I can't say enough about how amazing and personable Lily is, she did our newborn session with our two week old and was patient and kind. Lily makes you feel beautiful and her smile and laugh are absolutely contagious. She was sweet and accommodating throughout our entire process from engagement photos to the day of the wedding. Lily is a down to earth, real person who is willing to help in any way she can to make sure that your photos turn out.The only real downside -- I did go with a second photographer, but I felt that her photos and methods did not compare to Lily's which left me without some key shots that I wish I had known to ask for (but had assumed she would have snapped). Lily is amazing! I followed her on Instagram and fell in love with her photography. I had the opportunity to see her work at my co-workers wedding. I finally had the opportunity to book her recently for my maternity photo session. I have to say she is the cutest, down to earth, friendly and talented person. Really enjoyed working with Joe and his team ! Our wedding was on a summer day in July in Newport. The team was so professional and energetic. They were able to capture all our special moments and also the venue's beautiful scenery with the drone. I booked with Lily after meeting with her and my finance for coffee. Her personality is warm, friendly and driven. I originally was not going to do an engagement shoot, however it was included with the package I picked. I am so happy we did the engagement as it gave us time to practice and get comfortable with a formal shoot. We couldn't have been happier with our photographer. It's obvious that wedding photography is Joe Kim's passion. He really gave it his all. Having not taken professional photos before, we were worried we'd feel and look awkward but Joe made the entire experience so much fun and helped us loosen up and get creative. He flew up to San Francisco two times for our engagement shoot and on the day of. We did our engagement shoot at Lands End and he even squeezed in taking some beautiful pictures at Bernal Heights. On our wedding day, he helped keep us on schedule and just felt a part of our wedding party. He took amazing pictures of us at Deer Park Villa in Fairfax and during our cocktail hour, we snuck away and took some pictures in the mountains of near Mt. Tam. I met Lily when we both attended a photography workshop that was hosted by another veteran photographer. Lily's hyped and bubbly personality immediately made us close. I saw how Lily work during the workshop; dedicated and focused. I believe those are the two top qualities you want to look for as a photographer. As an amateur photographer myself, I look up to her for guidance since she was very knowledgeable in the Photo Industry. I saw her how she worked with our model couples and was impressed by it. After the workshop we ended up keeping in touch. Fast forward to almost 9months later, me and my Fiance needed a last minute engagement photoshoot. Lily was the first person who came up to my mind. I already know how she works, and her style was also the style me and my fiance are both looking for. I immediately contacted her and she responded in a timely manner, she made sure what me and Fiance wanted and she gave us options where to shoot our engagement photos.We ended up taking her suggestion to have our photoshoot in  LA Art District. The day of the shoot came and all I can say was that it was terrific! Me and my Fiance felt really comfortable with her. She was approachable, funny, energetic, and thinks outside of the box. I also like that her style is more geared towards "natural lighting" versus crazy mad edited photos we see on social media nowadays. My favorite part of the photoshoot (aside from her being talented and creative) was she took time and sat with us to get to know us better. "This wedding video is beyond beautiful...I felt like I just watched a movie...got me all teary-eyed...omg left me in tears. ..So romantic...best wedding video I've ever seen...so perfect...absolutely beautiful...Amazing vows...this melted my heart...so magical..." My husband and I couldn't have chosen the perfect cinematographer to be a part of our special day! From meeting him to the final product with Joe, we had confidence in his work. He's quick in response via email, worked with us in all elements to producing the dream wedding video we had envisioned. On the day of, he and his team were professional creating scenes/ moments that felt so natural. They weren't "in your face" or "getting in the way," it was seamless. We didn't want the typical wedding video, we envision something beyond that. And Joe Kim delivered! As you can tell from the comments from our friends, it perfectly showcased how we saw our wedding day.

We first saw Joe's work through our family and immediately loved his work. We decided to use him for our engagement session and wedding day. Joe was always available and easy to get a hold of whenever we needed. He was very friendly and easy going during our engagement session and made sure we were always comfortable.

Our wedding day was a big hectic but Joe handled everything with such calmness and grace. We had an extremely big wedding party and guest list and Joe was able to capture everyone and every moment without getting overwhelmed. Our pictures were PERFECT and so gorgeous! Joe is very creative and he was very good at directing us and the people around us to get the perfect shot. Something I really liked was that I never felt like he was in the way of us, our guest, and was just able to capture the wedding exactly how we wanted it. I can't even begin to explain how happy we were to find Joe Kim Studios! We are a Canadian couple who were married in Palm Springs this summer and Joe was phenomenal in communicating with us via email, arranging an engagement session that worked within our short time-frame and producing the best pictures ever! On the day of, Joe was the perfect blend of relaxed and directive enough to get what we wanted. He (and his second shooter) made everyone feel comfortable in front of the camera, which was quite the accomplishment for us and I have heard nothing but glowing comments about our photos. Joe's style was a perfect match for us (light, airy, relaxed) and he has a way of capturing this feeling regardless of the surroundings. So many wonderful things to say about Lily! I first hired her for my maternity photo shoot in 2016 and then a year later for my daughters first birthday/cake smash pictures. My maternity shoot was amazing, Lily made sure the entire experience was one to remember. Her energy and enthusiasm is so contagious. I loved every minute of it, even the hike back up to the street was memorable, she held my hand all the way up and made sure I didn't fall, she even asked if I needed water. She was so attentive and made the entire experience unforgettable. Now, the pictures...I mean,I felt beautiful and whatever the day of the shoot but when I saw the pictures, I was blown away. Like why am I not a model Just kidding, but seriously, they where amazing. My daughters pictures where nothing less than expected. We first saw Joe's work through a friend and his work was just amazing. We decided to use him for our engagement session and big day. We couldn't be any happier with our choice. Joe is an easy going guy and with his personality it really helped us be ourselves in front of the camera.

Our pictures were gorgeous, he captured every single moment in such a great way. When he says he's a natural light photographer, he sure is. I LOVE Lily and her work! She is just amazing! Looking for a photographer and deciding on one can always be a little nerve wrecking or even scary. But I am so glad we chose Lily to do both our engagement session back in May of 2016 and our wedding photographer in June of 2017. She definitely makes sure you feel relaxed in front of the camera. She has an attitude of "let's have a ton of fun" while we do this, but also keeps everyone professional. And I love that about her.
