John is a fantastic photographer and did a brilliant job photographing our wedding this past July in Oxford. We met up a few days before to ensure timings worked and we explained some shots we hoped to get. John was attentive and sensible, writing down where we'd go and how much time it would take so it could fit into the evenings' plans without an issue. On the day, John was on the ball in so many ways. He moved around the church effortlessly during the service, and the organised photos after were done quickly and efficiently. When we went off for our photos, John knew where we would go and didn't waste any time along the way, ensuring we got great shots and that we stuck to the schedule. We mentioned we wanted to try and get some photos while punting, and he happily agreed. A photographer who can punt and take brilliant photos is talented! Timings were perfect, and even later in the evening when we went out for some more photos, it took 20 minutes and was very effortless. Our guests later mentioned that he was so subtle and quiet with taking photos during the day, most didn't even notice the shots being taken. We've received the photos and we couldn't be happy with how it went on the day and the photos we now have. John is a truly talented photographer. It is very difficult to capture people on the move and in the moment of things but he does it so well. He was the official photographer for an Oxford conference I attended and the photo he took of the delegates were the best I've seen in any conference. I have absolutely nothing but amazing things to say about John. He's professional, extremely talented, friendly, kind, a great communicator, and a real pleasure to work with. We did one shoot early in the summer and another shoot recently in the fall, the latter eagerly assented to on his part because we both thought more shooting in sunset lighting would really take the set of photos he was creating for me over the top. The photos John took of our son’s wedding far surpassed our expectations. John captured not just the moments but the essence of the atmosphere of the day in beautifully taken shots. The more conventional group photos we’d requested were perfectly constructed. Booked in for a set of "mug shots" to be taken, and was really impressed. Very careful use of kit, lighting and background - infinitely better than anything from a passport photo booth, a "selfie" or simply getting a friend to take some pictures. To be recommended.

John was undoubtedly the best investment we made for our wedding. He managed to capture the essence of the day, each of our guests, and the 3 venues we held our wedding in around Oxford with a style and creativity beyond any of the other 30 or so photographers we researched. He was very personable, flexible and unobtrusive to the extent that I couldn't believe he caught all of the shots that he did. Looking back now after a few weeks, the memories fade and life continues, but I'm so glad my wife and I decided to up our budget and go for quality as the photos really bring back to life the amazing feeling of the occasion. John really went above and beyond through the whole day and managed to get an extraordinary propertion of winning shots from the 400 odd images he provided us with. John was an absolutely outstanding wedding photographer whom I would have no hesitating in recommending to anyone.John photographed our wedding on 25th June 2016. We have just received the full set of photos (within three weeks!) and are totally blown away by the quality of the photographs and the way in which he has captured the emotions of the day - he has crystallised some amazing memories for us. We could not have hoped for a better result! In particular he has managed the seemingly impossible task of making us thrilled that it rained on our wedding day as he has such wonderful pictures of reflections in puddles.Not only are the photos incredible, but John was an absolute pleasure to work with on the day and before the day. He was extremely responsive and put in work before the wedding day visiting the venue and working out what shots to use. On the day itself he managed to be totally discreet - I barely noticed him but according to the photographs he appears to have been everywhere at once! My husband is a keen photographer and so photography at our wedding was one of the most important things to us. My husband particularly loves the reportage style of photography. There are so many wedding photographers around but we were looking for something exceptional. As soon as we saw John's pictures on his website and his facebook page, we knew we wanted him to be our photographer!! He was our no.1 choice. Throughout the booking process, he was happy to answer questions on the phone and was always incredibly friendly. We met John before the day and talked through our wedding day and got on brilliantly with him which really put us at ease. Now, for the most important bit!! John was soooooooooooooooooooo amazing on our wedding day, I couldn't recommend him more, totally unobtrusive but really friendly, smiley and adaptable. He was quite literally more like a guest at our wedding than just our photographer. We have had comments from our friends and family saying how much they liked him! And finally, the PHOTOS.... phenomenal, so many precious moments captured, John has the most creative eye so we have some absolutely beautiful pictures - they look like they came straight out of a magazine. I booked a portrait photo session with John a few week ago. He came over to my office, set up his equipment and started snapping. What sets John apart from other portrait photographers I have worked with in the past is the speed at which he put me at ease. I was initially a bit nervous and stiff but John put me at ease by having conversations with me that got a varied mix of natural expressions from me. One of the best decisions we took when arranging our daughter's recent wedding - inviting John to be the official wedding photographer! He was superb throughout the whole day.
