What kind of accounting services do you provide?
I provide a comprehensive service for all businesses and companies (and their owners) which includes everything from bookkeeping to the preparation of management & statutory accounts. I also prepare tax returns of all kind - personal, partnership, corporate, VAT as well as appropriate accompanying advice. I largely use cloud based software of varying kinds but am very flexible.
Why is it so important for businesses to hire a great accountant?
The one thing all my clients have in common is that they're passionate about their business and making it a success. This often doesn't include wanting to spend hours keeping on top of accounting and tax requirements. There are changes afoot in the required reporting to HMRC and Companies House (and this may be exacerbated by Brexit). Many small business don't need a Finance Director but do need the input that one could give - a smaller Accountant is more likely to give the client this service, this little bit extra, leaving them to get on with their business
What do you love most about your job?
I love having a variety of local clients who all work in different sectors and in different ways. It provides me with an insight into so many different industries. I love seeing clients with great businesses, thrive and grow - to be a part of the support for that is immensely satisfying.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I trained with a 'Big 4' firm and then worked in media, travel and manufacturing and so have a range of different skills within the accounting industry. After a career break, I started working with various charities and doing outwork for a local accountant. I then decided that the aspect of my job I loved the most was the client interaction and being able to help them directly so thought it was time to branch out on my own.
Why should our clients choose you?
Clients can have confidence that deadlines and requirements will be met in a friendly and approachable but professional way
