Where can I begin? I have had the opportunity to know Jeffrey for over a year now. He is passionate and is a perfectionist about his work. In fact, he goes beyond being “just an architect” to being a design artist while taking into account a safe environment, sustainability, creativity, the clients’ pocketbook and more. In addition, he provides “big firm” services within his personal and caring studio from architectural design to construction services to interior and custom furnishings. A one-stop shop with creativity, passion, precision and caring! More...

Jeffrey is AMAZING. I had a very specific and unique build and after talking to several Architects, no one captured my thoughts and ideas like Jeffrey did. He listened to what I wanted and at the end of our meeting, she hand sketched my house with ALL my requests and then some right in front of me. I COULD NOT believe my eyes when I saw his drawings because it was everything I wanted but with so many more details that I had not thought of or didn't even know I wanted. It was simply amazing to see his pencil illustrate my thoughts/wants so clearly and quick. I knew no one other than Jeffrey would be taking my project on. After taking an inspirational trip together for our project around Europe, I fell even more with love with his personality and professionalism. More...

My wife and I hired a large, well-known Atlanta architectural firm to design a custom home for us in Midtown Atlanta. After four months we weren't getting what we desired from either of the architects who had worked on it. We researched and then interviewed five Atlanta-area architects with Transitional-to-Modern credentials. After talking with all of them extensively we felt that Jeffrey Bruce Baker best demonstrated a clear understanding of what we were trying to build, and we engaged his firm to design our house. It is rare in my life that I've been able to recommend a professional as completely and without reservations or qualifiers as I can recommend Jeffrey Bruce Baker Designs. They heard us, they designed a preliminary series of perspective sketches to see if they were capturing what we wanted, they created plans to best utilize our difficult lot (long and extremely narrow, surrounded by an old granite wall). They met with us numerous times, always with plenty of time scheduled for review, idea swapping, edits. They presented a reasonable contract up front detailing all of the services that were included in our Agreement, as well as charges for additional services throughout the process. Nothing about the architecture financials came as a surprise to us during the design or construction process; it all cost what was agreed upon up front. Jeffrey Bruce Baker Designs has been prompt and timely with meetings, both on-site and off-site as needed, and has acted as our advocate with the builder throughout the process. We are very pleased with their representation of us, as this is the first house we've built from the ground up.Finally, the intangibles. The design is unique, stunning, very much what we were looking for, and very outside of the standard contemporary design box. They worked to efficiently minimize the size of the home without giving up the living spaces and amenities we wanted. And don't underestimate this part of the whole process: They have been an absolute BLAST to work with! I mean, we've laughed more on this project than just about anything we've done in awhile. Jeffrey Bruce Baker himself is always optimistic, forward-looking, eager to delight his clients with a superb and unmatched design. At the same time, he is very clear that it is ultimately your house and your decisions to make. He is VERY, VERY good at being respectfully opinionated when he feels strongly about an element, and being very flexible when he doesn't. I can't stress enough how important that is: we didn't want somebody who rolls over the minute we make a suggestion -- that's why we're paying for professional design -- but by the same token we didn't want somebody who's ego or "artistic sensitivities" get injured if we weren't thrilled with some element and asked to make a change. Jeffrey strikes a PERFECT balance between these two in our opinion.I can recommend JBBD wholeheartedly and without any reservations! (We like working with them so much we also engaged them for all our interior design work!) More...

I was downsizing and Jeffrey helped me to decide which furniture, decor and art would work and what had served it’s purpose well but would not work in the new space. Jeffrey then did the interior design for my new place including selecting paint colors for the room, custom designing a headboard and upholstered bench, furniture placement and new custom bedding.Jeffrey’s portfolio speaks for itself. My personal experience was working with a talented designer who understood my needs and taste and was able to translate that into the perfect design.I gave a 5 star review and would recommend Jeffrey Bruce Baker design wholeheartedly. I hired Jeffrey Bruce Baker Designs when I was the general manager of ATLAS BUCKHEAD (at the St Regis, Buckhead) We had a 'dead' area of the business that I wanted to transform into a place where people could sit comfortably and have cocktails, appetizers or dinner. The result was transforming. This area became a go to for many and resulted in a ten percent uptick in sales. The furniture he designed was not only beautiful, but smart in form and function. His team truly transformed the space; and made the business more profitable. More...

Jeffrey's work and creativity is out of this world. His ability of instantly organizing your thoughts and ideas and immediately put it into a drawing is insane. Never worked with someone so talented in many different areas as Jeffrey. Definitely not your typical cookie cutter/ copy cat designer.
Being a professional in this industry, I definitely recommend him if you're looking for a unique design personalized to what you have in mind.
My project is extremely challenging in many different ways and while many professionals before Jeffrey turned it away, Jeffrey took the project and challenge without a single bit of recitation.
Probably one of the most challenging projects he has ever done and I could not have picked a better person for the job!
Beyond satisfied and recommend him a million times over!

I asked Jeffrey to design a Country French entrance for my home. Wow ! He came with perfect creative ideas on the porch (made it look as if it had been there for decades), landing, front door, real working shutters, and even perfect outside paint colors for a Country French home. Jeffrey was so considerate and concerned to help me identify exactly what I wanted. He managed the entire project, working with my contractor. His vision, knowledge, "eye" for every detail, and delightful personality made the project a wonderful experience. More...

Jeffrey designed a new kitchen for me in the latter half of 2013 and then supervised the actual renovation work that began 2 January 2014 and ended 9 March 2014. Needless to say, I am absolutely thrilled with the result. I told Jeffrey before work began that I wanted to make no decisions and that came to pass thanks to his detailed plans. The contractors worked from those plans and I have only the highest praise for them, too. Jeffrey's plans combined three rooms into one large space and included replacing the cellar stairs (where I had to duck my head going down) with a circular stair case that is just perfect. The final result was far removed from my initial discussion with Jeffrey but his design was so perfect that I quickly deferred to him on virtually everything he wanted to do. He included a large island in the kitchen which I had not envisioned and behind it he added a three-pane glass sliding door that lets a ton of light into the room and that I use all the time to get to my deck. He also designed a garden window that projects outward by about eighteen inches and is full of plants. I first learned of Jeffrey because he designed the kitchen of my next-door-but-one neighbor. I loved it and I love mine even more. I'm so happy with the result. The work also included a new floor in the attic space and opened up the den to the new kitchen. More...

Jeffrey Bruce Baker is a Design Guru! We decided to downsize Studio 305, our Buckhead Salon and asked Jeffrey to help. We showed him the smaller space we were considering and expressed our concerns about lighting, plumbing, interior walls, seating and ambiance. Jeffrey's excitement and new design for us was fabulous and amazed us. He took a tired, old dark space and created an open, bright intimate atmosphere that our clients were totally "Wow" about. Jeffrey created the WoW factor with fabric, color, lighting, glass and removing unnecessary walls. Our clients love coming in and keep commenting on how beautiful our Salon is. Working with Jeffrey has been an absolute pleasure! He has listened to our ideas and designed beyond our expectations. His architectural, lighting and design degrees and experience make him an expert. Jeffrey has a passion and excitement for his work that is contagious making the project a joyful experience. My husband and I hired Jeffrey Bruce Baker Designs, LLC in January 2013 to create architectural design plans for a 1972 home we bought and completely gutted to create a 99% new renovation (we kept 3 original walls and the foundation only) it was an extremely large project over 6,000 sf plus 1,000 sf of outdoor living space and a pool. We completed and the project and moved into the property December 2013.
First, I should state that we interviewed 13 architects for this job and I am so glad we hired Jeffrey Bruce Baker, LLC. Jeffrey, the principle has a passionate artistic vision while keeping the technical, engineering, structural and budget in perspective. He listened intently and took hundreds of notes. I am an interior designer so it was very important that I find someone who could create a plan with me, not for me and Jeffrey did just that. He scoured my HOUZZ account looking at all of my idea books so that he could incorporate my design desires into his architectural design. Jeffrey never once disappointed us. He is extremely detail oriented and although he is a lot younger than most of the architects we interviewed, over time and throughout the project I found that he is one of the wisest and mature professionals I have had the opportunity to work with. We highly recommend this firm and will be happy to provide a personal reference if you are considering hiring them for a project, you will not be disappointed.

Q&As

We listen then write a detailed scope so the client knows we thoroughly understand their design needs. We then lead the client through a six step design process to refine and create the final design. We use budget studies, the attributes of the current space or property, program needs, and personal aesthetic of the client or their end users to inform the design process. The process is a collaborative approach involving the client, Jeffrey, and our professional studio of planners, licensed interior designers, and licensed architects. We use hand drawn perspectives, plans, sourced material samples, and renderings to explore the design solution. Once approved we use BIM drafting software to produce construction drawings and specifications for use in permitting and to communicate to the builder all requirements to successfully complete construction of the project.

We are a diverse group of designers and have a portfolio showing a range of work form historical infill, to eclectic transitional, and modern vocabularies. Our current project commissions are 75% modern, 15% transitional, and 10% traditional.

Being a creative problem solver and being invited into a client's home or business to collaborate and design a beautiful and functional space for them, their families, and clients. As a practice that offers architecture, interior design, and furnishing services I enjoy that we get to practice in all creative areas of the built environment and interior outfitting. Personally I would have a hard time choosing a single favorite area of design but two of my favorite steps are space planning then fabric selections.

I have had the opportunity to be around the interior design business since a young child through my family and am a third generation practitioner in the design and construction industry. I have wanted to be a designer and architect for as long as I can remember and have had the goal of founding a practice since high school. Prior to opening the practice in 2009 I have practiced as a member of other firms in interior design and architecture in laboratory, medical, hospitality, retail, restaurant, multifamily and luxury residential sectors.

We have a passionate and diverse team in our studio that enriches all projects. We have the ability to gear our services to different scopes and can save our clients time and money by offering multiple design disciplines in one studio environment.
