Having Jo do henna on me was so much more than having my skin decorated. I was emotionally and physically exhausted before she started which she recognised, she quietly and gently held the space for me, allowing me to sleep while she created her art on my feet. I had the most amazing sound healing session with Jo today. It puts you in this extremely deep, relaxed state, both physically and mentally, whilst you remain fully alert. There is nothing quite like it. It is like having a massage, only for your brain/mind. Jo gave me what I now know is a sound bath last week. I went with an excited open mind and was immersed in a beautiful vibrational soundscape which took me to a place of very deep physical relaxation but also serenity and contemplation in the mind. It was a unique experience and I have spent the last week wracking my brains for a skill swap for another session. Jo helped me create the mother blessing I needed to help me create my home birth atmosphere and prepare myself mentally and emotionally for the changes I was about to encounter when I had my second child. She has a wealth of knowledge as a doula, spiritual healer and henna artist. What do you love most about your job?
Working with people to deepen their experience the wonder of life; its up and downs and how all of these experiences make us more perfectly imperfect humans.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Serious illness and a period of being unable to work led to a huge shift in perspective. Working flexibly, and within my healthy limits means I can continue to support others and fulfil my calling to be of service.
Choral Singer
I have been singing in choirs since my school days and have continued to do so over the past 20 years. I primarily sing in the mezzo sporano and alto range. I have a Music degree from the University of Liverpool and currently sing with the Cambridge University Musical Society Chorus. During this time I have sung under yhe baton of Stephen Cleobury, OBE and Sir Roger Norrington and in concert with the Philharmonia Orchestra and Bryn Terfel.
