My husband and I chose John to shot out wedding and we could not have been happier with him and the photos. What a nice, talented, genuine guy he is; so attentive, calming and considerate. He managed to always be in the right place at the right time without being noticed and caught some truly unique and heartfelt moments, not just of us but our guests as well; that was the most special to us. We trusted him completely and he grabbed us whenever there was a good photo opp during the day, without disrupting anything. What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Light, its all about light - but you also need to be in the right place, at the right time... and be ready! So I guess there are actually a few secrets to a great photograph.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
Erm, depends on the project. The most important thing is to know what the client actually wants... for a wedding there might be a look or a theme thats important, special guests and things happening throughout the day that are really important. For commercial projects, corporate packages of headshots and offices etc, or interior design shots - it is important to know how the final images are going to be seen and what message we want to convey through the shots, that might be an ultra modern, sleek look, or a traditional, professional feel about the shots - so understanding the final product is really important at the beginning.
What do you love most about your job?
It's photography, so... everything. Just being creative everyday for a job is fantastic.
What inspired you to start your own business?
If you are a creative person and like to work on a variety of creative and artistic projects then starting your own business is crucial, it gives you time to work on what you are passionate about.
Why should our clients choose you?
I think I'm good at what I do! I've got lots of experience too, I really enjoy what I do and from the feedback I regularly get, clients enjoy working with me.
