I bought the full modeling portfolio for my daughter as a Christmas present and Joyce did our two sessions in February and March. I can't recommend her highly enough. Not only were the photographs amazing (helped by her super professional makeup and styling team) but she also helped orient us to the modeling business, which we knew absolutely nothing about. Further, she taught my daughter how to pose and position, and helped her feel entirely comfortable in front of the camera. Joyce was honest, direct yet very supportive for both of us, and fun to boot. As we went through the pictures, she gave terrific advise and tolerated our back and forth with patience and great guidance. I heard about Joyce from a friend who used him for her wedding. I saw the pics and knew immediately that I would have to have him! We didn't bother interviewing any other photographers.Our engagement shoot went amazing and the photos were priceless.On the day of the wedding he made everything so low-anxiety and was so professional. From the moment my daughter and I walked in the studio it was a great experience. Joyce was very professional yet personal. She made my 16 year old daughter feel very at ease with her first photo shoot. Joyce taught my daughter so much and helped her choose the right outfits for the different looks she wanted to create. Joyces' style and guidance was instrumental. Serena, the incredible makeup artist should be working in Hollywood! She transformed my daughters look from simple and natural to sassy and fun and then to glam and dramatic, all while teaching her style tips. I’m so glad to meet Joyce and the make up artist Serena Falsini! I’m not experienced model but they did the magic! Joyce not just took a pics, she actually taught me how to be a model: she dressed me in the beautiful outfits, explained how to place my body against the camera, showed what to do with my hands and a lot more!
Make up from Serena was incredible! Without make me look like a doll she emphasize my facial features, the eye makeup is to die for and my lips never looked that full!
I had so much fun with a great outcome! The best photographer! With Joyce you got perfect body position, face expression, make up and hair - result is that you don’t need a photoshop at all!

My first professional photoshoot was done with Joyce. Joyce is an amazing photographer! I've  been going to her for 3 years to do all my pageant headshot photos. It would be realistic to think that a distinguished picture, which captures your most striking self and is a delight to keep, is not easily attained. For someone like me, who would get photographed individually using professional services only rarely, it requires work: planning, preparing and getting ready for the camera. New to the world of professional photography in New York City, I found Joyce through the internet. And once I had done my part, Joyce took care of the rest. Her camera and her expertise actually made it happen.
On her studio’s website, I found many useful tips about clothing and color choices, make-up and accessories. I personally benefited from the information, as it helped me plan my two sessions with her. I went to her the first time for a personal portrait and the second time, for a professional head shot. Joyce’s studio had a variety of background colors to choose from, and I could find the right medium to let the colors I was wearing perform with dazzling effects.
I must say, Joyce ensures that you get the results you had hoped for. Patience, inspiration, and a keen sense of observation - she has it all. In an unobtrusive manner, she lets you relax, warm-up, and respond to the camera with the right posture.
I remember, after spending the first 10-15 minutes during each of my sessions with her, we had started to collaborate, and the picture shots she took, began to reflect a higher level of participation from my side. Eventually, she got me ready to represent my cheerful self with confidence and ease. In the company of Joyce, there was no shying away from what it required to achieve a brilliant shot. A definite progression in my performance before the camera, enabled by Joyce’s dedication, made the experience truly enjoyable as well.
Each time I visited her, I got a picture that I could not have imagined myself. And when the actual prints arrived in the mail, their quality and finish provided additional pleasure. I am so glad I found Joyce, who produced such lovely pictures for me that they brought applause from colleagues, friends and family. The pictures were admired for their quality and charm, the credit for which squarely goes to Joyce.

I audited one of Joyce Anderson's modeling pose seminars and came out of it with a heightened appreciation for the work of both models and photographers. I enjoyed hearing about Joyce's experiences both in front of and behind the camera. She was very methodical explaining and demonstrating for us why it is important to stand in certain positions, and which body parts to showcase. I also found it very helpful that she had hired a model for the day to demonstrate for us all of the subtleties that go into a successful photo shoot. Listening to Joyce explain why it is important to stand in certain positions and how to hold your head and posture while at the same time witnessing the model adjust her body and facial expressions and used props/clothing items was very effective. Lastly, Joyce really got all the participants fully engaged by having everyone introduce themselves and explain why they were interested in the class- there was a wide range of people such as aspiring models, actors, fitness models, and social media star-wannabes who all were able to get up in front of the backdrop and attempt to showcase what they'd just learned. Most importantly I learned you must be in touch with your body and be fluid with your motions, and to be fully engaged and channel your inner feelings when in front of the camera . Effective model posing is so much more than just going through the motions! I would highly recommend this class for both aspiring models, or for anyone who wants to improve their social media photos. I was looking for a great photographer to capture some pictures of me and my mom together. I wanted to be able to have some casual pictures of us together since we really don't have any of just the two of us and our family is so large that there's always someone else in the picture! I also wanted some memories for her to share since she lives in Texas and only gets to come visit occasionally. Joyce was PERFECT!! She and her wonderful assistant spent so much time with us just capturing different shots. We had a great time with her creating this lifetime memory together and have AMAZING photos to share of it!!
