My husband, my two children and I had a family photo shoot today with Jen in Farley Mount near Hursley in Hampshire. This was our 5th photo shoot with Jen and we keep going back to her as we love how she works, we always have great fun on the photo shoots and the photos she produces are brilliant. Working with a 3 year old and a 20 month old (and my husband ) isn't always the easiest but Jen is so patient and understanding. I'm sure we'll be asking for another photo shoot in time. I can not recommend Jen enough! I wanted to recreate my wedding day but include my horse! Big ask. Couldn't ask for a better person to do this. Jen is professional, fun and understanding in what you want. She had so many ideas and we had so much fun shooting these photos of me in my dress on my beloved horse. She's very patient and was happy to wait for my horse to be happy and ears forward. It was so lovely to bring my dress back out when I never though I would've used it again. The one thing I wanted on my wedding day was my horse. So now I got to re create this! So much fun and I loved every minute of it. Want to do it all again! Thanks again Jen!!! Jen is absolutely fantastic! Our wedding photos are brilliant! Jen is full of great ideas and took the time to listen and understand what we wanted. She is very professional, but also great fun! The engagement photo shoot was marvellous; we could get a feel for what it would be like on the day, Jen also give us new suggestions for the wedding photos which were really creative and different, and incorporating things (Dorrian’s classic car!) that are special to us. On the day Jen was a godsend. She arrived punctually and was very calm, she organised all our guests for the photos, taking the usual groups but also capturing a more relaxed setting. At the reception Jen also took some photos in the gardens of just Dorrian and I which are beautiful. I would thoroughly recommend Jen, she is a professional, wonderful and creative photographer. Jen took the time to get to know us as a couple and made us feel at ease from day one, our engagement shoot was great fun and gave us the opportunity to see what it would be like on our special day. She helped organise all the timings and spent time looking around our venue with us to make sure we would have the best backgrounds possible. On our wedding day jen played a huge part, she made sure everything ran smoothly, everyone knew where to be and she made it fun and enjoyable. What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
I feel that the secret to taking great Photographs is taking time out to get to know your Couples. Its imperative that I Photograph their personalities not just paying customers.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
I would ask these questions, where you met, what do you do in your spare time or for a hobby, to describe your personalities, how would you describe yourself when in front of a camera, why did chose me and what don't you like about certain poses?
What do you love most about your job?
I love meeting new people, being in different places and scenarios, finding their very different personalities and trying to create different ways and ideas in Photography to express them and how they interact with their partners. I love telling stories through Photos, thinking on my feet, being active and also being creative.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I spent 12 years as personal trainer and as much as I loved the work it still wasn't quite where I wanted to be in my career. One day I took a long hard look at where I was and where I wanted to be and soon realised my passion was Photography. I went to college three times a week after work for the next two years and got distinctions in all of my courses. My Photographic work still hangs in the college to this day. Something I am very proud of and I have not looked back since. I have always had an eye for photography and I usually have the image I'm striving for in my head before I even picked up my camera.
I went on to Photograph Children, Pets and portraiture for the first two years with a few weddings in between to build a portfolio and see what I really enjoyed between those types of Photography. I soon realised that weddings were where I was always happiest and at my best. I love the fact weddings can be fast paced and fun (something that can really get the creative juices flowing), but also they have that intimacy (this is where I am able to create a variety of more natural, private and intimate photographs). I meet so many people and no two people or couples are the same. I am blessed to be asked to document people's weddings in an unobtrusive way that will create a lifetime of memories for them.

My wedding Photography is unique because I Photograph the personalities of people rather than "A wedding". I ensure that I meet people on more than one occasion so I can get to know them a bit better, what makes them laugh and what gets them to give that expression that's hard to find by just meeting them as a couple on a one off occasion. I’m all about the fun of a wedding, the natural moments and keeping out of your face! Most of the time you won’t know I’m there and when you do, it’ll be like hanging with your mate who just happens to be a fantastic photographer.
