I had a really positive first time experience here this morning for a Jogified Sweat class! There were only 5-6 people (all ladies) in this class today, probably because of the horrible snow. The place was not hard to find - there's a big side wall sign that reads Joga House. The studio is downstairs and unfortunately there's no cellular reception, but the space is very modern, clean, and spacious. The instructor was very professional, caring, and so strong! I've never been so exhausted from a yoga class! The moves were fast, but still slow enough for a beginner to follow, and focused on the full body. If you've never done yoga or Pilates before and/or not that fit, some of these classes might be too hard. However, the classes do range in difficulty, so starting with a level 1 class would be fine. Joga House has some incredible deals and is definitely one of the more budget friendly boutique studios in downtown Toronto. There's a student rate and even an unlimited first month for first timers offered at a discounted rate. Lastly, they have all the towels, locks, mats, and equipment for you. So just bring yourself and get your sweat on! More...

Jana has built an amazing program here. Being an Ex-Athlete, you appreciate the physical aspects of JOGA.
I look forward to many more sessions at the house!

I'll admit it - I watched all of Real Housewives of Toronto.  JOGA is the creation of Janna Webb who was one of the ladies on the show. I'm really glad I found out about JOGA! This studio is beautiful and the yoga programs are a perfect mix of athletics and yoga.I've always had a great experience here. They supply mats as well so you just need to bring yourself and be prepared to sweat! More...

Joga House has my vote - there are so many perks! Freshly-cleaned yoga mats are laid out and ready to use, locker rooms provide locks and plenty of space for commuters on the go, along with showers, clean towels, toiletries, free WiFi, and filtered water. And did I mention the studio space is gorgeous? What's not to like?Joga was created by Jana Webb to bridge the gap between the traditional practice of yoga and the biomechanics of sports. If you ever visited the Energy Xchange (now closed), you might have tried Joga classes there. I tried a JOGA Energize: Level 1 class with Bianca Li, and it was very challenging (but also rewarding). The studio is warm (not quite 'hot yoga'), but perfect for ensuring you're able to get the most out of your practice without feeling too cold or stiff. Bianca is an excellent instructor and consistently provided verbal guidance and cues to ensure participants can follow along without constantly needing to look up. This is such a simple concept, but it's vital for getting the most out of classes. Overall it's a very challenging workout, perfect for people looking for an alternative or active recovery practice on top of their other athletic activities. I was not able to do all of the poses, but I like that it gives me something to aspire to. The staff were all extremely friendly, professional, and eager to ensure my experience here was as positive as possible. I recommend you arrive early for your class and let the instructor know if you have any injuries or limitations; the size of the classes will ensure you have appropriate feedback and modifications (if needed). My only additional thought is I wish they offered restorative classes here; it seems like the ideal setting for that, although I guess they might need to invest in additional props. More...
