We have had an outstanding experience with Brian, the owner, coaching us for our two black lab mix pups. He is extremely knowledgeable about assessing and developing a plan for your individual dog(s) and your desired goal needs. Brian is an excellent teacher for the human owners thoroughly explaining how dogs interpret things, teaching the training procedures and making sure you are performing the new skills with your dog correctly. He is very generous with his time and is more concerned that everyone is on the same page and fully understands the new skill taught rather than watching the clock. Most of our sessions ran over the alotted time frame (because we needed lots of help!). He is flexible with scheduling and will even take field trips if your best friend needs help behaving in public. Brian encourages owners to contact him during the training process with updates and questions and if he doesn't hear from you between visits, he will reach out to you to see how things are going. It is rare that you find a person so knowledgeable, caring and professional. Our dogs have made GIANT strides since we began the training. Brian has definitely helped us with our continuing goal of "Life off the leash". More...

It had been 10 years since we had a puppy and we didn't want our Shih Tsu/Bichon mix puppy to be in charge of us! Brian was wonderful. He knows exactly what your puppy/dog needs to be emotionally and socially healthy to be able to live in harmony in your family. He holds puppy classes at Klems in Spencer, Ma. There weren't any other puppies signed up for class, so we took the step to hire Brian to come to our home. Best decision we could have made. The investment we made will last our Glinda's lifetime. Thanks Brian!!

Before we first met with Brian, both my husband and I had considered returning our little rescue puppy, Zimma, to her previous shelter due to what we viewed as aggressive behaviors which included "hurtful" biting. Before beginning Puppy Kindergarten we expressed our concern that she would bite the other puppies, disrupt, etc. However, after the first class we were delighted with all that we had learned about ourselves and about puppy behaviors. After the last class we left confident that we had the knowledge we needed to continue Zimma's training. We consider ourselves fortunate to have met Brian. During our initial meeting Brian assured us that he would be totally honest about all the concerns we had and he was. As a result we learned so much about puppy training and Zimma has become a loving member of our home. We recommend Brian without reservation. More...

We had adopted a 8 week old rescue and wanted a well behaved dog. Knowing we needed a trainer, I approached an owner handling his dog in petco. I liked the approach he was using and asked him if he had a trainer. That's how I came to know Brian.
Brian came out to our home and worked with us, 3 adults and one active puppy.
First thing was committing to consistent handling of the puppy among the 3 of us. Brian identified our different handling styles and worked to get us all one the same page!
We worked with our dog in 3 stages of her early years. Puppy, advanced puppy, teenage years.
Below are many of the behaviors we worked on.

Puppy:
Potty training
Nipping at feet
Chewing
Integration with senior dog in our house
Crate training
Leash walking
Socialization
Desenitizing to noise, crowds, busy environments.

Stage 2 :
Leash pulling
More socialization
Off leash
RECALL
Door bell
People visiting.

Stage 3:
E collar.
We had many conversations about using an e collar. First was it a good fit for our dog? What would we hope to achieve?
Our family desired to have our dog be able to be safe off leash. She has a strong prey drive for rabbits and chipmunks. We were afraid off leash we would be walking her and she would get lost or hit by a car.
Brian was very knowledgeable in this area. And we would never have used one unless under guide of a seasoned trainer.

Our training has led us to the dog we dreamed of having. She is well behaved in and out of the house. She does not jump on people or furniture. She lays down while we eat meals, she does not bark meaninglessly, she is not afraid of new situations/crowds/ noises, she has very good recall, she can hike off leash in our neighborhood and on long hikes far away from home.
Brian is Great! Our well behaved dog is testament to his knowledge of dogs and owners. He was always available by phone to questions we had in between sessions.

I strongly recommend Brian to anyone looking to getting the best out of dog training.

I met Brian Jennings about 25 years ago when we got our Rottweiler. Because Rottweilers came with such a bad rap, I wanted to make sure that I wouldn't have any issues. We had 7 sessions with Brian and Clint was putty in our hands. (in actuality, we got trained, the dog already had it in him.) Brian just showed us how to get it out of him. He even brought other dogs into the picture so there was plenty of "socializtion." We had to have Clint put down after about 12 years (spinal tumor.) That was it; no more dogs, too much hurt when losing them.                                                                       I retired a few years later and we decided we were lonely and decided to adopt. We got Pistol (a yellow lab) who was a rescue from Kentucky. He was about a year old and full of bad habits. The only logical thing was to call Brian and in real short order, Pistol was the dog we had hoped for. 10 years later he still graces our home and hearts.                                             In short, there aren't enough stars to place a value on Brian. He's the best.Rich PowersCharlton More...

Finding Brian to help us has honestly been life changing! My husband and I have owned our pug since he was a puppy, he is now five. He has always been a little unpredictable in public, barking, acting out, and not good with some dogs he met. After we moved into a new home this past year his behavior became more aggressive. He would bark, lounge and growl at almost everyone and every dog we would encounter on walks, and we were unable to have anyone to our home due to his behavior. We tried three different classroom settings, one even for "aggressive dogs", but nothing worked. It became very frustrating. We felt bad not being able to bring him anywhere and we hated not being able to have anyone to the house because we were scared about how he would react. From the first meeting with Brian we knew this training would be different than the others we had tried. He really got to know our dog and helped us understand why he was acting the way he was. Brian came to our house at first, but since our dog's issue was with other people/dogs we quickly moved training to public areas. Brian would always make sure we were comfortable with the training and would check up regularly. We felt very comfortable calling him if something would come up between sessions. The difference in our dog's behavior prior to meeting Brian to now is night and day. We just brought our dog with us on a week long vacation. We brought him to public beaches, out for ice cream, into dog friendly stores...all very busy places with other people and dogs! He has been great! Being able to do these things is honestly amazing to us. Not only are we happy but we feel that our dog is too! He is now getting to explore so much more because we are not scared to bring him places. We are so thankful to have found Brian. More...
