My wife and I are elated at the quality and professionalism of John and his photography. John shot our wedding in August 2018, which was in a medieval church in the City of London, with the reception venue by the Thames across the water from Westminster and Big Ben. The photographs he took of us and our guests are breath-taking, colourful and lively, totally capturing the beautiful venues and the happy atmosphere of our day from start to finish. We were addicted to looking through the photos on our return from honeymoon! John himself was absolutely superb. He was extremely hard-working all day long, flexibly adapting to various changes in the programme as required, with the utmost professionalism. Having photographed my brother's wedding we knew we wanted John to take our wedding photos. John shot our Stoke Newington wedding last Saturday. After considering lots of different photographers, we chose John for his sharp but relaxed style, ability to manipulate light beautifully - and because he seemed like a top bloke. On the run up to and, of course, on the big day, we knew we’d made the right choice. John seamlessly blended in with our guests, effortlessly guiding/instructing everyone to make sure we got the shots we wanted, but also capturing the informal shots that showcased exactly what our big day was all about. The weather might not have been exactly as we’d planned - it tipped it down all day - but other than a few fun umbrella shots (which we love), you actually can’t tell; John’s images are still light, bright and airy. We got back from a short honeymoon last night and we’ve been poring over the photos all this afternoon. We are so delighted with the images - they capture our day exactly as we remember it! What a superb choice for a wedding photographer - John is so easy to work with, friendly and with the ability to get all the shots done whilst being discreet and quick. John has a superb eye for capturing the moment, we are thrilled with the huge choice images he produced, there are some absolute showstoppers amongst them. Having been completely overwhelmed by John’s amazing photos which far exceeded our expectations, we really can't say enough good things about him and his work!

From the beginning, the whole experience was a real joy - we had an initial meeting to discuss plans and, importantly for us, check chemistry, followed by e-mails confirming details and finally the day itself. John's style, attitude and charm shone through - putting us, our family and our friends completely at ease and enabling him to produce such fantastic work.

With his subtle, non-intrusive approach and clear direction when necessary, John captured every aspect of our day, creating a beautiful story which reflected both the emotional side and the fun we all had. John was fantastic. We chose him to photograph our wedding as his photos seemed to capture something that others we looked at didn’t, and sure enough they look great. He met with us before the wedding to answer any questions we had, and was always responsive on email. He was also really helpful giving us suggestions about timings when we were a little unsure, as he knew the venues which was a big bonus. He listened to what we wanted and we never felt silly asking questions.

John worked really hard on the day, ensuring he was always in the best position to capture the key moments. We were particularly impressed with how he managed to get all the group shots we wanted in a very short time before we had to vacate the area outside our venue. He was a discreet presence, but was always on hand to take additional group shots at the reception.

John has captured our wedding so perfectly, we couldn't have asked for better photos to remember the day from.

All our friends and family have commented on how amazing the photos are and John really captured the relaxed and happy vibe of the whole day really making the most of the beautiful setting at Babington House.

We would recommend him to anyone as his laid back and informal approach put everyone at ease on the day but he was professional and efficient with it , meaning there wasn't a single moment he missed.

I'm so impressed with John's photos of our wedding day. Both my husband and I are quite camera shy and hate being the centre of attention but John worked tirelessly to get varying shots - even in poor light and rain! - and we have so many lovely options I don't know which ones to choose! He was wonderful at working with the children too and so discreet during the church service. We asked John to be our photographer for our wedding at the Rosewood, London in April this year, and we were so pleased he accepted!
We found John by looking at the online photos available of other weddings that had recently taken place at the Rosewood, as I'd been given the advice to go with someone who was familiar with the venue and knew how best to use the spaces available. This then led us onto John's wedding photography website, and his photos caught our eye as we loved his reportage style, and the stories that he told through his photography. We met up with John before the day to have a look at more of his work and get to know each other and had a great time!
On the day, John couldn't have been nicer! I was a pretty nervous Bride but John made me feel completely relaxed. We were able to chat a bit as I was getting ready, then after the ceremony, the three of us went for a walk with one of my friends, who helped me with my dress and makeup etc., and John took some lovely portrait shots of me and Dave, using some gorgeous spaces in and around the Rosewood. I'm not sure how many photographers do this but it was so nice as it gave Dave and I the chance to have some time together just after the ceremony, before we went back to celebrate with everyone. John then took some group portraits, of the two of us with immediate family that we had asked John for previously (although John's style is reportage he does take group portraits and was more than happy to take as many as we wanted and any ad-hoc ones we requested on the day). John was so nice and great at coordinating everyone for the group photos. We had a lovely confetti shot too, which in retrospect, must have been a nightmare to coordinate 100 people, but again, it flowed seamlessly all thanks to John and we've got some amazing moments captured on camera from this!
We honestly then didn't notice John taking any photos for the rest of the day, but we've got some amazing shots of the speeches, people enjoying each other's company before/after the food was served and some great photos of everyone's dancing and enjoying themselves in the evening.
Dave and I don't usually like photos of ourselves and seem to squirm in front of most cameras but we're thrilled with all of John's photos and we're going to have a tough time deciding which ones to print as we're so happy with them all. Fantastic photographer! We are thrilled with the photos John took of our wedding and are certainly having a hard time narrowing down our favourites! John managed to capture our day so intimately, but allowed us enough space to fully enjoy ourselves. His laid back but professional nature put us at ease all day.

When we met up with John to discuss our wedding we knew instantly he was the man for us - neither of us have ever felt so at ease so quickly. We had an engagement shoot a couple of weeks prior to the wedding, which was absolutely the best thing to do - he was able to get used to our foibles and my fear of the lens.

The day itself was just perfect - most of the time I wasn't even aware of his presence, yet somehow he captured every moment of the day, every person there and charmed the entire room. The resulting photographs are, quite simply, beautiful. We never dreamed we could look this good.

We hired John for our civil wedding ceromony in London and he was fantastic ! He was incredibly easy to work with, he gave us great directions and respected our wedding agenda perfectly. John was very flexible and easy going. We received a bespoke website page to share with our friends not only one week after the ceremony with a selected number of pictures and a couple of days later I received a USB stick with all my pictures edited. Felisa and I found John via the internet. I thought we was taking a risk using someone that was not recommended for our big day. Thankfully we made the right choice. We met with John prior to the wedding to get a better understanding of our needs which was comforting and made us feel more at ease.

It has been a great pleasure working with John over the past few months. Every time I emailed John which was a few times he always replied back in a timely manner. Not only is John a great photographer he brought a lot of joy and fun to our day (and he did make me laugh a lot). He is pleasant, professional and has a real talent because our photos were stunning and John captured the most amazing photos of our wedding and caught some magical moments. The quality of his work combined with the speed with which we received the pictures was impressive. We can honestly say out of the thousands of photos taken there wasn't one we didn't like. Considering John wasn't familiar with both venues we chose he did a spectacular job.

John is an absolute pleasure to have photographing your wedding - warm, fun and easygoing when doing the more formal shots so that everyone immediately relaxes, then magically melting into the proceedings so that he can capture natural moments between your loved ones. Cannot recommend John highly enough. Your photographer is someone you spend a lot of time with on your wedding day. From getting ready, to the ceremony and beyond. He is someone who will instantly put you at your ease (especially if you are not a center of attention type of person) and he takes some wonderful natural photos. He does not ask you to "just do that again" or pose in an unnatural state, he gets the photo first time.

Does the thought of being photographed strike fear into your heart? Do you freeze into an awkward marionette-like pose the second you hear the click of a camera shutter? Then John is the man for you.

When we met with John to discuss our wedding, we knew straight away he was the perfect choice - we were at ease instantly. We had an engagement shoot a couple of weeks prior to the big day and the results were spectacularly good. He got to know us better, see how we react with a camera on us and he made us laugh. A lot.

On the wedding day, we almost didn't know he was there. John moves with ninja-like stealth and captures all the moments that you miss as a groom. Every person, every group, every Scotch egg. The tears, the laughter, the awesome dance moves (and some of the terrible ones). He charmed absolutely everyone in the room and he made us all look beautiful.

Just a completely brilliant experience from start to finish. The pictures are perfect. They are true and they are moving and they are US, in all our happy, emotional, messy and hilarious glory.

John worked his socks off for us on our wedding day!! His commitment to the task was commented on by our guests a number of times and the photographs are very telling of his dedication.

We really wanted to find a photographer who could and would capture the day in all of it's natural glory and John totally nailed it for us!
