Lodging in this part of VT is a little tough to come by, and this place turned out to be an absolute gem! We spent three nights in the guest house, which was both modern and rustic, and beautifully decorated. The property itself is stunning, with lots of open fields, a couple of horses, and plenty of wildlife to observe. Jeffrey was a wonderful host, providing a delicious breakfast every morning, and offering great recommendations for things to do and see in the area (he told us we had to have dinner at The Arcadian restaurant in Middlebury, and it was AMAZING!). The location itself is about 20 minutes outside Middlebury, and about 40 minutes outside Burlington. Considering how rural the area is, I felt like this was pretty convenient since VT is fairly spread out. The Inn keeper Jeff and his wife Mary Jane are fantastic hosts - the breakfast in the morning consisted of organic yoghurt, delicious organic steel cut oats and OJ with local honey. She made all of our dinner reservations , gave us excellent driving directions but what was most extraordinary was her generousity and passion for entertaining. We felt like guests visiting good friends at their beautiful country house. We had not been there for more then 10 minutes when she offered me wine and prepared a cocktail for my husband.
