Jos and Tree are not simply the most talented photographers we have met in our lives. They are also the most caring, positive, energetic, and kind human beings. They wore many hats during our 4-day long wedding in southern France: photographers, wedding planners, troop gatherers, counselors—all of these with a huge smile on their face. Jos and Tree are the greatest! We loved having them shoot our wedding. The quality, care and artistry in their work is self-evident; their portfolio is filled with beautiful, creative shots. But not only are they exceptionally talented in this dimension, they are also incredibly organized, accommodating, and all-around lovely people who came onto the scene and immediately felt like old friends. My husband I are were lucky enough to have Jos and Tree photograph our wedding. Not only did the photos turn out great, but they were such a pleasure to work with! We had a small wedding (only 25 guests) so each person really stood out. Jos and Tree felt like guests more than anything else. Everyone at the wedding enjoyed their company. They have great energy and helped us stay calm even when things got a little hectic. Their photos are artistic, but most importantly authentic. Jos and Tree were my photographers for both our lifestyle/engagement shoot and our wedding, and now I will consider them lifelong friends. They flew to Hawaii to do both with us, and the experience can only be described as magical. They were referred to us along with a few other photographers but I was hooked after I looked through their portfolio and saw a variety of different styles and types of photos. They had such a unique, creative eye and no wedding or shoot looked the same. During our first meeting over wine and charcuterie at a local place here in Portland, we discussed the wedding and got to know each other and they seemed more like friends than just another vendor we were working with. We bounced ideas off each other and came up with a plan that my husband and I were so excited about. We met once more to go over logistics before we all left for Hawaii and kept in touch regularly throughout the process with questions and ideas about locations to shoot for the lifestyle portion. The day before our wedding ended up being the best day to shoot our lifestyle/engagement photos and we opted to do it in two locations. The first location was at a beach, and we did an underwater "trash the dress" shoot and had a complete blast. It was so fun, and we had our family and friends there playing in the water with us and watching. I wore a "fake" superlight wedding dress, and my husband wore his real wedding outfit, and the pictures were breathtaking and ethereal. Such an amazing experience that we will never forget! The second part of the shoot was the lifestyle portion and we did part of it on a black sand beach, and the other part on the black lava rocks/cliffs against the ocean. Jos and Tree worked together fluidly, timing our shots perfectly with the waves crashing dramatically against the rocks in a few shots. Throughout the whole day of shooting, we never felt awkward or like we were in a formal photo shoot- they kept us laughing and really captured us in the moment and feeling the love. During the actual wedding, Jos and Tree were somehow able to capture so many special, candid moments from so many angles without us even realizing they were there. Together they have such a creative eye and we were able to get very unique shots of us individually, together as a couple, and with our family and friends and the entire wedding celebration. It was really hot and humid and they were both running around without complaining to get the best shots from these great angles around the property. After the wedding and reception, a spontaneous pool party erupted and Jos and Tree were right there with us capturing us in the moment with our friends, having a blast. Jos even braved the pool to get right there in the action with us and capture those crazy moments. They really went above and beyond my expectations and to this day, almost a year later, my family and friends still rave about how great they were and how hard they worked, and of course, how my wedding photos were gorgeous and captured the intimate, fun, romantic vibes of the wedding and celebration afterwards. I give Jos and Tree the highest recommendation. They are amazing photographers and down to earth, great people and made this experience really fun for us- and again, blew my mind with some of the shots they got.
