We hired Jen and Adrian for our destination wedding in Honolulu and could not have been more pleased. I'm sharing a bunch of her photos so that you can see for yourself. Our wedding was only 10 days ago, but the night of the wedding after her services ended, she immediately sent us a bunch of sneak peeks that we are already in love with. She also did our engagement photos in LA. She does an awesome job at utilizing the background/space and natural lighting. She uses ALL natural lighting. Perhaps the best thing about them both though is how nice and easy-going they are. When picking a photographer for your wedding day, I cannot stress how important it is that they are someone you get along with. From the initial consultation, I could tell that she was very chill but also very knowledgable, professional, and experienced. To be honest we were a little hesitant because she had never been to our venue, but that wasn't a problem at all. She is so talented and even arrived in the islands early to scope the location out. She was very patient and listened to our concerns, stuck to our JAM-PACKED timeline the day of, was very punctual, in fact, arrived EARLY to begin the long day. Jennifer did photos for our family reunion and was open to suggestions and had a great idea to photograph at Arlington gardens. She was great with communication and emailed to confirm and suggested color palettes that would work for a large group. Jennifer and her team were great!! They were professional and friendly throughout the wedding day and we were absolutely thrilled with the photos we received.  My huband and I knew we wanted to go with the best photographer for our wedding, especially because we did not get a videographer, and I think we absolutely made the right choice  The pictures captured all the big and small moments throughout the day, and we are so happy that we have these photos to look back on in the future.  She was also extremely quick with the turnaround time with getting us the photos.  I have some friends who didn't get their photos for months, but Jen was able to get it to us in just a couple weeks!  Highly recommend her if you are looking for a great photographer to capture your special day! I came across Jennifer while searching online for LA photographers. I probably went through 40 sites before I found hers and immediately fell in love with her pictures. Not only are her pictures beautiful though, her album designs are really special. You can tell she puts a lot of time and effort into each wedding album down to the material she chooses for the cover. I could not be happier to have chosen her to capture my wedding. Her and her team were really great and I appreciated their calm presence throughout the entire day of the wedding. It really felt like they were part of my bridal party lol. They made sure my train was not dragging in dirt, fixed my hair when it was out of place and even bustled my dress for me. Finding a wedding photographer was taxing and I'm so glad I decided to go with Jen. Jen and her team were professional and friendly. It's really important to find a photographer you mesh well with. Jennifer and her team are incredible! We found her work while checking out some photos in the Calamigos catalogue. I flipped to the end credits and saw that the mystery photographer I was admiring was Jennifer Fujikawa. As a person, she's a joy to be around and was my guiding light the day of the wedding. Seriously, I was clueless about when to get dressed, where to walk, what to do, and Jennifer helped me through much of the day leading up to the ceremony, all while taking gorgeous photos. As a photographer, she's got a magnificent eye for natural lighting, capturing candid moments of joy, scoping out scenic photo-ops. Also, she's like a magical wizard: my husband and I barely saw her & her team during the ceremony and reception, only to realize afterwards, she had been *everywhere*. She presented us with a beautiful multitude of photos from the night. We kept thinking, "how did she take that photo? I didn't even notice her?!" and yet she somehow got the perfect snap! Overall we are happy with the quality of our photos. Jen does a great job with editing and ensuring that the final product that's delivered is something to take you back to your special day. Finding the right photographer can be challenging, and it is good to note that you want to make sure that not only do you understand the portfolio you are choosing from, but that you also take the time to make sure the photographer takes the time to get to know you, your likes, and your dislikes. Remember that you don't get a re-do for your big day, so it's not a bad thing to really work out the details of your big day with your photographer ahead of time!For any future clients who might already have a vision of what they already want (and also like to ask a lot of questions!) don't be afraid to thoroughly communicate your needs and wants with Jen. We didn't totally feel like our needs were understood despite sending a couple of detailed e-mails, but please note that this could have been a miscommunication issue on both ends, so we are not putting any blame on anyone.There is sometimes too much to think about when planning for a wedding, and we do think it could have been more helpful if Jen had followed up with us more prior to our wedding, but this is also an even bigger lesson and reminder to future clients to make sure they stay on top of communication with ALL their vendors! Jen was one of the first couple wedding vendors we booked because we were pretty confident we wanted her to be our photographer.  After our initial meeting, we were able to make our decision rather quickly.  Her work speaks for itself!  Throughout the whole wedding process, Jen has not disappointed!  She is extremely easy to work with and very professional.  During our engagement shoot and on our wedding day, she (& her Dad, who was our second shooter) did a great job of helping us to feel less nervous and awkward.  She's also been so great about making sure we received all of our proofs and pictures in a timely manner.  She really went above and beyond for us and we could not be more appreciative!!!  We were so happy with how all of our engagement and wedding photos have turned out and can't wait to see our album!  I would recommend Jen, without hesitation, to friends and family! I instantly fell in love with Jen's photography style when I came across her Instagram, which I would describe as romantic and whimsical.  My fiance, who dabbles in photography and is familiar with the technical aspects of it, loved samples of her work from her portfolio and social media as well.  After meeting Jen, we knew right away that we wanted to hire her.  She has a variety of wedding packages and was very flexible with accommodating our requests.  The quality of her wedding album was also top notch!  She was very responsive with emails, professional, experienced, organized, super personable/friendly/sweet, and soo easy to work with!  She made us feel comfortable while capturing very intimate and candid images of our special day.  We were most impressed with how QUICKLY she provided us with engagement/wedding day photos!  Our photos were more beautiful than we could have imagined, and I still get teary eyed and emotional looking through them.    Jen's talent is undeniable. Hiring Jen as our photographer was easily one of the best decisions we made during the wedding planning process. She is professional, friendly, super quick to respond to any and all questions, and her photos speak for themselves! I'm a fan of the natural light style of photos, and when I randomly came across Jen's work on Instagram, I knew I had to book her. During the wedding planning process, Jen never took more than a few hours to answer my emails, which is something seriously amazing and very appreciated considering how busy she is. On the day of, she arrived at least 15 minutes before her scheduled time, directed all of our shots with complete ease, and even helped direct our videographers, who weren't as seasoned. Diana, her second photographer, was also amazing, and caught shots from different angles that I absolutely love. We would HIGHLY recommend Jen! Wedding photography was one of the first vendors we looked for, and when we came across Jen's blog we knew we needed to book her. After we talked to her, we were even more hooked. We felt photography was one of the most important aspects of our wedding, and wanted someone we could trust, someone we knew we could work easily with, someone professional, and someone whose photography style we love. Jen is all of this and much more! It's not easy to coral a group of 20 plus people, and Jen was so patient and efficient during this process. One of our favorite vendor  :)   When they say your favorite vendors can make or break your day, I totally believe it.   Jenn and her team totally made my day.  I loved them so so so much!  We had a few things happen that were not ideal from not getting the correct wedding flowers to having issues with a donut wall to developing a rash but when i saw Jenn in the morning she immediately gave me a hug and for some reason i just felt so comforted and forgot about everything that had already went wrong.      We met Jenn very early on in our wedding planning.   We interviewed about 3 photographer.   For some reason, when we met with her and my fiance looked at her book, he totally fell in love with his work.  His eye is actually more keen in terms of photography than mine is, but I was a sucker for her personality, her organization, and her love of succulents also.    What do you have to say, I am a sucker for people, If i liked the person i often knew i could work with them.   Jenn price ranges from the moderate range in terms of photographer but she's definitely worth every penny.  She had told us she doesn't accept every couple, so I am so glad that she accepted us.  Our engagement shoot was scheduled in December.   Jenn had emailed us a directory of sample photos and location ranging from all over southern california and we seriously couldn't stop looking at all her work which was amazing and the library of work she had.  She knew the perfect spots to accomplished our photos.   Our engagement shoot went smoothly at Malibu State Creek.   Afterwards, Jenn even executed some shots of us playing ball by a nearby park where she had found.    We loved all the elements of the shoot, she was even so sweet and brought us a little cart to put everything in in order to make the transport of materials from our car to site smooth.  We lovedddd how these photos turned out and blew a lot of them up from our house.   On the wedding day you can only imagine chaos is occurring, but Jenn was so sweet she gave me a hug, ran to set up her camera, and then started shooting us.  Our families wanted a lot of pictures, her and her second shooter were able to accomodate everything.     She even was able to just go with the plans, when my family wanted some more pictures and my guest wanted some additional pictures during cocktail hours.  Her and her second shooter Diana were amazing.   Diana, Jenn, and Adrian were even so cute they decided to have some playing with our leftover sparklers to see if we could do some unique photos with the sparkler exit.   She even gifted us some sneak peak photos really soon after the wedding which totally made our day since we are both such pictures people and weren't able to take any photos during the wedding day.  Hmph, there not enough nice things i could say about Jenn and her team, but we are so lucky to have met such amazing and talented photographers.    THANK YOU SO MUCH JENN and her team for making our day so special and capturing the details and intimate moments. Jen is just the best photographer, and a true professional!! I found her after I came across pictures that she took for another wedding at my wedding venue, and booked her immediately after she told us that she was available for our date. From the start, Jen made us feel so at ease by how well she knew everything related to the wedding and engagement photography process. She even knew that taking engagement shots at a certain beach would not turn out well at that time of the year! We felt very confident in her recommendations and skills as a photographer, and that confidence was definitely not misplaced! Jen was very receptive and flexible with certain requests we made regarding contractual terms and agreement that we made, which made my husband very happy! Communication was also very prompt and timely from the time of booking her services to receiving our pictures, which we really appreciated (I have known of other couples who received their pictures weeks after their promised date from other photographers)!! Our wedding day went very smoothly, with Jen knowing exactly what to take without being intrusive at all. Her calm and steady demeanor also really facilitated the flow of the day. She and her second shooter worked tirelessly and efficiently, and helped us keep to our schedule so nothing was missed. She was very patient with our different requests, and also as we were caught up with chatting with guests during our table shots. Our wedding was earlier this month, and I can say we could not be happier with what we got from Jennifer Fujikawa Photography. We met with Jen early on in our planning process because we liked what we saw online and decided to meet with her.  She was so easy to talk to and she understood what we were looking for in a photographer. She also brought along several of the wedding books she gives the bride and groom and they were gorgeous.  We signed the contract with her shortly after.We used Jen as both our engagement session photographer as well. While we had a few rough ideas of where we wanted to go during the session and what types of pictures we wanted, we let her run the show. She found spots, helped us pose ourselves and took lots of pictures.  It was pretty crowded that day but she did such a good job just isolating the two of us. When she sent us the pictures, my husband and I were blown away with the results of the shoot. We had never looked so pretty! On our wedding day Jen and her assistants were so wonderful and we could not have asked for a better experience. She did a great job blending what she thought would be great shots and getting some input from us on what we wanted. They were constantly working and felt so nice that they were doing everything they could to capture every little moment from our day.Jen was a dream to work with. I knew I wanted Jennifer to be our photographer before I was even engaged. She had done my friend's wedding and I was able to see her work was gorgeous. So for my wedding I made sure she was available on the date before I booked the venue. Yes, she is that great. Your wedding date should be based on her availability. From the start Jennifer was great at communication. All the emails were always answered clearly and quickly. Day of the wedding everything was smooth. Jennifer and her team were so kind, personable, and sweet. They made us all feel so comfortable. They are great at their jobs. Our pictures are beautiful and I couldn't be happier with them. Jennifer also did our engagement pictures which was super tough to nail down a date since my husband and I have conflicting schedules. However, she was able to squeeze us in on less than a week's notice! Overall, the pictures were as beautiful as I imagined them to be and the experience was even better than expected. I found Jen through a mutual friend that had used her for her engagement shoot. She's extremely professional, which was important to me. We took our engagement photos in Malibu, and they were breathtaking. So much so, I used her for my bridal shower as well. But my wedding pictures were simple amazing. She is worth every penny. I cannot say enough good things about working with Jen! She has a great eye and I love how dreamy all the photos she takes look. Not only is she extremely talented but super sweet and extremely easy to work with. I'm so lucky that not only have I gotten to know her as my photographer, but as a friend as well! We clicked so well when we did our first phone call with her, and after seeing her work, we knew we wanted to have her do our engagement and wedding photos. Jen is also super responsive which is something I valued greatly in all of my vendors! I personally don't like posing for photos so I was extremely nervous about the engagement shoot. Jen was an absolute delight to work with. It's rare to find such a fantastic combination of passion and talent, along with a personable and positive attitude. We booked her for an engagement session and the wedding day, and unfortunately she was not able to make it to our wedding but was able to retouch all of our photos. Working with her for the engagement session definitely helped us to "warm up" to getting our photos taken, and she made it extremely comfortable for us, giving us very specific direction when needed but also allowing us to be ourselves. For our wedding, she made sure to organize one of her associates to take the lead, and to select one who had shot at our venue prior so the transition is smooth. Diana stepped up like a champ, with the help of Jen's father who was a master second shooter (and a huge hit with our guests, especially on the dance floor--he will really get in there and get those amazing shots!). The day went without a hitch, and the photos we got back were still beautifully "Jen-ified," with her fantastic eye and what I could only imagine as a magic wand.Although my having the associate was a happy accident of sorts, I would recommend it as an option for couples. It's not an exaggeration when I say Jen is a magician. She has SO much talent and is guaranteed to produce amazing work. Not only so, she is incredibly professional, kind, and down-to-earth!I booked Jen for my engagement shoot and wedding, and from the very beginning, she made me and my husband feel at ease. Neither of us felt super comfortable being in front of the camera, but she was able to make us feel and look natural. Before our engagement shoot, Jen gave us a plethora of suggestions of places we could shoot and advice about choosing colors/outfits, which was super helpful.On our wedding day, Jen and her second shooter were prompt, calm, reassuring, and stealthy (aside from the posed photos, they seemed to stay out of sight somehow!). Jen is not only great at what she does and a true professional, she is also such a pleasant and positive person to be around.  My wife and I recently worked with Jen for our engagement shoot in Malibu and had the pleasure of working with both she and her father on our wedding day in Pasadena in July.  Jen is extremely prepared, has shot in many beautiful locations all over Los Angeles, and knows exactly how to create those engagement/wedding shots that will last a lifetime.  We appreciated how patient Jen was with us and during our first attempt at our engagement shoot, the weather did not cooperate.  Instead of taking the chance of shooting on a day that may not have turned out that well, she gratefully and willingly offered to reschedule to ensure we shot on a much more favorable day.  That day/evening of engagement photos was such a fun experience.  Both my wife and I were a little nervous leaving the house that day, but Jen did such a great job of breaking us out of our shells and making us feel comfortable in front of the camera.  The photos speak for themselves!Our wedding day photos she and her father captured were an extension of the quality work she did with our engagement photos.  She and her father captured our whirlwind of a day in such beautiful detail and had us laughing and smiling as they did it.  We have sat down with our photos on numerous occasions with various friends and family after our wedding and it never gets old.  Thank you so, so much Jen.  You are the absolute best! Jen is the absolute best photographer you'll have the opportunity of working with! She has been featured on a ton of wedding blog sites and I had been following Jen's work for some time now so when it came time to choose a photographer for my own wedding, it was such an easy choice. After contacting Jen, she set up a date for my husband and me to meet with her. She was professional from the start and brought along a lot of album and print samples. We looked through packages and booked her right away.I actually hate taking photos but when it came time for our engagement shoot, Jen made both me and my husband feel so comfortable and relaxed- we both had such a great time shooting with her. I wouldn't have wanted anyone else to do our photography for our outdoor wedding. Jen is constant professional and was able to capture a whirlwind of a day, especially with a group involving small children who weren't into photos. I also changed the timing and added hours to our service week of the wedding and Jen had no problem accommodating us! It was nearly 100 degrees on our wedding day but Jen and her dad worked so hard to get us some amazing pictures! Our ceremony, picture location, and reception were each in different places, but Jen had no problem with this. If you are looking for a talented engagement/wedding photographer who will make you feel at ease (during your shoot and throughout the planning process) -- DEFINITELY consider Jennifer Fujikawa. Style:Her photography style is very artistic and romantic, which is exactly what we were hoping for. She also does a great job catching the natural light at its best moments. She also has a strong eye for setting up great shots. During our engagement shoot, we were not familiar with the outdoor location that we chose (think trails/beach) and wasn't sure where we would end up on the trail we chose. Jen did an amazing job navigating despite this fact, and worked quickly so we didn't lose the sunlight. She also got an artistic shot of us standing next to this huge tree, which we loved. :) She has a lot of experience with styled wedding shoots (LOVE THOSE PHOTOS), but she also is stellar at catching the candid, intimate moments! Communication:Our wedding was in San Diego, while we live in the Bay Area so we had to do a lot of long distance planning. Jen was very prompt with all communication and very flexible when we needed to schedule phone conversations. She made it very easy to plan both our engagement photo shoot and wedding day from afar, which helped immensely. She even reached out for our other vendor contact information, so that she could coordinate timing and get the shots that she needed. Overall: Jen's photography packages are comprehensive (with various options!) and we found the perfect package that worked for us and our budget. We opted to have the wedding photo book as well, which we are very excited about. They look amazing with great quality -- and it was one item that many of my married friends wish that they had included in their photography package, so we are glad we chose to get it. She is the SWEETEST! I found Jen Fujikawa on a wedding blog, either Green Wedding Shoes or The Knot. I emailed her and several other photographers. Her response was the only one that stood out to me. She was very quick to respond (I'm pretty sure she emailed back the same day). She sounded excited and eager to learn more about my wedding photography needs whereas other vendors emailed back auto-responses or were very short and rude. Aside from the photos I saw on her blog, her quick response time, cheerfulness, and ability to answer questions thoughtfully were what won me over. You can tell she genuinely wants to make you happy and that she loves what she does. She sent all the pictures to us within 2-4 weeks, it was lightning quick!I told her what I was looking for and what my  budget was and she was very accommodating. We didn't need a photo album so that helped to cut cost, we just wanted someone to shoot pictures on the day of and give us all the raw photos. Whatever your needs, she will work hard to accommodate you to the best of her ability. Although! Her photo books are GORGEOUS and if we had the money, we would have purchased one. I would say you should spring for the books. They are carefully crafted and you can tell she puts her heart into it. For our engagement shoot, a bee flew into her hair. When we tried to get it out of her hair, it flew into my cardigan and stung me! She handled everything calmly and was able to get us back on track despite the incident. I loveddd the overall feel she created with the look of our engagement shoot. It was a very ethereal, whimsical feel. I love the way she used the natural light and greenery around us to create a beautiful backdrop. She provided us with a book of great locations to shoot at, but due to poor planning on our part, we ended up going to a local trail I used to run. This trail is usually nothing but dirt and trees with very little green. By some miracle, the whole trail was lush when we happened to do our e-shoot. What is adorable is that she brings her little Polaroid camera and take a few film photos. She let us have one she took and we treasure it to this day.On the day of, she and a second shooter were there. I read in reviews that her dad is often the second shooter and I was hoping he would be ours, but she had another girl there. Darn! I didn't get to interact much with her, so I can't really comment on her second shooter. The pictures came out with a nice feel that matched our venue and look. We had an all-white wedding with greenery here and there and she was able to tie in the venue and details to make our pictures so beautiful! We ran out of time to make use of the entire venue and I wish we had snapped pictures at certain spots (inside the Heritage Museum house, in a vintage cabana we rented) so make sure you allocate time for photos! She also took lovely candid photos, detail shots, and artsy angle shots that we loved. My only regret is that I didn't have a list of must-have shots to take, I mistakenly assumed that she could read my mind. Make sure you are clear about what you want. Jennifer is an absolutely amazing photographer!!!! I scoured the internet to find the perfect photographer for some post wedding pictures to give to family who live on the other side of the world. I came across Jennifer's photography website via Yelp and I was so impressed with her picture taking abilities. I honestly thought "She's amazing so she will probably be too expensive for me to book" but I gave it a whirl and contacted her to find out her pricing. I'm soooooo glad I did as she was very affordable and responded to all inquiries the same day!!! I was so confident that she would take great pictures and the process of booking and planning the photoshoot was so easy.Upon meeting Jennifer,she is so sweet and personable. She was very friendly and knew exactly what would make the perfect setting for a photo. My Husband and I felt so at ease/relaxed throughout the photoshoot and usually he hates pictures being taken but he really enjoyed this shoot. Jennifer sent us the pictures in a week and offered to retouch 10 of them if we chose to have any altered, but we were so impressed by them that we didn't feel we needed any of them retouched. They were sooooooo beautiful!!!!!! We loved how the pictures came out and the pictures we have shared with family and friends so far were really impressed by them.:) Overall we couldn't have been anymore happy with the quality of Jennifer's photography service. Jen's photographs from our recent wedding in southern california are simply magical.  It has been a little over two months since our wedding, and I still look at the pictures daily :) . .. she made a day (which admittedly was a bit frazzled and rushed at points) look so amazingly beautiful and captured so many of the little moments that we weren't able to see or experience for ourselves that day but have been able to relive and share over and over again since. My friends and relatives all are so amazed by the quality and beauty of her images as well -- the most frequent comment I get is "you look like you are in a magazine"!Jen and her second shooter were a great team on the wedding day, blending seamlessly into the background of the celebration, but stepping in at just the right moments to direct the family portraits and capture the especially perfect shot (and being the only one who was able to get our floral crowns to actually sit "just right"!).I'm so thankful for the quality of service and photographs she delivered and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a wedding photographer. Jennifer was the first wedding vendor we met with and secured for our big day. We had a probable venue, we had a probable date for the wedding but we knew for sure she was the one for us. For a very petite lady, she is packed with sincerity, confidence and professionalism. When our wedding planner became our biggest nightmare, Jennifer stepped up and offered to help with planning our timeline. She calmed our pre wedding jitters, was quick to respond to our questions and delivered exceptionally with picking a location for our bridal party location. My husband wanted a raw urban vibe and I really wanted a earthy natural setting. Magically, she found the perfect blend. She was gracious enough to come early in the morning of the wedding for tea ceremony pictures and for the older folks, they were ecstatic! We cannot thank her enough for delivering such gorgeous pictures. The lighting was beautiful, the expressions she captured throughout the night were priceless. Finding a good photographer for your wedding is one of the most challenging tasks in the planning process. Being someone who values photography and has a discerning eye but also has a budget, my husband and I couldn't have been more grateful to have found Jennifer Fujikawa Photography for our wedding day. Jen is friendly, kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. We had a great first meeting and my husband wanted to hire her on the spot! Before the wedding and throughout the process she was always incredibly responsive and provided great service. She was quick to respond to any questions and/or provide helpful suggestions (e.g. engagement shoot locations and wedding day scheduling). She even provides a Engagement Shoot Location portfolio book that is beyond helpful and such a great tool! In addition, if she hasn't worked at your venue before, she's willing to do a site visit with you, so that you can show her the space and talk through any logistical/set-up issues. On wedding day, she's just as wonderful to work with. She was punctual, organized and professional. Her and her father are a great team and also very efficient at shooting the needed group shots. Jen posted an amazing teaser photo of us the day after and we were just as happy when we received our wedding photos a few weeks after. Our photos were beautiful, soft and romantic, which really reflected our special day.
