I've been training with John for the last 7 weeks. In that time I've lost nearly 1.5 stones, 3 inches off my waist and my overall fitness as increased greatly. If you're looking to get in shape and improve both physically and mentally then I highly recommend John's services. He knows his stuff, he won't judge and he'll work at your pace. I am a single parent, working full-time, Mon to Fri. I have 2 teenage sons who have great demands on my time. I started my 1week trial with John at the end of July. .. TBH... I wasn't very optimistic at first and after the first couple of sessions, I almost gave up. I have been on a big weight loss journey over the last 15 years, having dropped from 23 stone and averaging about 14.5 at my best. I found running and enjoy distance running and for a time this was enough, it was cardio and it ticked the box. As Im quickly approaching my 40's I decided I wanted to take things a step further and lose the bulge and start toning as well as improving my running time.I'd never been interested in hiring a personal trainer before as I always thought I could lose the weight if I wanted too, and have always been a fan of a good fad diet and loosing half a stone in a week. Unfortunately I never kept the weight off, and never toned up.I decided to take the plunge as it would force me to try something different and found John on Google, he was local had good reviews so I got in touch and we spoke and had our first meeting to assertain what I wanted to achieve. Each week we would talk through progress, through weight and waist measurements as well as my calorie intake. What has really supported me was the bodyweight exercises that fit in with my hectic work and life schedule not requiring a gym, just a few weights and a bit of space at home. Over the 6 weeks John has helped me make minor adjustments to my food intake and workouts to help me lose 8 pounds and go from 41 to 38 inch on my waist. (you can see the difference in the pictures).On top of the above John has gave me some tips around setting longer term goals, setting a consistent routine and setting me up for success on my journey of losing weight and toning up. John is very honest, very personable and has helped me achieve some key goals in the last six weeks, but also given me the confidence and empowerment to continue on from my initial goals. I've been going to bootcamp for just over two months now. I thoroughly enjoy going & have made some lovely friends. John is a brilliant trainer & is always motivating us. It's never a dull moment in camp & a laugh (John's jokes)! I've actually lost about half stone & clothes are getting looser (which I'm estatic about). Highly recommend John's sessions - having just completed a 13 week course with John with a group of mixed ages, fitness levels & objectives, everyone in the group has not only achieved significant weight loss & increased fitness levels, but also learned valuable lessons on how to maintain an ongoing healthy lifestyle. Really enjoy the 12 week programme that I did with John. Weight loss was not just what I got from my experience, it was a good balance diet a dynamic approach to fitness and overall healthy life. I’ve been going to bootcamp three times a week since last October. The groups are well organised and fun. The exercises are rotated to hit different muscle groups (this also keeps me interested) and I am feeling much stronger. My core is much improved. This is the most consistent I have been with an exercise routine and I am feeling the benefits in my mood and overall well-being. I have never calorie counted before but this along with advice I have been given along the way by John has had a very positive impact. I have a better relationship with food. I would recommend Fit Brummie Bootcamp to anyone who is looking for a realistic long-term plan for staying healthy and enjoys training with like-minded women over the age of 40. More...

As a child who grew up in the 70's, I am used to being outside having fun. Maybe that's why now in my 50's joining the Fit Brummie Bootcamp has been the best thing I have done for a while. I stumbled across John on Facebook at a time when my weekly weigh-ins at fat club were making me very frustrated; handing over my £5 every week and not seeing any results on the scales was really beginning to get me down. I knew things had to change so I applied for a free trial, was accepted and turned up to find John and a group of women who I could easily relate to.I can honestly say that I have thoroughly enjoyed the last two months, attending 3 sessions a week, each session different in terms of the exercises we do and the conversations we have! I still have my stubborn half a stone to lose, but I have lost a total of 10.5 inches from the circumference of my body and I am actually beginning to like myself again - both in terms of the way I look and more importantly the way I feel. I'm now into my 7 week of this programme and I absolutely love it. I feel in control and I have so much energy. I have lost 1 stone 1lb up to now and my ready now to focus on the next stone. This programme works when you are ready to make the change. No you can't eat what you want all the time, but the weekends are a time to look at the foods you missed in the week and to have them so you don't feel like you are losing out on the foods you enjoy. The exercise again isn't easy but if you want the weight loss you just have to do it, it does take a lot of courage but it's still a thousand times better then been overweight and you can do it and at your own pace. John is an inspiration he's been and done it himself so I know I can too. If you listen to what he says and you follow it you will feel amazing. It's not easy but anything in life worth having isn't easy I have 5 more stones lose and I'm ready to get rid of it!! have my life back and for the first time but in control of the food instead of the food controlling me. Happy Customer!! I’ve had a 6 week personal training programme from John and I’m now transferring that to Boot Camp. John is professional and very knowledgable about the psychology behind issues with food and exercising. The sessions were tailored for me, which was great, and designed to give me the tools that I need to break out of my bad habits and help me to have a plan and accountability for my eating. Alongside this I learned a series of ‘do at home’ exercises and pre and post workout warm ups and stretches to help me to incorporate fitness into my overall programme. I have lost weight and I feel like I have a plan to continue to my target weight without hideous dieting and to maintain my fitness. At the age of 61 and with a lifetime of yo-yo dieting, very little exercise (cos I hated it) and 3 stone overweight I decided I needed to do something different to get myself back to a healthy weight and with a lifestyle that incorporated a regular exercise routine. I’d tried Weight Watchers several times in the past and had been successful but wanted something that was home based and gave me diet and exercise accountability. I’m retired so cost was a consideration but I decided it was worth the investment.... and it was. I’ve lost 10lbs in 6 weeks and have a manageable exercise routine - was incredibly unfit and can feel a huge difference. I started working with John in January 2016 initially to maintain my weight and improve tone. He has a completely holistic approach to fitness so that I understand what motivates me and what I need to improve both mentally and physically. I not only feel fitter, stronger and more toned since working with John I also feel I have a more positive attitude generally. I attended a free trial very nervously as I have never done any exercise class or been to a gym before! John was so supportive and all the ladies made me feel welcome. I never imagined I would enjoy it as much as I do. It has really worked for me and after just a few sessions I could feel the benefit, feeling fitter and trimmer. John makes it fun and it feels relaxed even though it's hard work! I actually look forward to doing excercise now! John also gives great advice on diet and strategies to help you stick to it. About 7 weeks ago I saw a video on Facebook about a free trial at Fit Brummie Boot Camp. Over the past year or so my weight had increased, a mixture of the usual stresses and strains plus I’d started a new job in a large team where there are birthdays or celebrations every day (and the ‘goodies’ are right behind my desk! ). But I’d got to that point where you know you need to do something. So, I took the plunge. I didn’t know what to expect and was really (really) nervous but John is very welcoming and knows his stuff (as he says - he’s been in the same situation so knows what it feels like). It’s an all ladies group, and they are all very welcoming. The training is outdoors which I really enjoy (as I’m cooped up all day it’s nice to get some air), and it’s all core strength. It’s hard work (but isn’t it meant to be?), we have a bit of a giggle along the way and you do feel you’ve achieved something at the end of the session. Seven weeks down the line I feel healthier, I know my fitness levels have increased, I’ve lost about 8lb in weight and have met some lovely people. If you are thinking about taking the plunge my advice would be to just do it and see what it’s all about. More...

I joined John's Bootcamp 6 weeks ago, a decision which was a bit spur of the moment. I wanted to get more active, improve my fitness and hopefully lose a bit of weight along the way and knew I needed to make a change. From the 1st session, despite being slightly apprehensive as to what awaited me, I was warmly welcomed into the fold. The group is always relaxed and friendly, the sessions non-competitive and all-inclusive, catering for all abilities and fitness levels. I’ve recently joined Fit Brummie Boot Camp and I am really enjoying! I’ve been looking for a fitness solution which would fit round my busy life a a working mum and I think I’ve found it! The sessions are challenging (what’s the point if they’re not!?) but equally eveyone is encouraged to go at their own pace. There is all the support you need from John (who truly knows his stuff) and the others in the group. Eveyone is so friendly and welcoming, which made it a lot less daunting to go in the beginning. John’s sessions are more than a Bootcamp. I refer to them as small group personal training, as they cater for everyone’s different needs but with the company of other people. I joined not for weight loss, but to develop a regular fitness routine that was both structured and flexible. I enjoy all sessions, in all seasons! The workouts are varied, but simple enough to cope with my lack of co-ordination. John is a great leader, and inspires you to do more for your own health and fitness with both personal and professional advice and experience. In addition to this, I have made some great friends. Everyone who attends is different, with varied commitments and lifestyles. We have built an excellent community; and despite being nervous for my first session I now enjoy catching up with people and hearing about their lives as we work out together several times each week. I urge you to give the sessions a try, especially as you get a free taster. We are very welcoming, and we were all new once so know how it feels to be the newbie! I have been attending John’s Brummie Bootcamp since September 2017 and have loved every minute. Since I have started I have lost just over 2 stone with a mix of bootcamp sessions and healthy eating. John provides an excellent, achievable diet plan and regular inspirational stories and advice to help you on your journey. I have previously attended the gym, however didn’t keep it up as I “got bored.” John’s bootcamp has not left me feeling that way at all, infact I now enjoy exercising. I was a person who hated exercise and would feel very self conscious about people watching me exercise, however John and his ladies make you feel so welcome and I have seen huge improvement in my fitness. The ladies who attend bootcamp are so lovely and real women who you can relate too. Now I am not scared or embarrassed to exercise and my confidence has grown greatly over the last 7 months. I started seeing John about 8 weeks ago and I am thoroughly enjoying the work outs at home. They are tough but I always feel so much better when the hr is over with John. He gives me little bits of his wisdom every week which have inspired and motivated me.
He has given me new knowledge on a lot of things relating to different foods and maintaining a healthy lifestyle that I want to achieve.

I attended John's Bootcamp sessions for over a year. I always enjoyed exercising outdoors - walking and the occasional cycle - so regular classes in the park felt more my thing than joining a gym. I was amazed how quickly my fitness and wellbeing improved. I am now the fittest I have been in a decade, I haven't had a day off sick in all that time and I can actually do press ups for the first time in my life!

After many years of trying to lose weight on my own, but to no avail, I decided to seek out the help of a personal trainer and I can honestly say it has been one of the best decisions of my life.

I have been working with John for 8 weeks now and in that time, I have gone from 17st 9lbs to 16st 9lbs. As well as the weight loss, I feel stronger, I understand the process of what is needed to achieve my goals, I am in a manageable routine and above all else, I feel happier than I have felt for a long time.

Being a full time teacher, with many other hobbies and activities as well as my job, I always thought that I wouldn't be able to fit exercise and healthy eating into my lifestyle. However, John has helped me to understand and realise that it's the small changes that will eventually lead to the big gains and as a result of this, I am beginning to feel more in control of my life and I am able to manage my time more effectively.

John is very down to earth and doesn't bombard you with heavy 'trainer' info. Instead, he is to the point and gives you the info that is necessary, whilst remaining friendly and approachable.

I am still very much in the early stages of my journey, but so far it has been a journey that I have enjoyed and I am looking forward to seeing where it takes me.

I contacted John on a whim as I needed a new approach to exercise. I really wanted to make it an enjoyable part of my life again but didn't feel I could do it in my own.
John has helped me get my head around some pretty bad thinking patterns I've developed over the years. His approach is holistic, personal and honest.
Woking with John for just 6 weeks has lead to me hold a different approach to life, food, exercise and pretty much everything really.
And I've learned so many good Quotes!

My friend recommended me to join John's boot camp and I'm so happy I did. The sessions are tough going but are always worth it, John has an excellent sense of humour and is great at motivating everyone to keep going while not pressuring you by analysing your every move. This suits me down to the ground as I have never been much of a gym goer. I joined johns 4 week boot camp competition.i was nervous about going and meeting john but he is very easy to get along with and not once did i feel intimidated or out of place. his bootcamps do what they are supposed to do and in 4 weeks i lost 8 lbs. its not just about fitness but teaching yourself new eating habits too.since the competition ended i feel lost not going to johns bootcamp so will be continuing as a paying customer.in my opinion it is worth every penny when you walk away feeling good about yourself. I live in the states and happened to hear John speak about weight loss online. I was 40 pounds overweight at the time. Since working remotely with him via a weekly coaching call and group webinar I have shed 20 pounds and 2 dress sizes. I have truly made a life-style change and my daily habits reflect all that I have learned. The personal and group coaching is no nonsense simple information that delivers results. The food plan is amazing and I never feel hungry because his philosophy is about keeping our food real, practical, balanced and sustainable. After losing over 50 pounds myself I appreciate how hard the journey can be. From my experience of working with people, people struggle with routine and habits more than anything else. What I do is help manage health and fitness as part of everyday in a normal and practical sense. You can't just give every client the same coaching and hope for the best. I appreciate there is a human being at the other end of the process.

Accountability and simple tasks broken down for the individual. You also need someone to help you up each stair of the staircase as you go instead of expecting too much too soon.

Changing lives. Not just getting people fitter or maybe losing a few pounds, I mean changing live's. Giving people confidence, control and a sense of self worth is priceless.

Losing weight myself and wanting to help people through the journey.

I have been and done it. I have also studied nutrition and behavioural strategy to give people tools that will last long after any exercise session.
