What do you love most about your job?
Helping people to achieve their goals in health and fitness. Improving the movement potential in clients and helping to relieve their aches and pains.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I came to practise Pilates as a result of an injury to my lower back, which I sustained during my BA Honours degree in Dance Studies with Biology. As an active young lady, who had danced from a young age, my injury meant that I had to completely modify my lifestyle. I tried many remedies to help cure my back pain but found Pilates so helpful and enjoyable that it inspired me to share the benefits with others and spurred me on to become a Pilates coach. Having suffered from dance related injuries for many years, I understand first-hand the value and potential Pilates can play in healing, rehabilitation and body strengthening. Only through Pilates am I now able to manage my back pain, which has allowed me to resume a more dynamic lifestyle.

I trained under the world famous “undisputed First Lady of Pilates” Lynne Robinson at Body Control Pilates (BCP). BCP is internationally renowned as a leading body in Pilates teacher training. The organisation is reputed for the way in which it trains teachers to break down and adapt the exercises of the ‘classical’ mat series, created by Joseph Pilates, in a way that is accessible to all. Clients can therefore enjoy the benefits of Pilates within the realms of a safe and challenging workout. Teachers that train under the Body Control Pilates Method have the versatility to tailor their classes to meet the needs of every individual, from the first time exerciser to the most elite of athletes.
I am young, friendly, bubbly and full of life. My Dance degree from Roehampton University has given me a solid understanding of anatomy and physiology, the body in movement and the requirements for optimal performance. This proves an asset to my teaching and helps to make my classes dynamic, accessible, interactive and fun.
What makes me unique as a teacher is my attention to detail and my ability to motivate people. My aim is to make Pilates fun and accessible to everyone. I am a firm believer that Pilates is for people of all ages and different body types. These attributes are also upheld in the instructors who teach for Jessica Pilates.
My particular expertise includes Pilates for rehabilitation and osteoporosis as well as pre and post natal Pilates. I undergo continuous professional development to ensure that I keep up to date with the latest information regarding pain, rehabilitation and the body in movement.
