Julep's New Southern Cuisine

We’ve been going to Juleps for years. The food is always delicious and the wait staff are wonderful! Recently diagnosed with Alpha gal and dairy allergies it’s a challenge even at home. The waiters and kitchen staff have been so accommodating!! The chef is always willing to tweak my order and work around the allergies. Made reservations to celebrate my dad's Birthday! It was our first time there, and everything was fantastic! The reviews on their bar were spot on, the drinks were excellent! ! The food was delicious, the desserts to die for, and out waiter was nice. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because my mom ordered the shrimp and grits entree, and she was only able to eat the grits because the shrimp were extremely spicy!! I should have assumed being a true Southern place that entree would be spicy, but maybe it would be an idea to indicate it on the menu for guest to know before hand. Mom's mouth was entirely blistered the next day, and remained that way the entire week, but she did say that minus the spiciness her dish was very good! Lol More...

Right from substituting oil for animal fat for frying to removing meat from their dishes. The service was great and the food was delicious. We got 5 appetizers and everything was excellent. There are a lot of great places to eat in Richmomd, but this was one of the best experiences I've had in a while. The servers are friendly and knowledgeable. The decor is perfect for a night out or a business dinner (as was our case) and the food and drinks are inspired and delicious. I was overwhelmed by the options on the menu and have a habit of letting the server pick for me in these scenarios. Our party of 5 called last minute on Saturday at 8 and they were able to get us a reservation for 8:15. We were greeted, seated and our waiter proceeded to review the menu thoroughly, making each dish sound as mouthwatering as the previous.
