How can someone tell if their loft is suitable for conversion?
Generally, if your loft space has an available head height of 2.2m or greater from the top of your existing ceiling joists to the bottom side of your ridge board (this is usually in the centre of the loft space, at the apex), then we’re off to a great start. In some cases this measurement can be slightly less than 2.2m depending on the structural requirements in terms of depth to the new floor joists and beams.
Run us through the different stages in the loft conversion process - what’s involved?
Once you have made your initial contact with us, we will arrange a convenient day and time to complete your FREE survey and issue a quotation based on our discussion usually within 48hrs. Once our quotation has been accepted, a contract and payment plan will be drawn up and sent out for you to sign. A deposit of 10% will be requested and held for a 14 day cooling off period, where, if circumstances change, will be fully refunded. Once the cooling off period has passed, JMA Lofts will involve it's architect and structural engineer to get the ball rolling, and within 2 weeks, your conversion will be ready to start on our next available slot. (this is based on permitted development, where planning permission is required, this may take a little longer)
