like now mom" he says!Now this is where you get into your car and go hit this place.  If you don't you will be sorry and thinking and dreaming about their pies from now on and be kicking yourself in the behind for not doing it now.  Like right now. I had such a wonderful experience working with Just Baked at a recent wedding of mine. It was about 100 degrees and Just Baked went above and beyond to ensure their desserts were perfect. That included coming to the wedding venue three times! Once to drop of display items, once to drop off and set up desserts and once to pick up display items. Oh, and don’t let me fail to mention, that when they came to deliver the desserts it was 8:00pm. And so the winery gate was closed and there is zero cell coverage. ‍♀️ Just Baked jumped the gate, yes, you read correctly, and ran almost two miles until they found an intercom and was able to call the site manager. I’ll repeat, they jumped a full sized gate and ran 2 miles to get us the desserts!!! ‍♂️ ‍♀️ ‍♂️ ‍♀️ ‍♂️ ‍♀️ ‍♂️ ‍♀️ ‍♂️ ‍♀️ ‍♂️ ‍♀️ All that, and they still managed to deliver within minutes of the scheduled delivery time! Overly impressed does not begin to describe my feedback. But here is the best... The Monday after the wedding, I asked our bride, Ally, if there was anything she would have done differently. Her only regret, was that she and her Groom did not get a cupcake! (Don’t worry, I saved the entire top tier of the wedding cake for them.) Normally I pack up quite a few leftover desserts. We booked Just Baked SLO as part of working with Gusto on the Go for our Wedding day and was blown away by how beautiful and delicious the desserts came out. The swiss meringue buttercream on our wedding cake held up perfectly and I love how it tasted, not too sweet and very light. ALL of our guests loved the tiramisu cups and tarts. Libby makes the best cakes (and all other baked goods)!! We went and got cupcakes to try out some of her flavors and *wow* every single one was delicious! We ended up choosing the Triple Lemon one which is just so divine. Also highly recommend their Belgian Waffle Cupcakes, i think they're my all-time favorite cupcake now. My husband and I only needed a cutting cake (photo-op cake) for our wedding since we had an ice cream truck doing dessert for the guests but Libby was great to work with and made our 6" cake so yummy and pretty! My family froze the extra cake while we were on our honeymoon and it kept very well and was still just as delicious two weeks later :) More...

We got two bars from the tiny standing-only shop in Santa Margarita when wine-tasting at Ancient Peaks next door.The shop is very small but has a large selection. While the prices are on the higher side, you're paying for handmade from-scratch bakery items that are well worth the price.We tried the brownie bar that was buttery, fluffy, perfectly chocolaty and not too sweet as well as the lemon bar that had a wonderful natural lemon flavor and delicious powdered sugar on top. I can only base this review on one cupcake I was fortunate enough to taste after my landlady brought home a six pack and invited me to have one. Fresh and soft and made with real ingredients (no margarine here kids, no boxed cake mix containing such poisons as partially hydrogenated soybean oil and artificial flavors ), As soon as that real butter in the buttercream frosting hit my mouth, I knew...I am so not a cupcake snob or connoisseur. As a Chef, I am aware of the patience and creativity needed to perfect the ideal cupcake. Whomever baked this cupcake at this place has mastered the talent. (And I give total props cuz I take same kinda batter and make a cake out of it lol) I can't share any experiences with the location or the staff, as I mentioned in the beginning. This is the best bakery I've ever had. Decadent. Magnificent. Supremo. If I can give you one piece of advice... go for the toffee cookie. It's ugly. Whenever a cookie is ugly you know it's real. When you eat this cookie, the song "Beautiul" by Christina Aguilera plays in your head.Cupcakes and cakes and all that other stuff gotta be all pretty and meticulous looking... I get it. But  cookies.... cookies gotta be ugly. Shrapnel of chocolate chunks exploding all over it with ponds of toffee goo scattered throughout this thing.If you like cookie cutter cookies stick with chips ahoy. Just Baked is one of my favorite bakeries so I jumped at the chance to take their Let's Make Cake class to improve my home baking.  I left today with a lot of great tips, a printed recipe, and a 3-layer 6-inch cake to enjoy.  Libby was a great teacher and generously shared her expertise and encouragement.  It was a fun time and was well worth the time and money.  I hope there are more classes offered. We ordered a three tier naked cake for our wedding - the layers were strawberry, lemon and chocolate. I can safely say (and in my opinion without bias) that it was the best wedding cake that I have ever had! My husband and I loved trying all of the different varieties of flavors in cupcake format leading up to the wedding. And in cake (and larger) format, it was just as good (and better because there was more!). I've wine tasted at Ancient Peaks for a few years never knowing this place was here. I was missing out for sure. The samples were plentiful and super yum. ..but they had nothing on my planned childhood fav, the rice crispy treat and red velvet cupcakes. The location is quaint and very clean. The pastry bar has a boutique feel.  They offer keurig coffee, cookies, cupcakes, scones and lemon bars. It's the perfect pastry bar. They have some of the best chocolate chip cookies I have ever tasted! It is the one with caramel and is gooooey good! We have lucked out and been next door at ancient peaks on a Saturday afternoon when they bring in the leftovers--so lucky! Everything is delicious!

Wow, where do we begin? Our wedding cake by Just Baked was absolutely stunning to look at and even better to taste. Libby instantly got our vision and designed the perfect 3 tiered wedding cake. It was so hard choosing flavors (all are delicious), but we went with red devil, lemon, and ollalieberry. Everyone will tell you that there is always leftover cake at weddings and we had none left it was that delicious! We are already dreaming of going back for our anniversary cake. Libby was fantastic to work with. She custom made French macaroons for our reception party. They were divine, and I know, because we eloped in Paris just a few months earlier and I ate my way through their pistachio French macaroons. She made us thirteen different varieties and had a nice selection of flavors to choose from. We also had mini lemon and key lime tarts. I prefer tarts that make your mouth pucker over sweet tarts and though these were not the "tartiest" tarts I've ever tasted, they sure were good! My sister is getting married this November and Libby is making her cake along with an assortment of other goodies for their dessert bar. I haven't tried everything she has in her bakery as we live in Virginia, but I have it on good authority that everything she makes is well worth the calories consumed. More...
