Maths
Maths is a cumulative subject. Without the basics in place, students are storing up problems that will surface down the road. Most of the issues that we see are because a student has missed a topic, or just “didn’t get it” and, in a classroom setting, there is seldom a second chance.

My daughter spent the last two years of primary school being tutored by JJ’s they where excellent in there approach to helping my daughter grow in English and Maths, her work was tailored to help her improve and she always came out happy. Plenty of homework given out but with focus on the individual child’s needs. My daughter was struggling at school with her maths as she clashed with her maths teacher. With her GCSC's just 18 months away and needing a good grade in maths in to get the college course she wanted I decided to enrol her into JJ's tuition for some extra help with her maths. After just 2 weeks she said she felt more confident in her lessons at school. She has had part one of her maths exam and come out feeling very confident that she will get a good pass. She has her part 2 on the 12th of June and is actually looking forward to it. The extra tuition has given my daughter the confidence to go to her maths lessons at school and be able to do the work set by the teacher, if she was struggling with solving a particular maths problem she would approach her JJ's tutor and ask for help she would then have the method explain to her fully until she understood exactly what she had to do. What do you love most about your job?
Seeing the progress students make even within a short period when work is tailored to their needs. We work closely with students, parents and school information to tailor our tuition to the individual student, helping them to make secure progress in each session. Although we work in small groups we are able to focus attention on the individual student making them feel involved and motivated to make effort on their own behalf.
What inspired you to start your own business?
The demand for quality tuition by professional qualified teachers. As a one to one tutor I found that my diary was quickly full and that I had to turn down enquiries that otherwise I could have helped. By building a team of qualified able tutors we can now serve a much wider range of students having a greater impact on the learning of many more students than would have been possible as an individual tutor.
